Hi folks ...

I'm sorry I haven't been posting much since the Election ... Between my newspaper reporting job (I'm even writing this from work, during a brief downtime) and my S.O., my online time lately has been pretty limited.

But I still hope to be an active LMB applicant again soon - probably after Thanksgiving, when things slow down here for a few weeks.

I hope people don't think I lost interest because I lost the election.

I'm also hoping my girlfriend applies here in the near future. She's not a comic book fan - although she just saw (and loved) The Incredibles, and I've started teaching her about the DCU.

Her first lesson: the JLA and the Crime Syndicate. Kurt and Ron did such a great job with JLA 107 that it seemed like the perfect starting point.

And with the Legion starting anew, she won't have to worry about learning 40 years of history.

She's an infectious disease specialist at a hospital. Methinks "Infectious Disease Lass" might be a fitting monicker ...

Also, I know it's early, but is anyone else planning to go to WizardWorld Boston next fall? If so, how about we have a meeting of the New England LMBers?

Best,

Mike

Good to see you around Kid. There has already been talk of a Wizard World Boston meet, so it looks like you may be in luck there!

Best of luck converting your girlfriend. Always good to have new fans on board, and the Legion relaunch will be a perfect jumping on point for her.

Things happen which cause us to take off from LW for awhile, CK. I don't think anyone thought the election had anything to do with it.

Nice to see you back.

Yeah, I mean Prime hasn't been around much either and he won the election! Sometimes life just gets in the way of posting.

Thanks ...

I'll be back soon. I promise. The LEGION was among the first comics I got into as a teenager. And it's nice being part of a real Legion of sorts, 20 years later.

With a little luck, I'll return with a newbie ... I've tried to explain the basics to her (i.e., the code name reflects the powers). Hoping today to show her the recent TT preview of Mark and Barry's work.

Best,

Mike

Cool.

If your comic shop carries it, also look out for the DC Horizon freebie. The most recent one has a six-page preview of the new #1.

Actually, she says she likes the name Infectious Lass ...

I loaned her my loose-leaf WHO'S WHO books, as well as WORLD WITHOUT GROWN-UPS.

Most of the material is outdated, but the basic history has stayed the same.

And YK - a Long Live the Legion! back atcha!

Good to see you CK! Hopefully you'll be back soon to full time posting, but don't worry, we know how life gets in the way and stuff laugh

Looking forward to your fulltime return!

Thanks, Cobalt ...

In the meantime, I'll try to post a photo in the Members' Photos thread sometime this week.

Looking forward to returning to the active roster in the near future ...

Long Live the Legion!

Mike
