Well, I have purchased my convention tickets (Now I need a place to stay wink )

For those coming to Boston. I am thinking of dinner after the convention. There is one restaurant that I go to in Boston's Theater District. Will people also want to go to Harvard Square one night? I know of a good chinese restaurant in Harvard Square. After dinner, I'll let Faraway Lad lead us to the best bars. He knows which ones those are from his previous visits.

Director Lad, I know you can only meet up for dinner (and maybe drinks afterwards). Do you have a preference of Friday or Saturday night? Both nights maybe?

I've heard from an ex-Bostonian friend that there's a great Salvadoran place in Jamaica Plain.

I don't know the name, but from Google, I'm guessing it's La Puposa Guanaca on Centre St.

We could try for it. Although JP is a bit outlying as far as the subway goes.

I imagine it will depend on the number of people to cars as to whether we use cars or the subway. If we go to Harvard Square, definitely subway as there is no place to park in the Square.

It's what people from El Salvador eat. It's good - fresh and simple foods.

It's vaguely similar to Mexican in terms of base ingredients, but yet far different as well - just as, say, Greek and Italian are.

There's one around the corner from my sister's house I fell in love with when I visited her a coupl'a years ago.

I was thinking of that. the problem would be the number of people who go. It can get crowded in there and we might have to wait for tables.

Well, I'm booked. I've been reading horror stories about comic book conventions (crowds, heat & stinky bodies - I hate crowds & heat but can peacefully co-exist with the smellies), so maybe I should have my head examined.... but look forward to seeing you LWers.

My preference would be Saturday. Friday is Serenity and I'm not missing that for anything.

Let's see... we have a Canadian, a Brit, a bunch of Yanks.... three countries at least. Does Vee count as #4?

Then clearly, we must get there early and drink lots, in order to secure our rightful place in said establishment. We can also shout, "Look! Yankees fans!" (pointing out to the street) and create a mass exodus as they go out to beat some innocents to a pulp, while surrendering their seats to us.

Kent, Bartley's doesn't serve alcohol. But they make the best burgers and frappes.

Oh Darden likes frappes. But as I said to Gigi, Bartley's can be crowded and it would take too long for us to be seated.
