But all these great reviews have got me very interested in Multiversity!
So my question is - what (if any) references (even completely minor ones) to the DCFU are there in this series? Is it possible to read it and remain completely oblivious to the fact that there even is a DCFU? I want to read it but I worry that even the slightest reference (like one panel showing Superman's ugly costume) would snap me right out of it. Blacula, I have no use for the New52. I tried it and dropped all of it. But Multiversity...it's a finer, richer place. Each story has its own unique tone, and to me, none of it feels like the current DC. Don't let your worry cause you to miss these gems.
"Everything about this is going to feel different." (Saturn Girl, Legion of Super-Heroes #1)

OK everyone, I'm sold! I'll send the therapy bill care of Legion World if Power Boy's panel showing the DCFU in the multiverse sends me over the edge. I may wait until this series is cheaper in back issues before I get into it though. I just remembered the other reason I gave up on new comics - they are hella expensive down here in Australia! I wouldn't be surprised if each issue is at least $10 (especially if they're double-sized).

Knowing your tastes a bit ... I think this is the one or one of the few current comics you should be getting. Especially these two. but 5 bucks gave me sticker shock. Anyway, I read the wikipedia page and got a bit disappointed ... there's only nine ... I thought there might be 52 because they do the side bar that has 52 circles and I think the one that is lit up reflects what Earth this is. Also some other spoiling news ... not a spoiler but ... rotten enough for me to put in spoilers It seems they are designed to be number ones but Morrison won't be the one spinning them off ... am I jaded to think hackery will ensue and we are just being baited by these wonderful number 1s. Some of them have had some disastrous endings ...

Morrison said he deliberately left 7 Earths blank for other writers.

PB - those were the two I'm most interested in! Especially the Captain Marvel one! I've heard really good things about the Watchmen-esque one too (although I think I read a review that spoiled the ending ).

SOCIETY OF SUPER-HEROES lost me about midway through and I skimmed the rest.
THE JUST maintained my interest throughout, but ultimately left me depressed.
I completely skimmed PAX AMERICANA.
THUNDERWORLD ADVENTURES was absolutely great from start to finish!

Hey guys I found a different preview for the Guidebook that has pages from the Kamandi story. http://buzzcomics.net/showpost.php?p=1552607&postcount=11The New Gods feature heavily in this, and it seems they aren't connected to the ones that have been in Earth-2.

Wow, that looks good.
I always love how Morrison uses the New Gods (and always dismissively backhands less impressive appearances by relegating them to 'aspects').
Not sure how he's gotten a lot of these sideways criticisms of the New 52 by, but it's been amusing.

Guys, all I'm saying about the Guidebook right now is that Kingdom Come is still Earth-22, and you have NO IDEA how happy that makes me! If it wasn't it really would've screwed up my writing plans.

Other than that... oh my god you guys it's everything I've ever wanted you have no idea!
Generations! Pirate Earth!
Get this. Earth-50 is no longer the Wildstorm Earth. It's now home to the Justice Lords from Justice League Unlimited! And that's so freaky because I tried incorporating the Lords Earth as one of the 7 Unidentified Worlds, specifically as Earth-24 since Earth-12 is the DCAU Earth!
Also Superboy-Prime is still a thing. Earth-15 was dark on the map because it seems his little temper tantrum that destroyed everything is acknowledged by Morrison. One of the few things to survive Countdown.
Earth-31 isn't the Frank Miller Earth. It turns out it's now home to the Leatherwing Elseworlds, but it's an updated version. Now it's an Earth that got ravaged by tsunamis and earthquakes so it's kind of like modern pirates.
Earth-38 is home to John Byrne's Generations Elseworlds. I should've expected that by the number, 38.
Earth-11 is an entire world where the Amazons were a benevolent influence on the world, thus allowing women to progress much further and shaping the future. The male Wonder Woman is no longer a burly, superviolent asshole like in Countdown. Also instead of Green Lantern it's Star Sapphire, and get this, Power Man is a member of the Justice Guild.

Legion wise, How does the 30-31 centuries fit into these Earths is what I want to know, The new Earth 1 looks promising. What about The Nail/Superboy's Legion, no Earth for them? Where do 5YL, Zero Hour , Three Boot, etc.... fit in ?

I was kind of hoping for the return of the Pre-Crisis Earth 1 (Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes, Supergirl and Donna Troy) and Earth 2 (All-Star Squadron, Original J.S.A. and Infinity Inc.) Or something close.

Apparently we're getting a glimpse of Pre-Crisis Earth-1 stuff in the Convergence event, so presumably it must exist somewhere?

Pretty good issue, even with the huge price tag.
Grant Morrison does the History of the DCU in 5 pages, and even manages to make the lamer events seem cool.
Also, some good connective tissue to tie in the one-shots to the greater narrative.
Morrison obviously couldn't get enough of the League of Sivanas, which is fine by me, they're a blast.

Also, two adjectives that leapt out at me in the dialogue:
"The first Crisis on Infinite Earths"
"The local Multiverse"

Yeah I remember in Booster Gold they mentioned a "Megaverse." I mean the Booster volume that was written by Geoff Johns at the beginning.

I really liked the Phantom Lady design on Earth-10, because it's more reserved and less cheesecake then she's usually known to be. It just seems more appropriate for the setting.
There's this contrast with the New Reichsmen and the Freedom Fighters. The Reichsmen seem dower and humorless, and it's reflected in their costumes. They're all dull Earth-tones, brown, black, and red. It's all kind of muted and military. The Freedom Fighters are more colorful, even though the Phantom Lady's outfit isn't a bright yellow, it's not really muted.
I'm really kind of wondering what Underwater Man is like, if only by the name. My initial guess is that it sounds different in German. I used Google Translate, but I got Unterwasser-Mann.
Also, is there the possibility we might see more Freedom Fighters than advertised in the Guidebook.
Invisible Hood, Red Bee, Magno, Neon the Unknown, Jester, Plastic Man, Max Mercury, Miss America, Red Torpedo, Manhunter, Firebrand.
I'd like to imagine, if they are included and will represent other targets of the Nazi Party, what they might include. Neon could be French-Algerian, Miss America could be a Native American, Firebrand could function as a combination of the first two by being a transwoman. Born Rod Reilly, but changing her name to Danette. Jester could be French, Invisible Hood could be British, Red Bee Indian, what do you think?

Great idea Sarcasm kid love those Quality heroes, would like to see Kid Eternity, Captain Triumph, Lady Luck, Midnight, Spider and others characters that DC never utilized like Wonder Boy, Wildfire, USA, Rusty Ryan, Chic Carter, Madame Fatal and Sniper.
I tried to rip their soul out.I tried to make them forget Superman. But they won't.

Madame Fatal could work as a genderqueer character. It could work as a show that the Freedom Fighters have a good understanding about sexual fluidity instead of just having a single gay member on their team.

Oh! Now I remember this other idea I had.
There was a character called Ghost of Flanders Quality had. Well, what if on Earth-10 this character would LITERALLY be the Ghost of Flanders. A Genius Locii character like Danny the Street. The personification of a town the Nazi Party completely destroyed.
