Here is the Preview for Legion #18. The sneak peak shows how folks on Earth react to our current disaster... Plus a surprise reveal as to who was elected Deputy Legion Leader. Also, I didn't realize until I saw this preview that Giffen isn't on pencils for this issue after all. He and Levitz are co-plotters.

The destruction here is sure remiding me of what Tyroc, Dawnstar, Timber Wolf and the rest of the Legion Lost gang discovered when they visited the future in Legion Lost #10. What do you bet that issue was a preview of this storyline after all?

Harmonia as deputy? Interesting. Hope this will let us learn more about her. Maybe her mysterious immortal past will be revealed.

My Harmonia hate aside ... I don't see why that took 4 pages.

Oh dear we may have lost another one.
This issue was another step in the right direction if not quite as good as last month, but that could be the art which was not good in places.
They do seem to be re-telling the Magic Wars with the whole technology falling part but on a far larger scale and with a better villain (hopefully).
The best bit though is there is a real sense that things have gone horribly wrong and the place is very dangerous as a result. Dirks death last issue may have seemed to have been for shock value but after the events this issue and the (possible, unseen) death of another member it suggests a touch of realism has being added to the book. If things are falling apart and you put yourself in the middle of that then bad things are going to happen which is what this issue shows.
That's not to say the book is without fault though as its not. The art, as I have already mentioned, is very poor in places with some of the female Legionnaires especially looking very strange. Also some of the dialogue is a bit off in places with a description of Tharoks technology being particularly clunky and a discussion involving Rokk and a female Legionnaire that I hope is foreshadowing because if its not then it makes no sense at all.
On the whole though another decent issue that makes me want to want to read he next one as soon as possible, something I haven't easily been able to say recently, and not just because of the possibility of Mysa appearing.

It looks like another Legionnaire has died, and Levitz foreshadowed it in LSH #16. Very chilling if true. Also the notion that headquarters gets looted is foreshadowed in Legion Lost #10. Whatever new reality that Levitz is creating for the Legion has been building for some time.
Not sure what to think. All I know is that Giffen was right when he said no one in the Legion would be safe. I just pray that Dream Girl's visions of many dead do not come true.
I wish LSH #19 were out already so I could continue reading this story. I am stuck at the edge of my seat worried over the safety of every single member of the Legion at this point. One silver lining, the Legion Lost team have escaped going through hell by being stuck in the past. At least we can be confident that Tyroc, Timber Wolf, Dawnstar, Gates, Tellus, Wildfire and Yera will at least be around to re-form the Legion, because no one else is a sure bet at this point.

It seems to me very stupid to murder the classic legionaries , when they have all these bad and unpopular characters (Comet Queen, Harmonia, Dragonwing, Glorith and Chemical Kid) to kill. I believe that they have forgotten to rescue Comet Queen of the infirmary, unless she recovered off panel and finds talked by her own. The art for Scott Kolins is of mediocre for below like of custom ... his Dream Girl is horrible. Violet continues having the brown hair instead of black. And I suppose that the Empress Emerald will eliminate another legionnaire in the next issue ... maybe Mon-El or the own Shriking Violet.. And maybe Blok and The Black Witch are in dangerous too... Definitively if The Legion remains decimated of his classic ones giving place to a new generation, They will stop being my Legion... And as many fans, not only I will not buy the new title, that I will stop buying everything edited by DC Comics (Batgirl, Supergirl, Justice League, Vibe, Justice League Of America, Earth 2, The World's Finest, The Ravagers). The only hope is that with the advent of the event Multiuniverse, the things change for better and let's recover all the characters dead (Sun Boy, Star Boy) and removed from the title (Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad, Projectra, Colossal Boy, Matter Eater Lad, Quislet). I know...another Reboot...but maybe is the only solution.

I...I really don't know how I feel about this issue. On the one hand, I won't lie and say I'm not interested in what's going to happen, but that's only because I'm worried about whether my favorite characters are going to live. That's not interest so much as trepidation; I'm not really invested in the story...not really. Not the way others seem to be. I know everyone seems to really be enjoying this new plot but it's starting to feel like an excuse to kill beloved characters or make way for some huge reboot or something.
I just don't know how to feel about it.

