I suppose I will hang in there for it. Do YOU plan to?
Why or why not, if you feel like telling...

I haven't missed a cancelation yet! Sometimes the Wake is a good healing process when experienced with family.

I will stay with the Legion until #23 (the END) so I can finish my retroboot Legion collection and call things completed on this end of things. Then my mission will be to fill in the gaps with missing issues from the original Legion in the 1970's and 80's.

Hmm... other than The Legion, which I only returned to for Gail Simone's groovy closing arc, I don't think I've ever actually bought the last issue of a Legion series as it came out!
It may depend on what we're in for next...

Er... though since I haven't actually bought the last issue yet, I may already be out! But I'm thinking about picking up the next one, so we'll see...

I'll be here for the end as I have most everytime before. (The only exception was Legion Lost Vol. 2, which I bailed on with number 8 or 9.)
Still "Lardy" to my friends!

Bonus last-issue incentive for me is KEVIN MAGUIRE art on a LSH tale.

Yeah it's a shame the Maguire art has to be on the last issue, but I will be there for it!

Yep, I'll be there. Sigh.
Why are you laughing at me? It's unkind, as well as puzzling!

Where else would I be? First issue? Last issue? Somewhere in between? v. 1? v. 4? v. 7? Line it up and lay out. I'm an addict with a habit. Legion slut extraordinaire. Make mine Legion.

We should hold classical funeral games on Legion World for it.

I haven't been buying it lately, mainly because Levitz's plots were lacking. Was going to pick this week's issue but seeing this news, yeah, have to buy it till the end now.

Wow, tonight on the LW Facebook page was really emotional. I did my best to deflect all the cries of outrage and turn them into a chance for folks to praise their favorite issues. In turn, I myself got more and more wrapped up into those fantastic back-issue memories.
I'm kinda emotionally worn out now, but I think it was worth it. Lots of love expressed on the FB page tonight. (I'm sure the outrage is coming though)
But it certainly cemented for me that I *WILL* stay until the bitter end.
And if a Giffen/DeMatteis/Maguire LSH-esque team is to take the place of LSH (see BLEEDING COOL for the full rumor)? Well, I'm there, because I *love* the Giffen/DeMatteis/Maguire team!

It'll be fun, in a morbid way, to watch the end together with all of you...

As others have said of course I'll be here at the end.
Where else would I be?

I'm out ... but I'll be back for the end, if just to attend the funeral of this version, and to adore KM's pouty lipped Dream Girl.
I imagine her behind the scenes like an actress who wants her own stylist ... demanding Kevin Maguire who draws lovely women! Diva!
However, you KNOW we are all falling into the sales trap! The massacre of our favorite heroes is rewarded by us buying the issues!!!!
What's a fan to do.

I suffered through DnA and 21st Century Shooter, I can handle this. I hope.

Not much left to say after collecting since ADV.310. I got old, they got older, and the industry grew up, up, and away leaving us behind. Nostalgia is not the coin of this realm, and a dystopia-darkened, gutted version of the LSH holds no appeal to me. It sure was a very, very long and (mostly) great ride while it lasted! Thanks.

(I'm sure the outrage is coming though) Yesterday was really extraordinary! I'm really pleased that I was coincedentally off work yesterday to experience it both here and on FB the way I did. I've found myself drawn lately to the other Legion fan groups on Facebook. It started out as an effort to recruit more people to register and post here, but it's morphed into something else. So interacting with a wide spectrum of Legion fans on what was a very sad day for many of them touched my heart. I think that even though there's no way the Legion will go away altogether (even if the "Justice Legion" rumor isn't true), I now know, more than ever, that this IS a very real ending for the Legion as we know it. The LSH will never enjoy any longterm success in any permutation ever again. DC has officially tried everything (though you can argue that in several efforts it's been half-hearted). We've had two scorched continuity reboots, 5YL and DnA softboot darkenings and had classic creators return who were extremely successful with the LSH in the past return and fail. There was even an attempt to restore what arguably should never have been undone in the first place. All of these failed, guys. Nothing's ever gonna work for more than a year or two, ever again. And I seriously doubt that DC cares enough to put the time, effort and creative juice necessary to make the LSH the hit it once was again. It would take nothing less than what Marvel has done for Guardians of the Galaxy. Put your number one writer on the book, couple him (or her) with some of the best artists in the business and make sure every reader out there think it's the most important launch since Cockrum and Wein introduced the new line-up of the X-Men. DC will never do this with the Legion. Even then, we still don't know if this will work for GotG longterm. I mean, they've got the upcoming movie, as well, to give it that extra juice. But it's still possible it won't be around 2 years from now. That's the state of our Legion. At best we have short-lived relaunch after short-lived relaunch to look forward to in the future of our beloved superhero franchise. Whatever happens next, it's a sad time to be a Legion fan. IMO, the lowest point in the history of our fandom.
Still "Lardy" to my friends!
