Hi everybody. I'm an old bear kinda of man (nearing 50) and have been a legion fan since I was 8 years old. I even had several letters published under the moniker of "that feverish fan called Letter King". I wonder whatever happened to my Liz Kane known as Penman Girl. Anyone know?

Now that I'm retired I've had a chance to get re-acquainted with my old legion friends and like what Mr. Kitson has done with them. I'd like to become involved with the forum more and wanted to know how to become a full fledged member instead of just an applicant.

Suggestions anyone?

its just the number of posts you make (i think)

By posting your in and a fully fledged memeber. Applicant status is just a way to record the number of posts you make and will change automatically every so often. You can always change it in your profile like I have to reflect what you want.

Theres a lot of sillyness on this board and a lot of whimsy. Some in jokes because some of us have known each other for a long time, but this is one of the most open and friendly places on the web i know.

And the knowledge of the posters here is incredible, if you have a question on legion lore this is the place to find the answer.

Welcome to LW! We have a BIG base of fans that have read the Legion since their days as little comic book buyers. I started reading the Adventure stuff when I was about 9 or 10 too. It5's always fun to have a new friend with their own insight to the stories we've been discussing for the last few years.
Great to have you here! Explore some of the links and forums and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at tha amount of love for the Legionnaires you'll find here.

We'll discuss everything from the missing Dr. Mantis Morlo to the time lost Dawnstar to Supergirl's new belly-shirt. Anything Legion is fair game for most of the forums.

If you edit your profile you'll find you could change the 'Applicant' tag to anything from 'Legionnaire' to 'Resident Bear-Baiter' to 'Grand High Poobah of the Universe'...
The default tag is just based on posting numbers. New members are all 'Applicants', not that it changes access to any of the site at all.

Letter King and Penman Girl? I've always wondered about you two--IIRC, you both had a bunch of letters printed in the old Adventure issues. In fact, I remember Liz Kane's name specifically. Cool!

It's so cool that you remember us Kid Cobalt. That really brings a smile to my face.

My greatest comic book expeirence was when I had my letter printed in Superboy 172. If anyone has a copy of it you will see me in the letter section. I was Eddie Ross and I lived in Palm Springs, CA at the time.

I remember really being upset that the Legion was booted out of Action and I was concerned that we'd never see them again. So I wrote a letter to DC expressing my concerns. Of course it took quite some time to hear back from them, but you can imagine my great delight and surprise when I received in the mail my very own copy of "Brotherly Hate" signed by Mr. Bridwell who wrote the story. I still have the comic, well actually my son now has it, and it is a treasure.

's truth. Look back through SHAKES (all 3 threads) and you'll find numerous occasions in which Semi has explained that the drinks are always free at SHAKES. He has always refused to charge for anything at all.
