Jeff Lemire writing Legion? This could be good although Supergirl/Legion continuity in the New 52 could be headache-inducing. Glad to see Mon-El has both arms.

Sorry, not sold on it. As long as DC is run by the same people...et cetera.

On one hand, the Legion is back.
On the other hand: the Ranzz kids might be dead, and buying this means I will be choosing to support a book involving Green Arrow that a friend is not working on.

I'm glad to see the Legion back, but a little disappointed that it appears to be picking up from where the team left off. I love that they are meant to the continuation of the silver age team, I was just not overly fond of where Johns took them.
Also, I was hoping that by the time DC came back to the franchise, it would be something a little more impressive - to show that TPTB wanted to really push the team or launch them in a away to get people excited.

At least it looks as if Tinya is back.
The Legion's the only property DC has in which I'm willing to make a leap of faith where a creator I don't religiously follow or an artist I'm friends on is working on the book. I'll try this. Key word being try.
If anything, I'll make sure to read the whole thing at the store, before I buy it, just to play it safe.

It's the Legion, it's a good writer, with any luck they'll be ignoring that atrocious Fatal Five story that closed the last series, and I've been kinda interested in checking out that new Justice League title...so I am looking forward to this!

I'm pleased at what looks to be the Legion that we just left behind (although Mon El is looking much better). If that's the case, I'll buy it. Pennies are what will convince TPTB that this is the Legion we like. Well pennies and vocal "Don't reboot them at the end of the story."

I'm willing to give it a shot to see what happens. But I'm not going to be too optimistic

This is a good idea. I think DC might be moving the Legion to the twenty-first century, in an effort to compete with Marvel Cosmic.

I've very much enjoyed Lemire's work the last few years. Frankenstein, Animal Man & Trillium were all quite good, often outstanding. All 3 have elements that a good Legion comic needs--family, star-crossed romance, improbable team ups, super science, extreme peril, commitment to a larger cause. I've been less thrilled with JLU so far. I love the team members, but the umpteenth reshuffling of Rann/Thanagar/Adam Strange/Hawkman/Byth feels like weak tea to me so far.
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

I bought JLU #0 and #1, then dropped it without regret. I enjoyed JLAmerica, but there is nothing in this new series that appeals to me. IMO, the writing is clumsey, the art uninspired, and the characters (as written) unlikable; moreover, I've never cared for Supergirl in any Justice League. Legion, yes. JL, no.

I'm quite happy they are not re-booting the Legion again. The team was fine. The story not so much. The characters don't make the story. They really didn't need to cancel it before. Just change writers. I agree that the Legion would be a good Cosmic counterpart to Marvels stuff. Green Lantern doesn't do it for me at all.

I agree with you Wanglung. It just needs a new writer. Giving the art to Kevin Maguire for a few issues would be nice too though...

OK... so how can a century be "destroyed"?
And is it just the 31st? What about the 32nd and 33rd, etc?
Or am I being too literal?
Either way... I CANNOT WAIT!!!!

There's a big white anti-matter cloud, sweeping it's way from the far future to our time, erasing the future of the DCU as it goes.
We open with Professor Zoom, a burned herald from the future racing with news of annihilation...

Either way... I CANNOT WAIT!!!! If these characters come from the same universe as the Reboot, then a possible answer is that their timeline was wiped out of existence because of "Flashpoint".

Call me a pessimist, but I don't think this heralds the return of the Legion.
It looks more like another nail in the coffin of the 31st century as we knew it.
Another version of a 31st-century "Legion" already appeared in Superboy, but went nowhere.

Perhaps there will be a multiversity of Legion's flickering around the DCU, trying to warn one past, on one Earth about the villain behind the anti-matter cloud. A villain beginning with M...Marv!

You know, I've got this feeling of dread that you may be right. After all, DC's latest weekly titles are both called "Futures End". And I know that DC has gotten a lot of flack from the fan base over cancelling Legion (not all of which came from just me) so could this be DC's way of eliminating all of their 'potential futures' in favor of just one - the God Awful JLA 3000? Please tell me that no one at DC could possibly be that stupid!

Please tell me that no one at DC could possibly be that stupid! Well, there are 4,300 years in between 2019 (the setting of the upcoming 'Futures End') and 6319 (the year of Abra Kadabra's origin). Of those, the Legion was only extant for 57 years. And yet with 4,243 possible years to choose from, TPTB had to overwrite the Legion with JLA3K. (As well as setting Kamandi and Superman 2964 in exactly the same time period. So, yeah, not too optimistic about the "not stupid".

I guess I'll just be hopefull. At least the artwork looks like Mon-El is whole and it's the one of the Legions I like so I'll take what I can get.

Is it just me or does Garth suddenly look like Daryl (Norman Redus) Dixon, from TV's "The Walking Dead"?
