Remember this legion is supposed to be as close as possible to the Original Pre-Crisis team and their history. That would include Cham being related to R.J. poor Cham. What's he gonna do when he finds out his dad's dead?
See, I completely missed that Brande was dead. (Or whatever passes for it in comicbookland. ) I've been out of touch for a long time. I guess that would explain why Yera's on the team then. Somebody has to run the company if Brande is gone.

What I want to know is why Yera has hair now. I mean, I know she's a Durlan and can change her look at will and everything but she never seem bothered by not having hair before. Was it just to spice things up in the space-bedroom because Colossal Boy was getting bored? I mean if he really loves her, wouldn't he still love her bald or in a ratty purple cloak with green tentacles for a face?
Also, she used to be depicted as being relatively petite and exotic looking with tiny antennae. Now she looks like Uma Thurman with orange skin. I must say like her outfit though.
Is that a moon?

(snip) Uranus Lad: What I want to know is why Yera has hair now. Because, as Set pointed out in another thread (I believe) alien females just aren't allowed to look too alien--- for very long. Women in comics are always much more in a cookie-cutter mold than men, and it bugs the hell out of me. Always has.
Like a woman can't look great without masses of hair . Feh. Now I'm in a bad mood again.

Actually in the sketches Gary Frank had in the book of the Superman and the Legion book, he wrote he was worried that Yera would look TOO alien if she was bald.
That and I think the costume doesn't work if she's bald. She's practically the only one who has a new costume that isn't a bit militaristic in design.

That pink bared-navel-rectangle thing? Meh.
And, yeah, but this notion that women with little or no hair is truly "alien" kind of ignores other parts of the actual world, really.

I know. Or else, they might've worried Sinead O'Connor might sue.

Also indicative of a whippersnapper too wet behind the ears to have known the hotness that was Persis Khambatta in Star Trek the Motion Picture. That's right, I said whippersnappers! Get off my lawn! yeah, i liked Yera as she was. bald with little antenna, and unable to do the huge mass defying shapes that Reep could. she was only capable of doing human-sized shapes and smaller. i remember they made a big deal that " not all Durlans are the same". now Johns and Frank have made them all the same. pity.

I agree that Yera looks better without hair. Remember that panel late on in the Levitz run where she had an orange mullet type thing but with a bald head? It looked better than it sounds!
She should have been called Chameleon Queen too!
Have we figured out what the story is with Una? Presumably she and KK are from the current Adventure Legion. Maybe Duplicate Damsel can send her bodies off for unlimited periods now. Maybe they should have called her Multiple Maid instead...
