I thought for sure with Lemire's Legion arc in Justice League United that a new Legion title was on the horizon post Convergence. I'm really bummed. I guess after JLU and Convergence I'll be going on hiatus in collecting any new comics for awhile.
On the positive side: I just bought all 13 volumes of the Legion Archives so I'll have plenty of new old comics that I've never read before to pass the time away. L.W., from what I've been told, Dan Didio's seen like 8 different Legion proposals so far.

Come to think of it, he has his own thread in Visionaries of Tomorrow. I think I'll go bump it right now.

I think Didio wants something that's as futuristic as the Legion is supposed to be while focusing on younger Legionnaires. Apparently Paul's last series was a bit outdated by Didio's taste.
Li'l Rhino has suggested doing something like an old timey future Legion like they were in the Silver Age. I've suggested a blend of future aesthetics.
And personally, I'm all for young Legionnaires as the focus... but keep the older Legionnaires. Why not focus on XS and Kinetix?

DiDio:- "“This heralds in a new era for the DC Universe which will allow us to publish something for everyone, be more expansive and modern in our approach and tell stories that better reflect the society around us,” said DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Dan DiDio in a press release. “Whether you’ve been a DC fan your whole life, or whether you are new to comics – there will be a book for you beginning in June.”
"de-emphasizing continuity" - newsarama
“In this new era of storytelling, story will trump continuity as we continue to empower creators to tell the best stories in the industry.” - DiDio
"We're seeing more diversity in our audience. We're seeing a younger crowd," - DiDio
"We're seeing people really enthusiastic about comics. So what we're trying to do is embrace all our audiences, and to create product that I feel talks to everybody."
All of that...ALL OF THAT...says Legion! DC doesn't have a better franchise than the Legion to address all those goals. Bring on the core, old-school Legionnaires and tell some grand new stories. Bring on the Academy and do some fresh things in their own book. Bring on the Wanderers and expand the universe. Bring on the Espionage Squad. Find some great storytellers and turn 'em loose! Bring It, DC!
"Everything about this is going to feel different." (Saturn Girl, Legion of Super-Heroes #1)

I just saw part of the solicits for June. Apparently the Omega Men are killing Kyle Rayner, and with Bueno Excellent being included in the Section 8 comic I will be staying as far away from it as humanely possible. http://www.newsarama.com/23781-dc-comics-june-2015-solicits-part-1.html

Yuck. Was anyone actually asking for the return of Bueno Excellent?

IIRC, whatever Bruno Excellente does is left up entirely to the reader's imagination. Meaning, if the reader thinks he is raping someone, then the writer can say "that was never in there, YOU'RE the sicko!", which is a pretty common form of comedy nowadays (see Patton Oswalt's hilarious ways of tormenting people on twitter).
Kyle wasn't actually ever raped or anything. One might infer that, if they wished, but clearly such a thing never happened and was never in DC canon.
For the most part, Section 8 were pretty hilarious. They are meant as total farce.

A lot of these look really interesting, if it wasn't DC I would totally be into some of them .. especially a Black Canary one. Robot Batman, Omega Men and a couple others look to have good hooks too.
BUT. I flipped through Justice League United tonight at the CBS and it's just too short and DC's cover art is no indication of the quality of the inside art.
<--- jaded and bitter. party of one.
.....
Power Girl and Harlequin is a bit odd ... like putting the two most popular females together. A redesign could have helped ... so it's like a PG and Huntress but in a different way.
Who the bloody hell is Bueno Excellente btw.

I'm currently buying 0 comics, so I might give Earth 2: Society and Teen Titans a try. We'll see.

I'll get PREZ if it's full on or mostly humor but I've no interest in anything remotely grim n gritty starring Prez.

I think Prez is meant to be light hearted humor! I'm trying it.

I don't know whether this "mini"-relaunch will course-correct (I doubt it will), but this article pretty much nails what's wrong with the New 52 for me--including a Legion mention which illustrates the point.
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

That's exactly how I feel as well. There's no sense of legacy or history to build upon in the New 52. I know that most new fans don't give a rat's ass about continuity and old character relationships in comic universes anymore, but it's sad to see the aspect of superheroes I loved the most get erased completely.

I celebrate the new! Just look at the bold design of the comic I hold in my hands! Oh hang on, it's upside down...ah, it is from the 1980s after all...

The premise set up in the JLA preview is interesting to me but I just know it will be a ten year arc that will get cut short because they'll do stupid stuff to get off track and the multi-crossovers that won't make sense so...
So far, I've not found another preview that looks particularly appealing. I'd need at least four or five before it's be worth the trek to the store.

Omega Men looked as though it would have needed an arc to get it's feet under the table. 6 issues may have been about that. Doomed got some credit for having a complete story in it's sneak peek, but I could never see myself buying it. I had looked at Gotham by Midnight for the art before the relaunch. But it was too Bat-connected without much else going for it.
JLU has always looked poor, and the Lobo sneak peek didn't change my thoughts on the character at all.
I see there's a link to an article that tells editorial to stop "Batgirling" Because I don't bother with news sites too often, the very last one I read was all about DC embracing "Batgirling" Clueless as always.
Taking a peek at the Dec solits, I see there's a Dark Knight III. II was panned at the time.
Both Telos and JLA 3001 are prodding around with ideas from the Legionverse.
DC marketing blurb never ceases to irritate. Even the final issue of Omega man has an "epic climax that will change the balance of power in the DC Universe."

I was given OMEGA MEN 1-2. They were basically unreadable.

I liked Gotham by Midnight, as it was basically a Spectre book masquerading as a Bat-book (Bats only cameoed in the first issue). After the first arc, it's meandered a bit though.
I stuck with JLU after the Legion stuff to get a feel for this new Mission Impossible/JL Task Force set up. The concept sounds fun, but the execution isn't quite there yet, but it had potential.
Not reading any of the others. My DC titles will be down to Doctor Fate and Prez now (Prez being a six issue mini, to be followed by another six later, but with sales in the toilet, we'll be lucky to finish the first six).

At the rate they relaunch titles, I think they would be better off switching to primarily video games (I'm not joking). People are interested in these IPs, but not necessarily in the comic book format.
