Jackass warning after horrific firecracker accident
Doctors in Australia have urged people to not to attempt Jackass style stunts after a man burnt his genitals in a firecracker accident. The 26-year-old Australian man suffered a fractured pelvis and severe burns when a firecracker exploded between the cheeks of his buttocks.
The incident has left the man, from Illawarra, New South Wales, incontinent and unable to have sex and he is expected to remain in hospital for several months.
Dr McCurdie said he believed the man had stumbled while the firecracker was in his buttocks, and fell down on it.
"By virtue of the fact that the explosion was confined in an upward direction, it went up into his pelvis, blasted a great hole in the pelvis, ruptured the urethra, injured muscles in the floor of the pelvis which rendered him incontinent. His pelvis was also fractured."

Why are you laughing at me? It's unkind, as well as puzzling!

I am SO surprised that someone burnt his penis off while attempting a stunt on Jackass... NOT!!!

(Ouch, though!)

This guy deserves that award for cleansing the gene pool by removing himself from contributing to it.

Really. I find it hard to feel sorry for the stupid-ass.

I mean I enjoyed JACKASS as much as the next guy, but who in their right mind wants to emulate those stunts...?!?!

And it wasn't just some stupid kid. The guy was *26* -- he certainly should've known better.

Did you read about the 14 and 16 year old step brothers who shot at a car on the highway cuz they were imitating "Grand Theft Auto"? They killed a guy and won't see the light of day until they're 19. I don't know if these guys were really that stupid or merely depraved and the lawyer made up the whole "blame the video game" defense. Either way, they're morons.

Oh, well, I guess that'll show them. Kill a person and go away for three years. Too bad the victim didn't get such a light sentence.

I don't care how old you are, if you commit murder you go away for life, minimum. 14 and 16 is more than old enough to understand what they did and 3 years is nothing and won't stop them from doing it again.

To quote RJ Brande's: Damn! I already told my younger sister taht I will NOT allow to touch my foot in her or our Dad's house because they have guns in their house. Finally my sister realized that it was really worthless for her to keep a gun around her house and she is going to have a baby real soon (next month!! yeah I will become the first-time ever Uncle....) and she gave the gun away. I don't have any gun in my place. How about you guys? Do you believe that Guns are good idea or bad idea?

Guns, like cars, can be deadly weapons in the hands of the terminally stupid. I wouldn't advocate getting rid of all cars; nor do I advocate getting rid of all guns as a blanket solution to crime.

My brother is a cop and naturally keeps his revolver at home. (Where else would he put it?) It's tempting to say that only cops should have guns, but that's too simplistic a solution. Not all cops have common sense; not all civilians are brain-dead when it comes to weapons.

I don't like guns. I can't see myself owning one. But if my life were being threatened, I'd grab whatever weapon I could find, including a gun, if one were available.

I pretty much agree with HWW.

As for those sons-of-bitches teens who shot the guy-- Well, let's just say if *I* were running things, less crap like this would happen.

Forget the jail term, Let's see how much they wanna shoot another innocent man after they've been euniched and had one arm and one leg removed.

Since they think shooting people's a game, their sentence should be to stand apart at 50 paces and shoot each other... mad

First, congrats on becoming an Uncle! (does it makes sense to congratualate someone for becoming an Uncle? It's not like they did anything...of course they could be Kentuckians tongue I'm in trouble now aren't I?)

If someone breaks into my house mad , they can expect the first 100 issues of Spawn upside the head. After that, probably the cats, maybe the tv. If I get down to where the only things left to throw are the lazyboy and Legion collection, I may just hand over the money and keys to the car.

No gun in my house.

Thanks! However, funny thing you should mention, Blockade Boy, since I used to live in Kentucky for four years. smile

As for guns, during the time of 1970s and 1990s, they are entirely different. hmmm I don't know how to describe that but I have noticed that now the kids have access to get the guns than before and parents are busy - did not have time to teach them like I was taught when I was younger. The kids steal guns from home and bring it to school and brandishing guns like a show-off and has power to what they like (look at Columbine indicent, as a good example). Here I am, hearing a lot of murder almost everyday (in DC and in Oakland)...so that's why I refused to have a gun in my place. Too much negativity there.

Blockade Boy - don't fret! wink I don't consider myself a Kentuckian because I am not a native there. four years is more like one year compressed. Really I don't know what I should identify with - since I moved around ALOT! from New Jersey to NYC, to Miami, then KY, New Orleans then Denver...went to school in Wash DC then hopping around at least 9 different states....finally kind of settling down here in California. smile

Guns are a fine idea -- "Die Hard" would have been a lot less exciting if there were no guns.

Kids with guns? Never a good idea.

I don't want to be around them simply because they can take life in an instant regardless of motive or circumstance.
