We can make a rapid fire game of it, A poster posts a Legionnaire to discuss, and the next poster writes a few sentences about that character and then posts a new member for the next poster to discuss. ( ...... or freestyle discussion is cool too) < I'll try to add images intermittently>. Let's start with 15! SHRINKING VIOLET

Traumatic events in Salu’s life have forced her to re-evaluate herself, her relationships and her goals. Moving from her more introverted, timid self Salu established herself as an assertive field leader. She adopted a rigorous training regime to not only improve herself, but perhaps to fight some internal demons that linger from her long time in sensory deprivation. I feel that Salu relationship with her teammates suffered as her imposter wasn’t discovered for some time. This was despite that person forming a romantic relationship with another Legionnaire and her former boyfriend not bothering enough to notice the change. It made her more cynical and not willing to take things for granted. Salu also pursued the person she really wanted to be with, in Ayla Ranzz. The relationship took time to really blossom and is one of the strongest in the Legion, if not comics. It’s no coincidence that Ayla’s relaxed self-assurance is a perfect match for Salu’s drive. Next Up… Dirk Morgna: Sun Boy

He was a womanising, sexist jerk that was never on my list of favourites, but he was still a good friend and a great Legionnaire and not deserving of the character turn given him in 5YL.

An arrogant snot who suddenly became the uncertain new kid. On the plus side, he had a lot of power and knew how to use it effectively enough, and was willin to learn more. Next: Kinetix

Self obsessed. Power hungry. Maybe not so clearly defined a power but very powerful. Quislet with big hair. Seemed to have friends though.

Her family shunned and / or pitied her for not being able to see infinite possible futures like other Naltorians, so she went to Sorcerer's World and learned to *make* infinite possible futures with magic!
At some point, her hair and skin turned white, she got a magic tracheotomy gem and her eyebrows turned into antennae. Nobody knows what's up with that, but it's assumed that she puffed that magic dragon-herb a little too hard when she hit wizarding school.

Punching Bag Lad. Big Target Lad. "I didn't realize my friend was replaced with a clone so I started dating her even though she had a very powerful boyfriend."
I thought his costume was cool in the Giffen Levitz era. If unpractical, Giffen drew it well. Also, during this time he showed off his strength a lot.
I actually don't know much about him except he seems to be injured, dead or missing a lot.

"Evolved" from odd, plot device background character into a strong leader with more well-defined powers. Next: Gates!

A character with a differing political viewpoint, that's treated for laughs (see Dove). "Oh, that's just Gates." A non human addition that's worked out well, and someone who gets the team where they need to be without us having to see all those panels (see Dawnstar).
Speaking of Dawny, she's next!

Aloof, "dignified", a visual treat, a plot device but someone with strong personality and character. Underrated in battle but her speed makes her a heavy hitter. Next: XS

overcomes combat panic to have a crush on everyone and provide a link to the Tornado Twins Flash legacy. Great v the Blight and switched universes only to be let down by the creative team and ignored.

Great attitude and look, epic hair, welcome bit of diversity, kind of squiffily-defined powerset and unfortunate butt-thong...

Cheeses, pick just one Legi...oh, I see....
Self doubting, Superboy loving... until she made up her mind to make a change in her life. And she did. Going from strength to strength training others, even as she lost bodies to Computo and Trapper. Great relationship with Chuck although the shadows of Nam'Lor linger in her other selves.
Fine. So I didn't get a butt thong character. Unlike the next poster who gets to discuss Laurel Gand.

Fitting successor to Supergirl who became a great character in her own right. Strong in character and not just in powers. Extremely likable. Her death at the end of v4 was shocking and made me shed a tear. Next: Monstress

Bubbly to the point of effervescence, she was the 'girly-girl' on a team of hard-fighting tough-as-nails kung-fu-fightin' warrior-women, despite her powers making her far better suited to the kind of martial-artsy boot-to-the-head attitude teammates like Umbra and Trips were packing. The least interesting powerset, combined with the most interesting personality, making her a breath of fresh air (and an interesting contrast to Blok, who was far more 'traditional' in the strong and silent / gentle giant role).

Agreeing with Set here a lot - the typical gentle giant, though could be depended on in battle. With a natural curiosity that to me is a mark of intelligence. Always kind and never with a nasty word. Next: Magno

I didn't know him, only his preboot LSV version!
I remember him pummeling Jo Nah with an asteroid belt. Which is pretty awesome. If only they had let me join the Legion. Then he wouldn't have been a villain. It's their fault.

The Lori Morning H-Dial character who had speed and wind powers. Wind powers, so she says - but she could fly. Nice costume, decent powerset (though duplicating two faves, XS and Nightwind). Not much more to say without delving into Lori Morning herself. Next: Shikari

AH! Invisible Brainaic Legion!
Shikar is not Dawnstar. and she's was't, she was very well developed. I liked her. and her learning to use her powers to do just about anything. But really it was her rip roaring speed and exo suit that was exciting in the beginning. Plus Coiple could really draw her.
She was a nice injection into the dark reboot stories.
Now for something completely different:

Heh! Going through the Postboot only members first... Celeste was capable, but IMO she didn't really stand out until she got those crazy awesome GL powers that suddenly made her one of the most powerful Legionnaires ever. If she had joined earlier I could see her racing into battle alongside Wildfire, Ultra Boy, Dawnstar and Mon-El... She was a strong woman, made even more interesting when she lost her body and became an energy being. She dealt with it quite well, too. That phase didn't last long though... And then Zero Hour came... Next: Nightwind

Great visual, especially with the robes, tattoos and (possibly?) bald head, very much not a traditional big-haired swimsuit-pinup-babe Legionnaire, fun power with offensive, defensive and utility function (and yet also a built in limitation), and, from her brief appearances, a fun kind of low-key and 'newbie hero' sort of personality.

Ah, we barely knew him. Tough but not cocky, confident but not arrogant, someone who could have been a heavy hitter. The Postboot version started out so wimpy, certainly not fitting his powers - but eventually was forged in fire. It took a while though... he became more confident but still was a sensitive soul. Her out of control powers got her meanly rejected by Imra. But that's not enough to turn into a villain. Susa was always one to join the group where she could get the most from. Happy to hitch up with heroes or villains when it suited her. Not a nice portrayal of her with Earth Man.
