Long time Legion fan from the 70's and more of a lurker than posting content. Very sad to see the LSH end their run, but LSH was getting stale and needed a major change. I can only hope that there is a Justice Legion in September. As much as I rather not, but can see why not. LSH purist fans seem many, but not enough to keep a team in the future going without attracting new readers. That means as LSH purist we have to compromise adding heroes with connections from the 21st century to surviving members of the old LSH. Many people may remember the "Justice Legion Alpha" (JLA), created by Grant Morrison in 1998. Justice League Alpha In the 853rd century the institutions of the Justice League of America and the Legion of Super-Heroes have developed into the Justice Legions, various teams of superhumans who act to protect our galaxy. The highest ranking of these is the Justice Legion Alpha who have their base on Jupiter and are responsible for protecting the solar system; (the second rank is Justice Legion Beta, the third is Justice Legion Gamma, and so on.) While Alpha resembles the JLA, other Legions resemble teams such as the Teen Titans, Young Justice, the Legion of Super-Heroes, the Legion of Super-Pets, etc. I think you could create a comic with multiple Justice Legions based throughout the Galaxy. (e.g. GL Corp) Proposed team for Justice League Alpha: Brainiac 5 - kind of burned out on Brainiac 5, but he seems to be the ideal person who creates a new team. Superboy - not the clone, but the son of Superman and Lois Lane from Superboy #19 that changes to a hero again. Dark Knight - yes Decillionaire (33 zeros) descendant of Bruce Wayne and main financier of Justice Legion bases around the galaxy. Wonder Girl - aka Donna Troy - fans have been waiting for the reappearance of Donna. Why not being a descendant of Wonder Woman. White Lantern - ancestor of Hal Jordan and Carol Ferris, and "she" has mastered the seven colors of the emotional spectrum into her ring. Hourman - from Grant Morrison 853rd century creation Hourman - android Harmonia - Elemental – this characters has been poorly used, especially with the elemental powers she has. Justice Legion Beta – for example: Monel, Cosmic Boy, Element Lad, Martian Manhunter descendant, Stargirl descendant, Comet – not the super horse, but a decendant of Captain Comet. I think if they did re-introduce Justice Legion with multiple teams based throughout the galaxy would allow the writer and artist to have different storylines with different teams….and attract readers from Justice League, Green Lantern, Batman and Superman readers....

the real question is, will Legion World become Justice Legion World?

Legion World will be moved 22,300 miles above the Earth.
I'd actually be kind of up for a title that features folks like Laurel Kent, Brane Taylor, Jordana Gardner, XS, etc.

I will not buy a Justice Legion book. Seconded. A part of my childhood would die if I picked up a book that was a mockery of my favorite comic of all time.

The only way I'd buy a Justice Legion type title is if it contains the current characters from the Legion, maintains the continuity of the series and the universe, and is not a reboot with re-engineered characters. If the new title flows naturally from the LSH, then I would give it a try. If it is a complete reboot and reset of characters and timeline, then I will consider Legion #23 the definitive end of the Legion franchise.

I will buy it if it is good. I will judge "good" by the third issue.

I wouldn't mind it if Mon-El or a resurrected Rond Vidar became part of the team as a Green Lantern again. Levitz tried to bring in the Green Lanterns but powers that be never let it stick.

Timber Wolf would actually be the closest member to a Batman arch type and Dawnstar would fill Hawkman's shoes...

I would have to see what the actual concept was and who it had in it. If it didn't feel like the Legion to me, I probably wouldn't buy it. Especially if it contained most of the new Legionnaires added in this run...

If they ever do make one, I hope they don't limit the number of members on the roster...

It all comes down to what kind of stories people want. Some people have dropped Hickman's Avengers because they find it slow and plot-driven. They would rather the team focus on a few characters than see their favorite characters only be in the background.

There already is a similar concept to Justice Legion with the Batman Beyond Justice League.

