It's long been my belief for years that any given LOIS LANE cover is the best thing ever and would crush any cover that comes against it head to head.

Was I right, or was that just the musings of a lifelong fanboy at the earliest possible stages of cancer-addled madness? LET'S FIND OUT!!!!

OUR FIRST BATTLE... LOIS LANE VS. ACTION COMICS!

But the cape would have been above...just how did the shark grab it?

Shenanigans.

It's a Krypronian shark?

The shark is totally in on it. This is the Supes version of an "accidental" underwear (or non-underwear) flashing. (Ooh, another forebear of rapidly dating cultural references.)

Shark covers really should be more of a thing, like gorillas.

But back to the main question: YES LOIS rather than Supes' weird Coppertone homage!

Gotta go with Supes' underweaer flash on this one. That shark just looks too happy going for Lois' crotch, and the boat should be unbalanced the ways Supes is holding it, unless the motor is made of plastic.

Lois for me. The art on the water effects is better; Superman's swooping is better (he's come from the water in the other cover); there's a boat and a damsel in distress. Cramer has already mentioned pervy shark. The other one looks to have been fired from a Shark Launcher by Ocean Master, rather than hunting.

Lois pretty much always brings the cray. (Handy sentence to copy & paste for duration of thread.)

Why does Clark Kent help hunt down DC's boldest new hero? Because it's really Jimmy Olsen after mucking about with body molds. Read I Am Curious(Gender)!

DEFINITELY the Lois cover! The Action cover is one of about 20 Jaws posters rip-offs that were everywhere in the mid-70's, while the Lois one actually leaves you wondering what's going to happen, and feature the shark coming towards Lois, and the readers!

Sums it up right there!

The Black Lightning cover is typical 70's mediocre superhero stuff, with a white guy calling Black Lightning "black dude" (which in 1976 was probably quite complimentary!). Meanwhile the Lois cover is batshit insane yet charming because Uncle Mort probably wanted the youth of America to learn something. Which they probably did.

Lois Lane always wins in my book ... I mean she is working that snake from head to T!

I think Supes better save the other lady because LL can save her damn self!

After the last set of covers, are we sure that the lady in the tree is Lois and not the lady in the swamp?

MUCH more interesting cover for Lois and a very nice snake. Amazing Man: man bites snake, yawn.

Is there something about black women and quicksand? Does this cover predate the Pulsar Stargrave's Quicksand?
