You know I do say Waid and Kitson have captured that Legion "spirit" that seemed gone. But Simone and Jurgens did as well. It wasn't a reboot but that last arc I felt like I was reading something in the middle of the Levitz run. There was no rehashing either in that last arc. Jurgens drew the teenagers like how I like them. His reasoning? These are superhero teenagers. all the adult superheroes are not built to look like average adults why should teen heroes look like average teens. Did the last series have to end so well??? I hope if we get a fill in writer Gail returns. And one day when Waid leaves I vote for her take on this team. Heck I wouldn't mind Jurgens filling in for Kitson every blue moon either! (Gail's Legion rocked)

I got the feeling that the story arc was wrapped up before it was supposed to, like the editors said End it in 3 (or 4). It was the start of a decent build-up and then everything got wrapped up in that last issue.
We never really got to understand why the villians were doing what they were doing or why they were emulating heroes of the past. There were some good things and I definitely enjoyed it more than that "CREEDO" stuff, but in the end I found it a bit lacking simply because of what I saw as a forced wrap-up. They could have extended that at leat an issue more instead of letting us twist in limbo without a title.

Yeah I agree it felt short. But Gail's general take on the members was good IMO.

It did fall a bit short. I thought Gail got a good handle on some of the character like Brin and Brainy but overall I thought she wrote them a bit bland. I especially found The Persuader's paternal change of heart in the end a little bit cheesy.
Dan Jurgen's art was a bit lacking for me as well. He didn't really have the interesting visual take on 30th century society that I expect in legion artists.
To its credit, the arc did showcase nice moments for Dreamy and Infectious Lass so kudos to Gail for that!

I thought Gail's story and Jurgen's art was awesome. It really 'felt' like the Legion again, and like Jorg, I think it seemed lke it could have been smack-dab in the middle of Levitz's run. A lot going on and lots of good character moments...I hope Gail gets a chance to do some more Legion work again sometime.
I am LOVING Waid/Kitson too, BTW.

I want her back too, and NOT because she was supposed to send me (and a few others here) a signed copy of THE LEGION # 37! Plenty of room for Gail-written backups with 30 pages a month. Maybe we will see some. Meanwhile, I'm digging BoP big-time.

I didn't think Gail's work was bland at all...she was writing a small, self-contained arc and did it very well. And I loved her Timber Wolf, personally.
I'm stuck on WaK right now, but Gail should be #1 for fill-ins.

Gail's story probably would have been much more interesting if all of the consequences of it hadn't been negated by the news of the upcoming re-reboot.
And I despised her increased Wolverining of Timber Wolf.

I was a big fan of Gail's story and her characters. Even though there were 4 issues devoted, I wished for more time to explore everyone. The art was good, but flawed. It inspired me to do "re-do's" and I gave copies of this art to Gail herself. My dream would be for Gail to email me and tell me that she wants to hire me to illustrate a comic story for her....

I thought that story was awful and am trying hard to forget it.
And just how the heck did it supposedly tie in with the reboot?

I was also extremely disappointed in FNBR. For all the problems I have with WaK's new LSH, it's still far more dynamic, thought-provoking and authentic than the Simone/Jurgens effort, imo.

There's a nice article on Gail in the new issue of BUST magazine. It's a 'feminist' magazine, but boys will like it too! I bought it because my girl Amy Sedaris is on the cover!

I'm with Mllash on this... I want Gail back too and not because of the signed comics we won. I've liked her on everything I've read of hers. BoP is great, and that's a book that I had previously swore off before Gail started writing it. She did some good work on Deadpool/Weapon X, and I liked her Legion story too. I think she brings a great perspective to her stories and would love to see her on the Legion again.
That said... I'm slowly coming around to Waid and Kitson. They haven't "grabbed" me yet with their threeboot, but thay haven't sent me screaming from the store either. I've just got this, "Its building" feeling with them... and that takes time.

And just how the heck did it supposedly tie in with the reboot? I've convinced myself the "connection" has to do with the throwback villains in Simone's arc and the throwback Legionnaires in WaK's Legion. Tenuous, but it's all I see. I enjoy BoP and liked Simone's work on Rose & Thorn, but I didn't think much of her Legion arc. I thought it should have been titled "For No Better Reason Than We Have Four Issues To Fill."

I'm apt to believe that DC didn't follow through with extra copies of the issue for her to give out.

That's a distinct possibility.
Though people really shouldn't have to guess. if you know what I mean.
