In the first two years of the current Legion's existence they had 20 members join that we know of . It seems to me wholy unrealistic to expect that in their third year they will pick up only one new member (the Girl of Steel). I believe the appearance of Blok, Dawnstar, Tyrok, Wildfire, and whomever else will be anomolous, but is it asking too much to expect that we will see some new ring-barers OYL? I have my prefrences, of course -XS, Dragonmage, Quislet- but the UP's new darlings must have expanded their rolls during this time. The question is, will TPTB recognise this?

Sadly I think Blok, Dawnstar and Tyroc will not join. And it's a shame cause their cover may have created more buzz than Supergirl. But yeah we need more members asap. It's a shame we've had 14 issues and learned so little of the members we have. But instead of taking the next 14 issues to learn a little about the current members...throw me new members. This roster is WAY too early Legion for many readers. Including me!

Jorge, I think you nailed it. I know so little about these characters that I tend to fill in the blanks with leftovers from their previous incarnations. I think the creators missed an opportunity, well, missed the boat, really, because it IS time to see new members. Especially since we have no guarantee that Supergirl (Whoever she is this time...) will stick around. I'm hoping that the Animated Series will do well if for no other reason than to keep her (as one of many, not as First Among Equals). And if she has to spend six months out of the year in the 21st Century, all the better. More room for the new members, be it reboots or originals, to be fleshed out. Maybe we'll even find out who Element Lad is somewhere along the way...

I disagree wholeheartedly. I'd much rather see the 20 members we already have fleshed out before adding any more new ones. So far we know very little about anyone. If they add more members that's going to get worse before it gets better.

Actually we're down to 18 members.
I've read interviews with Waid in which he hints at new members joining in the second year of the title, including one whose name always makes some other DC guy laugh every time he hears it.
Since I also recall Waid saying something about using already-existing alien races in the DCU, I've been trying to come up with ideas for characters that draw from species we've seen before. (I actually started a thread along those lines a while ago; it went absolutely nowhere.) How about a Legionnaire from Kilowog's race? Chemical Poozer or something.

I've wanted a Khund to be in the Legion since I was a kid.

I think the team should have about twenty-five members. So I'd be happy with five to seven new members.

I can do without them for awhile. It took decades to build up the Legion the first time, I at least, can wait awhile longer.

Krypton Kid, I am worried about the animated series. It may be too old school. I mean I heard Bouncing Boy's name. Matthew E, I would love to see someone from Kilowog's race join! Maybe he can replace Blok in my heart. Stratum, I always wanted to see a Khund also. Infact I wanted to see the young Khund child the White Witch was training! A Khund magician! Warlock Lad!

What's wrong with Old School Legion? The Legion was at it's best when it was old shool.
Bring me back the days of the Miracle Machine and the Molecule Master!
I seem to remember some Khund members before.. it didn't work to well.
How about a thanagarian or tamaranean legionnaire?

Doc, I'm for a super big cast. You can have Thangarian's and Tamaranean's, etc! And I liked the Khund v4 guys...atleast Veilmist. I can't get into the old school stuff. My problem with the current old school lineup is "why"? This is a Legion...why can't we have more variety...much more! Plus they've managed to alienate fans of other eras. I know Waid and Kitson grew up with the Adventure Legion...but many other people did not. Lets have more members!!! Again look at the buzz that Dawnstar, Tyroc, and Blok cover caused. There are MANY fans that only know Cockrum and Levitz. They need to go for the 40 and under fans a bit more.

Now that I think of it, it wouldn't have been too hard for them to make Monstress one of Kilowog's people. Not too late to do it in this reboot!
