I have posted the 2007 Convention Schedule over at Go! Figure

I've tried to include all the 'big' ones but let me know if I left something out and I'll try to add it.

Now who's attending what?

I'm not sure I want to brave the NY Con until I'm sure they've worked out all their crowd management issues. But maybe someday.

Megacon looks interesting but I'll be at Katsucon that weekend.

After that it's a barren field, but I may try to hit the Heroes con for the first time in June.

I'm a lock for San Diego in July and Dragon*Con over Labor day weekend. I'm iffy about Otakon, and the June start isn't going to help.

I may hit the Baltimore show in September since it's close, but they haven't announced 2007 dates yet.

I doubt I'll be making any big summer treks, but you never know.

WW Phili in June is possible. I didn't see many other viable options, but we'll see.

hey Miner, i heard that they're gonna expand the dealer floor for '07 NY-con so what happened last year shouldn't happen again, cross your fingers.

They have more than doubled the space and brought in some of the Wizard World Conventions Staff to consult on things like registration and crowd control. Should be a decent year and with the show being less than a week after ToyFair in the same location it should have some amazing figure displays.

Wondercon and probably APE in San Francisco, Supercon in Oakland, probably Wizard World LA in Los Angeles, & hopefully San Diego Comic-Con. Would love to hit up something else out of state like New York, Heroes, or Emerald City but this is gonna be my last semester and I might be too busy/too low on funds.

That's good to hear.

Should this year go alright, I may check them out in the future.

Someone make sure to give a repot on NY comicon. I hope to make it next year. This year looks like WW LA and SD Comicon for me.

(We also have a monthly con at the Shrine and a Twice Weekly show In the City of Industry I hit once in a while ... We're spoiled)

Like l.e.g.i.o.n.JOHN mentioned I'll be at NYC con in feb (freezing my butt off), both APE and wonder cons in SF march and April (since its right near where I live). and SD con in July, cause really how can I miss that one!
Also it not a comic con but I'm kicking around the idea of going to Star Wars Celebration IV Gen con In L.A.
Kinda up in the air on that one....

So, is there anyone going to San Diego who needs a roommate? I don't have a hotel room yet, but I hope to snag one as soon as they're available. It would be nice to split the cost.

I'm probably going to need a roomie, since it looks like my usual travelling companion won't be with me again this year.

I'll be shooting for the Hyatt again this year, as I think it's the best in terms of price and proximity. But overall I'm flexible in terms of hotel.

If we can get one other person, I'll see if I can reserve a parlor room like I had in 2005. Not sure if they'll let me do that in advance, though.

The Bristol Comic Expo is the 12th and 13th May. I'll be there as usual hawking my stuff and getting drunk with other unsavoury British comics types. Confirmed guests so far are Jeph Loeb, Kurt Buseik and Brian K Vaughan but fully expect to see the usual suspects like Mike Carey, Mark Buckingham, Liam Sharp, Frazer Irving and the like. Bob Wayne usually comes over as well and Shelly Bond seems to like it too. It's a smaller event than most of the comparable ones in the US but a huge amount of fun.

Just got an SD update in the mail, listing some confirmed guests and (more importantly, right now) hotel rates.

The Florida eXtravaganza is next week along with UK ToyFair and then Wondercon the week after that so the season is starting on both coasts.

Might be time to start nailing down a list of who thinks they can make San Diego '07 this year, and who will need roommates.

Likely I'll end up on said SDCC list... My fiancé, his older brother and I would really, really like to go. We haven't been since 2004! I'm not sure whether we'll be looking for people to split costs with or not, however, because we'll probably try to get a hotel halfway between the Convention Center and my parents' place (they live in the North County area, but don't have the room to put me and the guys up for a few days).

Okay, I know I said I wasn't going to go to SDCC in 2007 but now that Warren Ellis is gonna be on the list I might just figure out some way to make it down there. Because-- Warren Ellis!! Dude!! *fangirls*

Also, WonderCon is looking like a distinct possibility for me, as well. I was wondering-- MEL (that's Monkey Eater Lad) said something about my SDCC ticket being good to get in there, too... does anybody know anything about this or did I make that up?

GenCon SoCal has been canceled for 2007 along with Anime Expo (Florida) and the Garden City Anime Festival.

GenCon says they will put their time and money into GenCon Indy and may come back to southern California in a few years.

SDCC is part of a group of cons including APE and WonderCon. I have never tried using a SDCC pass at either of the other shows and don't know anyone that has. you might try Comic-Con.org to see if they have any info.
