Cobalt Kid stands disconsolate at the bedside.
“Doctor, are you sure?”
Dr One looks up from the medical scanner and nod’s grimly.
“ I’m afraid so. You did remarkably well young man, but I don’t know if it will be enough”
Gigglebot Girl stood silent at the window of the isolation ward looking in helplessly towards the figure inside. She turned to Cobalt Kid, and for the first time since she had joined the LMBP she was no longer smiling, no longer the happy giggler.
“Cobalt what exactly happened?” she demanded.
“I’m not sure Gigi” replied Cobalt, “I arrived at the old LMB headquarters, just after it was destroyed. The Gay Green Giant had pulled Faraway from the rubble but he was hardly breathing, I tried to use my healing powers but he was too far gone. When Yellow Kid arrived he placed him in a time bubble and we got Faraway here as quick as we could”
Dr One interrupted, “and it’s a good job you did. As far as we can tell it is only the time bubble that is preserving Faraway. If we remove the time bubble he will die”
“No” sobbed Gigglebot as she collapsed into the manly arms of Poverty Lad.
“But Doctor” continued Cobalt, “this is the best medical centre in the Galaxy, surely you can do something”
“I’m afraid not” replied Dr One, “don’t you understand, the time bubble enveloped Faraway at the last millisecond of his life. If we remove the bubble he will die before anyone can start to treat him”
“Doctor” said Kent Shakespeare, who had just joined the room, “I just heard the news. Do we know what’s wrong with Faraway?”
“No” said the Doctor, “the time bubble that’s keeping him alive is preventing any of our machines from performing a diagnostic. I feel this is truly the end for Faraway, he may never be an active member of the LMB again”

Why is it that Evil always feels the need to gloat?

I have to be here to renew the field at least once a day. It's not really stasis, I'm holding him static in the time stream it's a pretty tricky maneuver. I don't dare let Far slip away any further, he's too crucial to our mission to take any chances.
Bob...umm...3G I need you to take the Primary Colors and see if you can find Superman's old Phantom Zone projector, surely we can preserve Faraway lad in the Zone. I DON'T CARE IF BLUE MUTHA AND RED MENACE DON'T LIKE THE LEGION. JUST DO IT!! ...Bob...I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shout. It's just that I'm so worried.
Cobie? I know this might be hard for you but can you get the Mistress of Avalon here to try her healing powers on poor Darden? She was a Legionnaire once maybe she'll remember that.
I hear there's a techinque on Daxam that might work to revive the dead...if it comes to that. Please gang, we need somebody on that. Disaster Boy?..here's your chance to do the right thing and make up for your part in this horrible tragedy. Go with a Legion team to Daxam. You'll know what to do when you get there. (cryptic comment, eh?)
That's three teams in action. Anybody else have an idea?
I don't think we want to use those stupid metal rods on the lightning world but it may come down to that if nothing else works.

Legion Worlder's, why don't we just take the doctor and the diagnostic machine back in tme and make sure they are enveloped in the time bubble at the same time as Faraway. It will be a tricky operation, requiring absolutely perfect timing, in fact it will require someone with super timing. Do we have an Accuracy Lass or an Anal Retentive Lad to help with the logistics? If it doesn't work, who gets Faraway's Legion World digs?

Well, it's dangerous to change the past. I ran some temporal diagnostics, and if we save Faraway in the past, the time ripple will have a most disasterous effect on the present. Specifically, Crujectra's bosom will no longer be ample.

What? How in Houston are we supposed to find something from some wierdo alien that lived a thousand years ago? Oh. The Batcave you say? Where in the name of Glorith's pointy shoulder pads would that be? Oh. A suburb of Metropolis you say? Well, that certainly narrows it down.
*Triple G hyperpaths her/his team mates on the ground and arranges to meet at the Batman Museum*
Red Menace - Oh,hey this is cool. Why would they call him Batman if he wore a red and green outfit with a yellow cape and no pants?
Big Blue Mean Mutha - You idiot that's his boyfriend's outfit.
Red Menace - I'm confused.
[color:99cc33]Gay Green Giant[/color] - That's the way it ought to be. Now zip it and look for something that looks like a big red stewpot on a tripod with buttons on it.
I'm too sexy for my shirt.

Dear me! Poor Faraway! In the meantime, here's some Chicken-of-Space Soup - it might help.

Would it help if I used my groWTH powers to expand Faraway's last second into a few hours? That should give Dr. One plenty of time to run diagnostics and figure out what, if anything he can do.