Thanks for helping to cancel the title. Just saying... You're welcome. I am totally fine with this being cancelled. I've bought two issues of this soft boot. Better cancelled than published by DC right now. I try to keep up with what's going on but really I would rather my favorite characters not be written or drawn poorly. If low sales cancels the book then that sends a message DC has fumbled it. The Legion will be back eventually. Hopefully better someday. Until then I've got my back issues!!!

I think it seems that way too. Do you? It's nice to know I'm not alone. This all seems... cheap. These aren't heroic deaths. These aren't (so far) epic battles. And I don't like that feeling. My favorite characters are allowed to die...but I think they should go out like HEROES. Not like freakin' editorial CANNON FODDER. /rant

OK, the teaser for next week says that Emerald Empress does the "unthinkable"...
We've already had Sun Boy EATEN. Are they really going to top (or, as the case may be, bottom) that?

Thanks for helping to cancel the title. Just saying... People who buy crap comics instead of voting with their wallets are why we have crap comics. Given the fact I've followed the Legion for the most part since the early 1980's and that I have to drive 100 miles to the nearest comic shop to pick up my comics, I'm not going to leaf through a copy of LSH and leave it sitting on the shelf just because my favorite artist hasn't drawn a certain issue. You may think the Legion is crap comics, but a real fan will support the title because of a love of the characters over like or dislike of certain writers or artists. By no means do I like everything published, but I care for the Legion. That's why I buy these "crap comics" and follow posts on Legion World. When the Legion is cancelled as you guys hope I'll quit collecting new comics and I'll quit posting and reading Legion World forums. The Legion is the only title I've ever collected (except for Atari Force) and I plan to support the title whether crap or brilliance until it is cancelled again.

Not like freakin' editorial CANNON FODDER. /rant I agree that Sun Boy's death last issue and Star Boy's apparent demise this issue seem below the valor of super heroes. At least Sun Boy died saving his team mates. Star Boy was taken with no heroics at all. What's worse, he just recovered from a multi-year bout of mental illness and just went out on a limb to save Dream Girl and Brainiac 5 only a couple of issues to go. The fact that no one tried to rescue him in return is pure madness. Nonetheless, Giffen promised that the Legion would go through a quasi-reboot from within the framework of current storylines, and that no one would be safe. While I don't like the apparent death of these two characters and the hint of more to come, I am intrigued to see where Levitz is trying to take the Legion. Apparently he has major plans unfolding especially since he has Cosmic Boy comparing these events to the Great Darkness Saga of the 1980's. Next issue will be an interesting read even if it makes me want to pull my hair out.

You may think the Legion is crap comics, but a real fan will support the title because of a love of the characters over like or dislike of certain writers or artists And this is why recent DC fiascos like Giffen quitting LSH, Diggle quitting Action Comics, Zubkavich being fired off Birds of Prey, Venditti being fired off Constantine and Fialkov quitting GLC and Red Lanterns after being announced but all before a single issue of their runs was published due to editorial meddling is water off a duck's back to the editors in question.

was it ever explained ... how Star Boy injured his leg? I don't think it was explained. Dreamy showed up carrying him over her shoulders in v.6 #11, then he underwent treatment by Brainy and Harmonia Li (lucky he didn't explode) and was used to release some multiversal energies... for a while, he was in a wheel chair, then he started to walk a bit. I suspect he hurt himself in the 21st century as schizophrenic Starman; either it was off-panel or I just don't recall.

LSH #17 to me was s little like a whirring can-opener to a cat: at last, something interesting!
This issue- meh.
Same old cat-food.
Next time we have a DC/Marvel crossover, I want it to take place in the Hostessverse

I was being a bit cynical in my question. poor Star Boy, killed by an ailment that was never explained! it's almost funny. At least he didn't explode hahaha
