This is great; the first Legion Leader election that I could actually take part in.
Was split between Jo and Tinya as my two favourite Legionnaires but ultimately plumped for Tinya.
Go PG!

I voted Jo...but so many others I would like to see take a crack at it. Vi, Tinya, Mon-El, Cham...I just hope it isn't one of the same old same olds.

Another vote in for Tyroc. It's about time that Mr. Stewart gets some Levitz love.

I voted... Gates.
I just want to read about Paul's version of the bug. My version of a curve ball to him, actually...

My 5 month old son also wanted to vote for Tinya so I felt compelled to do so from my home computer!

Hey. In Chicago, vote early, vote often ain't no joke. It's a way of life.
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

I went back and voted again from home. This time, well, it's all about love. So I voted for Phantom Girl Tinya Wazzo, because I know deep down that if she wins, she'll know my vote made the difference, and gratitude is all I would ever want. OK, so I have been drinking.

Voting more than once is unfair at least to your fellow fans, and shows the people at DC that the fans cannot be trusted. The more you vote multiple times, the less the chance that we're even going to have a vote at all (let alone an online one) when the next Legion election rolls around. Just because we're not electing a real-life person doesn't mean that voting twice is anything better than intentionally corrupting the system.

I voted for Gates because he's a Marxist and I'm a big Groucho fan.
My four other IP addresses are deliberating which other candidates would give Levitz the biggest headache if they won.

Just because we're not electing a real-life person doesn't mean that voting twice is anything better than intentionally corrupting the system. [/b]Someone stuffing the ballot box for Dream Girl once upon a time created a great run of stories, turned her into a fan-favourite character and doesn't seem to have put a halt to the election process. I'm not advocating someone set up a network of computers with rigged different IP addresses just to ensure someone wins a comic book poll but if a fan wants to throw a few votes the way of a character (even if it's one I don't particularly want to see win) I'm not going to be too bothered about it. Speaking of really corrupting the voting process though - I read somewhere (comicbookresources maybe?) that the 'people' over at 4chan have taken an interest in this poll and might be planning on disrupting it the way they did the 'Time' Person of the Year one. That would bother me a lot more than doublechinner (or whoever) sending a couple of votes toward Phantom Girl (or whoever).

i don't care who wins, as long as its not earth man i hate how much time is being spent on him, i didn't care for him that much once he was reintroduced and it nevery got better.
while i didn't vote for Cosmic boy, i'm kinda bummed that no one is really voting for him, i like him as the team leader- im just sick of the lighting lad- Saturn girl drama that seams tied to him when he is in charge

^ Cosmic Boy has been leader so often and for so long in ever 'boot there's been that I think people are just really tired of that dynamic and ready for some new blood in the position, rather than there being any general dissatisfaction with the character. (Though Lord knows he has his detractors - wasn't there a Cosmic Boy Death League or something during the Reboot era?)

^ Also sooner or later, we all know there will come a time when he will need to step up as the Legion leader again. It's his default position and defining characteristic.

He just will be. He's the progenitor and that's that. BUT..... The Legion fandom, while respecting Cos in all of his reboot incarnations, is tired of seeing the same person in the role of leader. Most of us want to see someone else have a crack at the job because we want to see other heroes grow and develop the way Cos has. As Blacula pointed out it worked for Dream Girl back in the day and it will for other less used heroes that some people on here are pushing for. I didn't vote for Phantom Girl because I have my own favourite that I'd like to see win. Does that mean I won't support or enjoy the run if PG gets the job? Nope, I would support it, and probably be surprised along the way even if Quislet ends up getting the job. I still like Cosmic Boy and will follow his adventures and support his leadership decisions always, whether he's actually the leader or not.

I voted for Tyroc, mostly to punish Paul for writing out my favorite Legionnaire way back when. It was my way of saying, THERE, Paul, now you HAVE to figure out how his power works, AND deal with his "angry-black-man" persona.
OOUUUUIIEEE!!
Of course, Troy's original depiction might be a nice character springboard in the current xenophobic era.
Which reminds me to ask - since my economic set back, and the shuttering of my local comics shop, I have not read any comics, has there been any interaction between Tyroc and Earth-Man? I'd think there'd be some animosity there. My first Legion comic was S/LSH #218, the one where Tyroc joined (partly why he's my fav Legionnaires). Anyway, I distinctly recall that Tyroc got into the Legion more-or-less for kicking the snot out of Absorbancy Boy.
Can you imagine how Earth-Man would react if Tyroc became leader? That alone is worth voting him in, I think.

As I pointed out elsewhere, Tyroc's initiation to the Legion involved fighting Earth-Man.

Now I want to change my vote.
I picked Invisible Kid- in the hopes that Paul'd 'bring forward' the Jacques/Drura relationship from the 5YL reality (maybe my favorite addition to the LSH mythology from that period). That would also force Drura's status to be addressed.
Even more, I'd like that lingering bit of tantalization regarding Lyle Norg's fate to be touched upon.
Besides those probably unrealistic hopes, I like Jacques (when he isn't speaking fake French) and want to see more of him (hah!). And an Invisible Kid as leader makes more sense in this original-adjacent reality than in the New Wanderers one, somehow.
PG- why hasn't she put herself in the running before? It'd be interesting to read what reason Paul would come up with to explain just why she finally would after all these years.
Gates- Oh, gods... would that be fun. I can't imagine it lasting long, though.
I'd been thinking of Shadow Lass, but this Earth-Man stuff makes that unpalatable. Maybe next time, though.
Ayla- I'd actually love this. Especially with Garth and Imra apparently out of action for awhile.
Earth-Man- please gods, no.
Tyroc- who I now sort of wish I'd voted for, since apparently he has a shot and Jacques really doesn't.
Really, really, really wish there was a space for a write-in...
