Okay - I'm sure nobody else saw this, noticed or cares but I have something to get off my chest. A few days ago, on his MSNBC show Hardball, Chris Matthews did a story on Liz Cheney's senate run. He said that her father was sending her to Wyoming "like Marlon Brando and Eva Marie Saint sent their child to Earth in Superman."
In the 1978 Superman movie, Jor-El was played by Marlon Brando. Lara was played by Susannah York.
Eva Marie Saint appeared as Martha Kent in 2006's Superman Returns. The film also used some stock footage of the now deceased Marlon Brando as Jor-El.
Eva Marie Saint and Marlon Brando never appeared on screen together in that film.
Marlon Brando and Eva Marie Saint starred together in the 1954 classic, On the Waterfront. In that film they didn't have a baby or send anyone to Earth.
I don't know that any of this has anything at all to do with Liz Cheney. Regardless, I needed to set the record straight.

When I think of her, I think of North by Northwest in which one simply cannot stop staring at her, the incredible combo of beauty, talent and class.
Both that movie, and On the Waterfront, are two of my all time favorites!

That's odd. If I am remembering "On The Waterfront" correctly, everyone else in that movie were sending children to Earth. Or was that "North by Northwest"? I get those two mixed up all the time.

Toledo is in Northwest Ohio and Eva Marie Saint went to uni close to here so I think it was the second movie, North by Northwest.
However, Martin Sheen's character in Apocalypse Now did tell Marlon Brando that he was from Toledo (Sheen, not Brand) so maybe it was On the Waterfront?
Can we talk about time travel?

I can't listen to Matthews. He thinks everything he says has to be screamed at the top of his lungs. Kinda like Hannity on steroids. Haven't watched the news or 'news' shows in over a decade. Life is much nicer.

Since you bring up Toledo, I have to share this: mr_cleome rolls his eyes every time Journey sings about the boy, "Born and Raised In South Detroit." Says my better half: Everyone I know would refer to "South Detroit" as Toledo.Of course, to me if there's no ocean within a three-hour drive, it doesn't exist anyway.
