Halloween's rapidly approaching...
Who's got big plans for Halloween night -- and what kind of costume will you be wearing this year?

We're going up to a friend of ours for a party, but we haven't decided what to go as yet. I have my old standby Two-Face outfit (a photo of which is in the album btw) which is always good but we're trying to think of something that either Chris and I can go as together or Chris and our friend Lindsey and her boyfriend Adam can go as as a group of four. It has to be something scary (because we in the UK don't hold with this 'dress as anything for Halloween' bobbins) but Chris doesn't seem to quite understand that. Lindsey and I have vetoed anything like wizards, vampires, devils, ghosts or witches for being too obvious and boring. I did try to explain to Chris that you can as almost anything as long as you can add the phrase 'as corpses' to the end and have it work. So 'cheerleaders - as corpses' works as does 'cowboys - as corpses', but he still doesn't quite get it. We are possibly thinking as going as the Golden Girls - as corpses, but we're not sure about that yet. Otherwise we might go as Derek and Yvette from 'Most Haunted' simply because Chris is tall and I am short and because there's a Most Haunted Live on that weekend so we could text in a picture of ourselves and maybe get seen on telly. I need to get my thinking cap on though because chances are I'll have to make at least some of the costume and I'm away this weekend which only leaves one weekend to make them in.

I think I'm actually going to be taking the day off from work and going to Salem, MA for the day and evening. I've done that once before, and highly reccomend it--Salem, Mass. is freakin' NUTS on Halloween! It's so much fun, it's like Mardi Gras but in Halloween costumes, and it really delves into the rich culture of Salem and the history of witchcraft of the town.
Can't wait! I haven't dressed up though in fifteen years, and I'm not that old. Maybe sometime? My brother's b-day is the next day so we'll most definatley be out all night at bars havnig a good time afterwards.

Ill be spending the 3 or 4 days prior to Halloween making work look all snazzy for our Halloween Party. then Halloween Ill be recovering from said party as Im set to work the whole thing (6:30 - 6:30)
Remember : It's not technically a suckerpunch if you yell ''DEFEND YOURSELF SPROCKER!'' two seconds before you let him have it.

I've done that a half-dozen times... but even tho lately, the local fundies seem out to ruin it, it's still a blast. if I go this year, it'll be Sunday the 30th, tho.

Here we have a week long costumed street party. And the street in question has close to 75 bars in a 1/2 mile stretch(maybe even less). So it utter madness here for awhile Anyhoo, i guess i'll be vamping out again. I've been working on a Predator costume (with working mouth and rotating shoulder-gun), but there is no way it will be ready for this year. My roomate will most likely use the killer Pinhead costume we made a few years back (that costume is so good it caused several children to cry) Halloween, my favorite time of year!!!!

I have three kids, so we DO Halloween. For the past several years, we've built a giant spider (like 12 feet tall from tip of front legs to tip of back legs) and we have it crawl up the front of the house. We put a light under it and everything. We also have a 10-12 foot skeleton that stands in front of the main front window. We have headstones that make our front yard look like a graveyard and we rake all the leaves to form where the bodies would lie. We hang ghosts made from tattered white plastic garbage bags over balloons on fishing wire.
HOWEVER, this year will be different. We'll still create the graveyard, but we're going to have it be inhabited by a group of zombies. We made papier mache' heads, which are now drying, awaiting paint, and we'll make their bodies out of wood and old clothes. The hands will be made from pipe cleaners within latex gloves, painted. Still need to make those.
My kids always have fun ideas for their costumes, and we almost always make them ourselves. However, this year, my 15 year old son is going to dress as Darth Vader. He looks a LOT like Annakin in Ep 3. He'll wear a store bought Vader helmet. He wants to have a party at our house for his friends. Yikes!
I don't know what my 12 year old son will do, yet. In the past he's been a dead skate boarder (too gorey for Mom and Dad's comfort!). He's into big-time trick or treating, and brings in several pounds of candy!
My 8 year old daughter was a crow last year, and in the past she's been a cute unicorn, but this year she wants to be a Jedi, I do believe a padwan learner. So fun!
I haven't attended a grown-up Halloween party in YEARS now, but we have such fun, I don't miss it.

People from all over come to UCSB for Halloween. It's, like, the holiday. The streets are packed and the parties are wild... I can't wait!! Of course, I have midterms all around Halloween, so that sucks. But still. Yayness!! Don't know what I'll be this year. (I posted a few pictures of my dom-with-love-slave costume from last year, I think.) Suggestions are welcome. I was kind of thinking naughty nurse, since it's easy but we'll see.

I have a footlong thermometer you can borrow (I built it as a prop for a music video -- very scary (and yes, phallic)). I don't know what I'm going to be doing for Halloween though...

I went with a bunch of friends as the cast of "Lost"... we just ended up looking like a bunch of dirty people with unlaundered clothes though...

OK, I have now decided to go to the other Halloween party right after I log off...
But this is without the rest of the "Lost" ensemble, so I think I will just end up looking disheveled and alone...

Which (corpse) G-Girl would you be? Well in the end I am reprising my Two-Face outfit, but.. If we were going to go as the Golden Corpses then Chris (the hubby) wouls be Dorothy (because he's six three), our friend Lyndsey would have been Sophia because she's weeny, her boyfirend would have been Rose and I'd have been Blanche. I thought it was a good idea but we never got round to organising it.

I went back to UCONN one last time for a kick-ass halloween party and had a blast. Since I'm traditionallly one of those people who don't like to dress up, I went for a semi-costume as a high school principal/professor, which matched a cute girl I've recently become friends with who was a school girl. Tons of fun!
Tweed blazers rule! It's totally my new style now too.

I didn't see anyone else dressed as the cast of "Lost" at the parties I went to last night -- nor any Desperate Housewives, either.
There was someone dressed as Tom DeLay in a prison outfit, which worked because he actually had an uncanny resemblance to DeLay... There were a few Harriet Mierses... mostly people this year seemed to go as "real people," maybe to save on costume cost...

What does a Harriet Miers costume entail, anyway?
