so what hopes, dreams and plans do people have for 2006 !? we know JOE BOY is giving up smoking but has anyone else got some goals etc ..... here are mine: on Jan 19th i have my Driving Theory Test which i hope to pass 1st time !? then hopefully, i'd like to be passing my main Driving Test middle of February, or so !? another MAJOR thing happening in the next 2 weeks, is the take over of the ESSENSUALS Toni&Guy salon in York by PAUL and myself !! this is gonna bring a lot more work to both of our already busy working weeks !! but it's going to be a great challenge, we plan on being there between 2-3 days per week, and then the rest of the time being spent at our usual Manchester salon !! [ the only draw back from this could be a further reduced posting on LW , but hopefully that won't happen !? ] i really want to get back into my GYM training !!, i want to go at least 4 times per week, and on each visit, i wanna train for 2 hours at least, running for 1 hour and then weights for the other !! these are my current plans so far ..... with also a big US hoilday planned for the summer this year [ didn't have one last summer, as i went to NY and Miami in the Feb/March of last year ] this summer PAUL and i wanna go to New York [ 6th visit !! but we have to go each time we visit the US ] and then Los Angeles again !! loved it so much in 2004 !! and then finally Hawaii [ we've never been there before, and we always wanted to go !! ] so hopefully that will happen during the summer [ and it will be something to look forward to, through all the hard work, coming up soon !! ] Matthew.

Well I think 2006 is going to be busy for us.
First up I need to finish decorating the Kitchen and repairing and (depending on the mess made) redecorating the Bathroom.
Then through May to September almost every weekend is taken up with my other hobby of re enacting, from local events at museums to big multi period spectaculars. I will post a few pictures if anyone is interested.
I have the wedding to plan for, set for the 2nd of December.
And to cap it all I need to loose weight.

I am getting married. So we have to plan that...and it's turning out to be a headache. We also want to renovate a party room at the house...get new furniture for most the house, redo the front AND back yard. *sigh* Also must lose 30 to 40 lbs asap! Faraway Lad, I will be interested in those pics of the multi-period spectaculars!

Couldn't phone, drop me a PM, write me a letter etc. etc. Just leave it in an obscure post in the middle of somewhere that I may or may not look at sometime in the next few months etc. etc. etc. Anyway - congrats - I always told you he was an arse. I see you finally came round to my way of thinking. So, who gets the contract to break his knee caps?

I have one single goal I'm focusing on at the moment -- getting out of Florida before the next hurricane season. The natural disasters last year were a wake-up call for me, telling me it's time I stopped complaining about how much I hate living here and start searching for new horizons instead of daydreaming about them. My best friend and I are in the process of planning a road trip to a possible new home for me.

Well its now January 9th and Ive had 2 ciggarettes. giving that I have (had?) a pack a day habit (almost) I think Im doing quite well.
Im intending to have a 6 pack by the start of March So I can march shirtless in the Mardi Gras Parade and not feel self-conscious about my beer-gut. oh and also want to increase the size of the rest of my musculature...just for good measure.
I plan on cleaning my room at some point as its been a bombsite since I moved in
Im going to start selling customised jeans through ebay as Im getting tired of people asking me where they can get them.
MAke more Jewellery
I will try my hardest not to laugh at short people.

Two things must happen for me: 1. Move out and get a house (even if renting) with brother & best friend ASAP. I need this well within the first two months of 2006. 2. I absolutely need to get back in shape to what I was about three or four years ago. I don't care what it takes anymore--I'll eat only lettuce for all of January and run twice a day if I have to. Twenty pounds must come off by February 1 come hell or highwater. Harbi--this seems like a good thing according to you and Numf, but I thought I'd tell you how much I have for

A couple of plans already set. We're getting married in October and we're well ont eh way to getting sorted. We've pretty much set a date (21st) assuming that all goes well with the registrar, we've got a reservation for the reception and we're working out money at the moment (probably a loan, but not a big one). Going to Bristol comic expo in May and have most things sorted for that too. I'll definately have QoD #6 done for then and I'd like to get #7 doen too. I also plan on at least getting #8 out this year as well, maybe #9 if I don't end up doing anythign else. There is a huge Oddcases story (80 plus pages) that we want to get done in the next year though so QoD may only get a couple of issues this year. Plus maybe a couple of shorter Oddcases stories for The Girly Comic as well are more than likely. We've got a holiday to the West coast of Canada in July/August (Vancouver, Calgray, a couple of other places and a few days in Seattle as well). We've got all the flights and stuff booked and are pretty sure how it's going to go but there's a bit more planning for that as well. And then we need to decide what we're doing for the honeymoon. It'll probably only be a week so nowhere hugely far away or expensive, but we're considering New York again, possibly Atlanta/Dollywood since we enjoyed Tennessee so much, or maybe somewhere closer to home like Spain or Italy. I'd rather go somewhere where they speak the same language though. Depends a lot on the kind of price we can get. Australia would be great but for just a week it's far too far to travel. Other than that... well, despite the fact that most of the above thigns are fairly well planned and quite far away I'm not actually a very good planner (I don't have much concept of the future really) so I tend not to think about what I want to do or what I want to happen. It keeps things as a nice surprise. I would like to lose a bit of weight (not get all muscly, but just lose the bit of a tummy I'm suddenly developing) but I'm not going to commit myself to anything on that front otherwise it'll never happen. So my only other plan or hope is that I have a good year and am happy and that everyone else is too. BTW, congrats Matt on running a second salon. You're going to be turning into a business mogul at this rate.

Got a little closer to my dreams....
...just received word that I passed the Society of Actuaries Exam FM which I took in November of 2005. The pass rate was about 35-45%, and of the 25 or so people in my class who took it, only 3 appear to have passed it. Including me!!
Yayyy!! One less exam to worry about!! And only seven or eight more to go!!

My options have become much clearer over the past week, and they're all pointing to Pennslyvania, where I have a lot of family; the area I have in mind would put me practically next door to one of my closest relatives, who is also friends with a published author who could help me come closer to my lifelong goal of being a published author myself.
I might not make it over there before the hurricane season starts, but late spring/early summer seems likely, so hopefully I'll outrun the hurricanes just in time.

We have to get the house in order before the new baby comes late April/early May. We're planning on enclosing the garage which is already drywalled on three sides. My wife's brother is a contractor so we should be able to pull it off cheap, but the downside is that we're going to have to shuffle a lot of accumulated junk around. We also have been using the spare room as a dumping ground, which will have to be cleared before the boy gets here.
Also, I have got to find a new job. I really really don't like my current position. We're discussing the possibility of my getting a part time job in the evenings so I can stay be a daytime stay at home dad. The amount we'd lose in pay would be offset by the lack of daycare costs. My wife is going to try to get a different position with her current company that would mean much better pay, meaning that my job would be the more disposable of the two if it pans out.
It may not happen, and probably won't, but it would be nice to get to be the one to stay home with the new boyy. My wife stayed home most of the first year with our daughter though not entirely by choice as she got downsized soon after resuming work.
Stealth, I don't blame you about those hurricanes. The coast is getting to be awfully precarious the last few years.
