I'm looking forward to WWB. I keep checking the official site to see when they post hotel details. The Double Tree doesn't show any rooms available for that weekend, but I'm hoping that the con will have some kind of special deal for ticket holders at some hotel in the area. Of course, that could be a pipe dream on my part. If they don't, I only live a couple of hours from Boston and one of my buddies from the local CBS is planning to go too, so maybe we can carpool.
Once we get a headcount of LW attendees, should we arrange for a Saturday night dinner someplace?

DL, Wizard World likely has those rooms blocked off for the con. Keep checking the site.
Since I've booked rooms through their official travel agency before, I'm on an e-mail list that they send out when the hotel info becomes available. I'm sure other people around here are too. I'm sure someone will post when they get it.

Well, it's starting to look like I won't be able to come out for the actual con. I'm tentatively planning to move from MA to Los Angeles in November and I need to start aggressively saving money.
However, I would still like to get together with the LW group, so let's plan ahead for dinner/meetup on Friday or Saturday.

I'll definitely be there. Likely on Sunday, since I work Saturdays.

Boston has some serious possibilities. It'd be great to meet some of LW most notables.
I've got to look into it a little deeper...
Just spouting off.

Well, I was walking home from the store yesterday and looked up at the scrolling marquee that the Bayside Expo Center has and the Wizard World convention was one of the upcoming events they were advertising.

Hotel registration is now available through the Wizard World site linked on page one of this thread. Looks like the only available hotel (they have a block of rooms there) is the Doubletree.
Are there other hotels by the Expo Center or is that the only one?

Sorry Vee. Best I can do is a Renaissance about 23 miles away for $89 a night.

According to Google Maps there is a Holiday Inn Express about a mile and a half from the center and their cheapest rate for the con is $112. The only other hotel listed in the immediate area (under 2 miles) is the Doubletree.

Vee, you are welcome to use my floor (I have some old futon mattresses) Outdoor Miner was thinking of taking me up on the offer.
Actually for anyone, any hotel (or bed & breakfast) in Boston or Cambridge should be fine. As long as the place is near the T (that the subway here) The Bayside Expo Center is a 5 minute walk from the Red Line JFK stop.

I appreciate the offer Quis, but I definitly would prefer to have a room onsite so I can pop upstairs for a break if I want or just to drop stuff off so I don't have to lug everything around all day.
Just wanted to know if there were any options but it does sound like the Doubletree is the only hotel onsite.

Quis, I'm going to need floorspace... I'll need to do the Con on the cheap (gotta save up for a major life change), so I'll either need floorspace or I'll have to make it a one-day visit.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

And I probably will, too. Thanks for the offer! We should work out a schedule of sorts through PMs.

On a con note, I see that they've upgraded Friday from a "Preview Night" to a regular con day, albeit with a noon starting time.

Is there any point to that special VIP package? I don't really see the value in it but I'm a Con newbie.

I have to say that I think its pretty awesome that people are coming in from so far and that there’s already a bunch of us committed to going. It’s gonna be a pretty kick ass time!

Who is keeping track of the people planning on attending? How many Legion Worlders are we talking about being there?
Do I need to bring extra cleaning supplies?
Now I just have to convince PL...
