These dudes loved each other in a way that I have never loved another man (and few women...): -- Kirk & Spock -- JD & Turk -- Spenser & Hawk -- Richie & Fonzie -- Starsky & Hutch -- Data & Geordi -- Hawkeye & Trapper (BJ was there longer, but he came second) -- Troy & Abed -- Quatre & Trowa -- Holmes & Watson (BBC's "Sherlock")

The guys from Scrubs would have to be the number one, I've seen.
The two from Psych, Shawn and Gus, come pretty close, 'though.
Other Star Trek examples; Archer and Trip, from Enterprise Sisko and Dax, from DS9 (yes, technically she's a hot young woman, and not a 'bro,' but their relationship, him calling her 'old man' and her still regarding him as the young same-sex student, as much as her older opposite-sex commander, had bromance all over it)

I always saw Sisko/Dax as mentor/mentee, but that would certainly qualify. Bashir/O'Brien were definitely bromancing it up all over the place on that show.

Ooh, I forgot Bashir/O'Brien, although there was also Bashir/Garak.
Voyager had Tom Paris and Garrett Wang's character whose name I forget, but they really didn't go anywhere with that.
Sisko and Dax was just awesome because it was all sorts of gender subversive. Various other men on the show, like Bashir, Quark and Worf very much regarded Dax as the 'hot babe,' while, to Sisko, she was always 'the old man.' Terry Farrell strutting all over the place and acting kind of mannish with her body language (grabbing chairs and turning them around to sit on them, for instance) didn't hurt.

For me the all-time greatest is Lucius Varinas and Titus Pullo in HBO's Rome. The great male friendship of the last 20 years on TV.

I tried to rip their soul out.I tried to make them forget Superman. But they won't.

I really like Blaine and Sam on Glee. Their friendship is one of the best things in the later episodes.
The only character in all of literature who has been described as "badnass" while using the phrase "vile miscreant."
