Was bouncing around the comic websites and ran across interesting news from LYING IN THE GUTTERS. According to Rich Johnston's source, there's a Legion of Super-Heroes TP coming out in 01 December 05 called "A New Rebellion" with Mark Waid as an author.

Has anyone ever heard of this or confirmed if its true? Supposedly the solicit came from a listing in Amazon.

It would be great if they can trade 1-12 for $14.99 or somesuch with extras, kinda like the way they price the Johns Teen Titans TPs. Pricing it at that seems impossible given that we already get a freebie for the additional pages. If not, then fewer issues with some extra bonus material...Barry's sketches!!!!!!!!!! :-D

It's supposed to be issues #1-6. Hopefully, a second trade will come with the second 6 soon after...

Omg, that's perfect for me! The first issue of the new series I bought was # 7.

I am very curious to see if the Shikari pages from TT/LSH are included in it.

I'd think they'd include those, though I understand that for everyone else who's reading the TP--with no prior notion of the Legion that came before--might seem a bit lost.

Come to think of it, I wonder if Shikari would ever meet up with them or it's still just an "out" for the creative team should it happen that this Legion flops...

It's a tough call. My feeling is that the 3 pages of the special after the point where we see the Titans land with their adult counterparts and the page where the Legion of Superheroes comic is ripped up may be omitted from both trade paperbacks. Doesn't make sense to include them in the Titans TPB. And Why would you want to show the last 3 pages of the previous continuity in the Legion TPB?

I'd want to see them, because I completely missed this Teen Titans/Legion crossover thing (maybe because I didn't get the Simone issues, either). I never saw it in stores, or even ever heard about it until I came here. Since I found out about it, I've looked around a bit, but haven't found it. What was it called? What format was it?

edit: But that reminds me... maybe that's also the reasoning behind the missing Man of Steel vol. 4 that was supposed to come out 2 weeks ago (which was to feature the 'Death of Superboy' story from the baxter LSH 37 & 38). Maybe it was thought to be too confusing, showing a Legion two boots ago, so close to the start of a new continuity. Amazon doesn't even have it in their computer, and they have other Superman things due out next January already listed.

I don't understand Amazon, Newsarama makes a game of looking at Amazon for listings of Marvel collections of series that have not yet been announced. However Amazon and the bookstores don't get TPBs for several weeks after they've been released in the direct market as a service by the publishers to the channel. So check again in a month.

As for the special:

It was a 48 page one shot issue. The exact title was Teen Titans - The Legion Special. Cover priced $3.50 US by Johns, Waid, Reis, Campos, Prado. No cover date but TT 16 is dated November. It would probably be filed with Teen Titans in most comic shops because it is important in the flow of stories in that book.

TT 16 is needed if you want to follow the last story of the reboot Legion. At the climax of the story the Titans are sent to the post IC future. There's a text box that says see you next month in TT 17.

The focus goes back to the reboot legion, Shikari is separated from them, they chant Long Live the Legion and fade into white. Shikari emerges in a different place. Those are the 3 pages which may or may not be reprinted. Then the next page a parent ironically rips up his kid's LSH v4 #0.

Yikes, I have to read that... Thanks for the info! I just don't understand how I missed it first time around.

Though, that parent ripping up the comic sounds like an unnecessarily harsh ending for the reboot, which had its moments...

The ripping of the comic is probably the first page of the threeboot. Then there's some pages that introduce us to Lyle and his family.

If (big IF) the pages in question are there, it would lend credence to theories that Shikari has a role to play in the 3boot. Otherwise, we'd probably have to write that scene off as little more than a perpetual cliffhanger, or a doorway left ajar for subsequent writers, which could very well come to naught.

Looks like those pages will NOT be included in the Legion TP after all, but those who want to read it in its entirely *might* be able to do so in the TT TPB. Here are the final solicitations:

TEEN TITANS: THE FUTURE IS NOW TP

I wonder if the 12 extra pages in the Legion TPB will feature Barry's design sheets? nod

That would be awesome but they'll need 6 pages to print the covers to the issues too.

I'd love to see those extra pages used for an introduction, myself. Maybe Waid going into detail about what lead him to reboot the Legion again.

Seems like its been ages since I've seen a TPB with an intro.