The large roster is part of the appeal of the Legion for me. It's to be expected if you are dealing with a galactic civilization. During the Reboot Legion, the President's initial idea of drafting Legionnaires from every UP member world actually makes sense.
So limiting the membership to a core 5 or 7 members seems redundant to me and goes against one of the core principles of the team's existence.
And like you said Power Boy, I'm not reading Justice League either!

I just watched Star Trek, into the Drakness!
I could totally see a Justice Legion ... like star fleet which focused on a *flagship* 8 or so amongst a larger cast. But I don't see why it has to be Superfool and Bat Deus Ex Machina ... etc.

Isn't that what we typically get anyways? And then everyone complains about focusing on the same five or six characters all the time and then never using anyone else?

Here's how I would do it, if I had to.
After the disastrous attacks of the Fatal Five, Brainiac 5 decides that what the 31st century really needs are experienced, adult heroes to defend it. Traveling back in time, he obtains mental holo-engrams and DNA samples from:
(1) Superman (2) Batman (3) Wonder Woman (4) Green Lantern (John Stewart) (5) The Flash (Barry Allen) (6) Aquaman (7) The Martian Manhunter (8) Cyborg (9) The Atom (Ray Palmer)
Returning to the 31st century, he sets up a makeshift laboratory among the ruins of the LHQ. Due to the modern technology of accelerated growth chambers, it will only take a few days to produce copies of the 21st-century heroes.
However, about half-way through the process, (fill in your favorite group of villains) attack the ruined Legion Headquarters, and Brainiac 5 is forced to end the process early. As a result, the heroes are only about half the age of their primaries- that is, mostly 14-15 years old—and their personality / memory / experience downloads are somewhat incomplete, causing them to differ in subtle ways from the originals. Furthermore:
(1) The Superman clone, having absorbed insufficient yellow sun radiation, is only at about 50% of his max power levels. In addition, he needs a suit of Kryptonian body armor to reach peak efficiency. (2) The Batman clone is highly suspicious and skeptical, due to his concern about manipulation of his mind, and a recognition of the false memories downloaded into it. (3) The Wonder Woman clone, without Amazonium Bracelets, is in a permanent state of berserker rage. (4) The Green Lantern clone needs a power battery and ring. (5) The Flash clone still needs a lightning / chemical trigger in order for his powers to manifest. (6) The Aquaman clone is pretty much OK. (7) Due to the differences of Martian physiology, the Martian Manhunter clone has an apparent age and maturity of about five years. (8) The Victor Stone clone is just an ordinary human, with an apparent age of eleven or twelve. Brainiac 5 has been building him a 31st-century exoskeleton / powersuit, but it is only half-finished. (9) Due to Imskian technology, the Ray Palmer clone has inherent size changing / mass control, and does not miss his white dwarf matter costume.
The Brainiac 5 and the underpowered Superman, as well as Batman, Aquaman, and Atom manage to defeat (fill in your favorite group of villains), in part by pointing the berserker Wonder Woman at them, and the arrival of Cyborg, with his partially-functioning powersuit.
After the battle, an Oan shows up with a power battery and ring, and Brainiac 5 begins the process of fully empowering and “fixing” the remainder of the Justice Legion.
This ends up with 10 characters in "Brainiac 5 and the Justice Legion", and is not really an improvement.

Noted: in the original concept of the DC One Million Justice Legion, we infer that there are at least fifty separate Justice Legions, each with twenty or more members. (That is a thousand characters!)
Justice Legion Alpha Justice Legion Beta Justice Legion Gamma . . . Justice Legion Omega Justice Legion-A Justice Legion-B . . . Justice Legion-S (the Superboy Legion) . . . Justice Legion-Z
...and maybe other alphabets as well. Hebrew? Arabic? Cyrillic? Sanskrit?

Timber Wolf would actually be the closest member to a Batman arch type and Dawnstar would fill Hawkman's shoes... Hawkgirl was the hawk star of the DCAU, and likely those are the 7 iconics they're going for first, so Dawnstar is probably filling her shoes. I can see them giving her the Nth-metal mace.
