Aren't we scheduled to have a gala affair at the Psyonian Embassy on Saturday night? I was pretty sure I saw that on my itinerary.

Yeah, I'll be taking the Downeaster. If I'm reading the schedule right, the last trains leaving Boston are 6:45 PM and 11 PM, so I should be able to do dinner as long as I can get back to the station in time.

Still temping, so I'm still on a pretty tight budget; looks like I'm going to have to pass.

Well, hotel reservations are made at the Ramada (the one with the hand dipped chocolate place on-site! ). Now I need to start working on flights. Boy, I'm getting excited already! Oh, yeah! I guess I should buy tickets to the Con!

I think I may end up doing a test drive down to Boston in the next couple of weeks with a friend of mine, just to see how complicated the Expo is to reach. If I don't have to go through too much of the city to get there, I may just drive down each day, rather than take the train. It's like $17 per day to take the train, plus whatever it costs to ride the subway. I'm only like an hour and a half away, so it probably would make more sense to drive. Of course, if I can persuade Beagz to fly up from Texas, then I will definitely drive, cuz I won't have to do it alone

I just looked up the airfare and hotel combos on Expedia - and you're right, it could be done fairly reasonably. However, that is in the middle of the fall dog show season and I'm showing Duncan most weekends. That's where most of my discretionary income is going in the fall. (I hope he appreciates it. ) One of these years I'll make it.

Friday would be the heaviest traffic day. Once off the highway, the Convention Center is not far, although a little confusing with the roadways.

I was already planning how Semi, Quis, Outdoor Miner, Vee, Cobie, Abin, Far, Pov, Cru, etc could decend on Cheers and show them what it's like at a real bar like SHAKES! The Cheers gang had nothing on us!

A quick question. The con runs for three days so am i right in assuming that most of us will want three day tickets? I'm getting to the stage where i need to think about ordering the things now. As for a mass descent on Cheers Vee sounds fun. Although we can also mass descent on any other place you guys want to. Hee Hee "I;m coming to Boston, to Boston , to Boston"

Sounds like a plan Far! What would be really fun would be getting Hrun to come to Boston also. I'd love to see the look on the faces of everyone at Cheers (or any bar we decend upon) if he turned up and demanded mead! I ordered the 3 day tickets today. Of course, I won't get to make use of most of Sunday most likely depending on what flight I get.

Hee Hee "I;m coming to Boston, to Boston , to Boston" Faraway Lad, The cost of a three day ticket and buying a ticket for two days is the same cost, so you might as well buy the three day ticket. And I don't mind mass decending on some place, just not Cheers. The inside of Cheers is small and crowded. Not the best place to gather.

There must be a Wal-Mart Grill somewhere in Boston...

I was going to suggest that if someone had a room in the Double Tree (or if the Ramada is close enough) that we get sandwich makings to keep in the room for lunches. There aren't any fast food places near the convention center.

Since the Ramada has a free shuttle going back and forth, I'd be happy to lend my room for that unless someone else is more convenient.
