SHIPPING ADVISORY ON SEVEN SOLDIERS #1 AND SUPERGIRL AND THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #23

Due to an error, retailers serviced by Diamond Comic Distributors’ Memphis Distribution Center will not receive SEVEN SOLDIERS #1 (AUG060221) and SUPERGIRL AND THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #23 Standard Edition (AUG060226) this week

These issues now are set to reach retailers on November 1. Retailers will be invoiced for them with their November 1 shipment.

However, the SUPERGIRL AND THE LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES #23 Variant Edition (AUG060227) will be received on October 24 as previously scheduled. DC Comics recommends that retailers hold these copies until the Standard Edition arrives, one week later.

Crap. I've been looking forward to this issue for months.

Does anybody know what area the Memphis distribution center services?

I'm in the Toronto area, so it'd be most sensible if we got our comics from the Plattsburgh DC (and if you're in New England, Sir Tim, same for you) but who knows how these companies do things?

I believe Diamond has three distribution centers (maybe more). The three I know of are Memphis, New York City and Los Angeles. So, to me, it sounds as if the whole of the mid-West is screwed this week.

Huh, apparently my store does have it. I guess the Memphis distribution center doesn't serve Florida. (Which is where I live now.)

I got it too; so Toronto must be out of Plattsburgh.

I'm hoping my neck of the woods is handled by NY, as it should be.

Crap again. I called my store and an employee told me they did have the issue, but when I got there, it turned out they didn't. All they had was two copies of the variant edition, both of which had been sold (for $10) by the time I got there. The guy was confused and thought they also had the regular edition.

At least he apologized, but it'll be a long week.

That's just cruel, for S&LSH. Seven Soldiers is so late anyways it hardly matters. Policy Pam should sell Diamond Distribution Insurance.

No problem for me,they had plenty of it. I've already read it.

But i haven't seen the variant. I will check if they have it next time.

Same for Seven Soldiers #1.

Cincinnati area here...and yeah, no Legion till next week. It is kind of sad that I don't care that much...

Western Maryland is also just like Sir Tim described - we got a couple of variant cover copies, but no regular issues until next week.

The variant cover looked nice, but I couldn't justify paying $10 for it. Waiting...

It figures that this would happen when I'm on vacation-- and I was at the CBS early, too!

This might be upsetting if it was the DnA/Coipel heyday or a TMK issue starring Matter-Eater Lad and Infectious Lass...

I've seen the praise over in the regular thread. Seems like yet more old-school characters "reimagined" with new looks and Dream Girl still isn't officially alive yet. Feh!

It didn't make it to Albuquerque. Who would have guessed that comics for New Mexico ship from Memphis? Oh well, the owner was cool enough to give me a bit of a discount on everything else I bought.
