Well, I'm off to a family reunion where only parts of the family were invited. Promising start!
Generally, my dad's side of the family is heavy-drinking, dramatic and quick to fight loudly. We're going to Cleveland. I'm driving with my brother's family all night tonight to make it.
Does this sound fun yet?
So where would you rather not be this weekend?

I love Cleveland. Lots of fun places to go and eat. Bangladesh? Never been but I think I'll leave it for later.
I don't want to be home this weekend. Thinking of a couple day trips or an over-night.

On Aug. 19th I will be driving to Florida. I just have the one day off though. I expect to make the trip in about 3 hours. I am, of course talking about Florida, MA

And... BACK! With only a few off-color comments and awkward moments and NO fistfights, I call it a success!
Of course now I must sleep

Thanks! Family Reunions = Escape from Takron Galtos Hah! Glad you survived it! My aunt always organized a reunion in Colorado and I always begged off with "too expensive to fly out there". Where I don't want to be this weekend: at a funeral, where I was last weekend. Inevitable and unavoidable, but I'd still like to pretend funerals don't happen to people I like.

Yes, sorry for your loss, FC. Glad the reunion went well for you, Andy. My family is generally OK, so I don't mind reunions. But after I hit 30 I'm sure the awkward questions like, "Why don't you have a girlfriend yet?", "When do you plan to have kids?" and "What's your salary? Are you earning enough to have kids?" will start driving me away. Pakistan sounds pretty bad too. http://www.clarionproject.org/news/least-933-women-murdered-honor-killings-pakistan

Family reunions aren't necessarily bad for me, just boring. For the most part, my relatives and I don't share many of the same interests or personal beliefs so we don't have much to talk about. It isn't helped by the fact that I'm in an awkward spot of being neither too young or too old to be in the same age group as many of them. :shurg:
Keep up with what I've been watching lately! "Where have you gone, Joe DiMaggio? Our nation turns its lonely eyes to you."
