So, I just moved apartments. I am organzing, cleaning and I ran across a bunch of stuff that I don't need.
A bunch of different comic cards from the various Marvel and DC cards that were released - almost complete sets. Some Star Trek Cards. And a bunch of different toys that I don't ever remember buying. Some small Transformers, Avengers toys from the Avengers cartoon, Star Trek, Spawn, Marvels Most Wanted and a bunch of other stuff.
So, do I ebay this stuff off - something I have never done- or do I go to someone more local around here? Craigslist or something?
Any advice would be helpful.

I would imagine that your chances of getting a good price would improve on EBay. I know that most comic shops, for example, will only pay a percentage of list price for stuff, sometimes only half what it's worth.
I've never Ebay'd myself, but I know people who have had good luck with it.
I think it might depend too on how quickly you want to liquidate. If you want to move the stuff because you need the space, then local might end up being faster than EBay.
Some people are like slinkys: not really good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when you knock them down a flight of stairs

You might even try Craigslist in a few key non-local areas known to house comic<strike>geeks </strike> connoisseurs -- San Diego, LA, NYC, Wash. DC -it's riskier than eBay, but essentially free.

Princess - I called some local stores and it is all store credit. I don't need more stuff!
LB -I was thinking Craigslist here in Austin. That way we could meet here and I could get cash.
And KP, the Transformers I have are the some kind of minicons are something. Frankly I am not even sure when or why I bought them. I can take a picture if you want to see.

Hmm... I'm mainly looking for Dinobots, Constructicons, and Insecticons at the moment...

You have minicons? Are they in good condition? If so I might be willing to take those off your hands. Some of the other stuff like the Avengers toys I might be interested in.

eBay will get you far better prices than anything local if you write it up correctly and have photos. Going to boards like Figures.com would allow you to reach figure collectors directly, not pay any listing fees, and chose the buyer you want. Since I'm a mod over there I could vouch for you as well. If you can send me a list of the figures you have I can help you sort out descriptions, exclusives or repaints etc. I might shop as well

I'm rather annoyed with eBay myself.
I'm going to try out iOffer, but haven't gotten around to it. With iOffer, you can list things on an ongoing basis, without the auction due-dates... which ot me makes more sense for less than "hot" items; I'd rather have lnog-term exposure for a lot of my crap.
