One of the things in DC Comics that I always had a love/hate relationship with was their trend to always try to establish retroactive familial relationships between characters with similar names. While it
was always sort of cool to find out obscure character connections - like, for instance, the fact that Robotman's assistant Chuck Grayson was a cousin to Dick Grayson, or that the new Hawkgirl, Kendra Saunders, was a legacy to the Golden Age character, Speed Saunders - it
did seem a little contrived at times.
That being said, though... hearing some Christmas music this morning, I had a sudden idea for a real-world connection that DC probably missed, which - after finding some previously done research - turns out to have been an actual possibility.
So... it seems that in the 50's DC not
only used to publish the adventures of singer, Pat Boone:
...but
also, his possible ancestral cousin,
Daniel:
Pretty neat!
