I've only had a chance to glance at this issue, but I am super excited that the Legion Lost team is back (Timber Wolf, Gates, Tellus, Tyroc, Dawnstar, Wildfire and Yera)!!!! This is the revelation that I've been waiting for since Legion Lost ended and they got left behind.
I'll comment more on the actual story after a reread.

Ok, this issue was just one long fight scene with the Legionnaires thrown in as background filler. Not a lot happened in this issue to further the plot other than the Legion Lost team getting called in as backup.
If continuity mattered (which we discussed last issue doesn't for this writer), one would question why the Legion Lost team was still lost in the 21st century if Brainiac 5 and company can now use time travel again and summon them to help out so easily. Perhaps at least that plot element will be explained in the next issue or so. My guess is they were lost in the time stream until Infinitus opened up the pathway for time travel somehow.
I also wish the Legion got billing on the cover like they did last issue. If you weren't a Legion fan already following you would never know to pick it up. The roll call headshots were ok, but I'd rather they listed the Legion's name instead. The Legion simply isn't getting the recognition they deserve like Geoff Johns did a few years back with Superman and the Legion arc in Action Comics.

more plausible would be that Brainy didn't know where the lost team was until he was in the same time when he received some sort of signal. The Lost team showing up sets this story after Lost ended (and therefore after volume 7 because they were lost throughout that run, so continuity is well screwed - and whatever Mr Lemire says, some of us do care. we need an explanation for why the Fatal Five arc never happened.

Given that the Legion Lost team is portrayed as wearing their current uniforms from the Legion Lost series on the final page of this issue, I wonder why they chose to portray Timber Wolf, Tyroc and Chameleon Girl in their vol. 6 uniforms on the splash page last issue. Could it be that Brainiac 5 was just giving a general overview of the Legion with an outdated memory?
This opens up the possibility that Sun Boy may be still dead if this storyline follows vol. 7 as Silver Age Lad stated above. He was just alive during a flashback memory. But, that doesn't explain how Star Boy is alive again to fight Infinitus or why Phantom Girl is back. Ever since Star Boy's death I've daydreamed that Dream Girl had asked her sister Mysa to use her magic to resurrect Thom. I could really see her doing that. So that is one possible off screen explanation of why Star Boy is alive again. I guess we'll have to see which Legionnaires show up on screen in action through the rest of this storyline to see how much of the vol. 7 Fatal Five arc is still in play.

Other than the aforementioned splash, it was pretty light on the Legion involvement. Liked seeing the Cadre again, even without the not-so-politically-correct "Crowbar", though I doubt they'd give the combined Legion/JLU that much trouble, but then who would?

Because it was awful...? I believe the correct scientific term is "sucked"
First comic books ever bought: A DC four-for-47-cents grab bag that included Adventure #331. The rest is history.

If Thom and Tinya are here, I'd automatically assume that Dirk would still be alive and the Fatal Five urk arc never happened.

But Star Boy isn't there - he was only in the flashback pic which was obviously Brainy reminiscing as the costumes etc were all vol 6 (or to put it another way bad research by the artist)

Wait...wait...weren't the Legion Lost Legionnaires technically Earth 2's "legion"? And aren't these new Legionnaires the NU52 "legion"? Or was the JL3000 technically the NU52 "legion"?
...I'm so confused.

Don't worry Conjy, so am I

Tinya is definitely there, though, which is enough for me to consider the Fatal Five drek as not happening for this version of the Legion unless evidence is presented to the contrary. I'll just consider Thom and Dirk as ALIVE (for this Legion) unless the story specifically says they are dead.

Which incarnation of the Legion is in the Justice League comic? As far as we can tell so far, the Legion appearing in Justice League United is the Retroboot Legion, the supposed continuation of the Original Legion from Earth 1. Unless we discover otherwise, I don't think Bouncing Boy's reference from LSH vol. 7 #23 hinting at the vol. 7 Legion being from Earth 2 is true here. Then again, we may find out that this Legion and the Legion Lost members are from two different dimensions or something. I sure hope not. I'd like to believe that DC would decide that the 3 incarnations of the Legion from Lo3W is enough and leave it at that. Until I find out otherwise I'm just going to believe that this arc is just the continuing adventures of the Original-Retroboot Legion.

I would, in no way, put it past DC to make these Legionnaires yet another incarnation to confuse us with. Though I'd much prefer this to be the continuation of the Original/Retroboot Legion as you said. XD!!

I agree. As long as they erase the crap that was the last Fatal Five story, I'm fine with them making this the continuation of the Retroboot Legion.

Yes, the Retroboot Legion is the continued story of the Original 1958 Legion more or less. It picks up where the Original Legion left off at the end of vol. 3 in 1989 after a jump forwards into the future and some minor alterations.

But didn't they say that it was a different version of the originals? Very close, but not quite or something like that.
I'm just hoping that this gets MUCH better. I know Lemire is the current it guy for DC, but this book has been slooooooooow for me. I don't know whether it's pacing or the static artwork, but I'm not impressed with either.
Reallllllly want a great Legion book, but this ain't it.
Damn you, you kids! Get off my lawn or I'm callin' tha cops!

I agree with you Rick. While I'm happy to see the Legion back and all that, I am not really "feeling" them in this storyline.
We need a stand alone Legion book ASAP!
