Probably the best thing to do is wait until DC reboots its line again in a couple of years.
First comic books ever bought: A DC four-for-47-cents grab bag that included Adventure #331. The rest is history.

T share your hope but Levitz has categorically stated that the Legion has not met the Five.
[/QB] Why? What is really the point ... I think a "oh shit THE Fatal Five is BACK!" is about as impressive as "An ALL NEW Fatal Five that we meet for the first time ... that has no historical gravitas and no meaning and will be irrelevant after their introduction story ... especially when DC Reboots in two years." There are so many non DC, non Marvel GREAT books out right now with excellent stories. There is something toxic about these two big companies.

No reason why we can't have room for both Kara and Laurel. Clark and Mon coexisted for the longest time anyway... and both Laurel and Kara are great characters. I'm drawing a blank here--did they ever write out Laurel Gand? I mean, you would have had the Glorith retcon that took out Superboy, then the reboot, and then the Retroboot. Am I just forgetting something?[/b]Originally posted by Set: I don't think Laurel Gand ever existed in the 'classic' continuity, did she? We always had a Supergirl, in this one, even if she died and was replaced about three times since Crisis... What Set said; Laurel Gand's first appearance was in the "Glorithverse". She was a retroactive character intended to take the place of Supergirl. I don't think there's been any evidence so far that either Supergirl or Laurel Gand has been a member of THIS current team.

I don't think there's been any evidence so far that either Supergirl or Laurel Gand has been a member of THIS current team. Hmm. I think they should add her back then as her own, unique member--she was way cooler than anyone wearing nothing but a leather jacket and a sumo thong had any right to be.

I still think having to rescue a teammate who was responsible for your own 'death' might still count as 'conflicted'.

I agree with Cargg. As usual. I didn't like the bit about Dream Girl basically saying Lu never liked her.

^^I thought that was a nice allusion to the the rest of the girl Legionnaires' hating Nura in her first story.
Choice quote from Lu: "I feel sorry for any Legionnaire who has to work with her."

Well, Nura has always been a little proud about her looks, hasn't she? In the 80s she had a tendency to flirt with a lot of the male Legionnaires. Including Chuck, AFTER he got married.

Proud about her looks, deviously intelligent, a diva attitude, a power that give her an idea of what will happen next, prone to wearing skimpy outfits, many of the women of their teams hate them...really, the only thing I can think of that Nura doesn't have are breast implants, and for all we know plastic surgery could be a LOT less noticeable in the 31st century.

Oh! Before I forget, did anyone else notice Scott Kolins draws Lu with the same hairstyle as her cartoon counterpart first season? Not the same color, mind you, but she has the same shape.

Loved Portela. Loved Scott Kolins on Flash. I'm hoping at worse, an even up exchange for me.

I'm sorry, did I miss something? I thought Kolins was only doing three issues (13, 14 and 16). Portela is listed for 15.

Not digging Kollins on art... I never read his Flash material but would page through it periodically; I seem to remember a different look than this current style. I believe that Portela is coming back, just getting a rest and a jump on the next arc.

Honestly, I'm kinda hoping that Giffen will draw the arc he's doing with Levitz. I mean, yeah, he's basically only doing a Kirby pastiche at this point, but it's damn good Kirby pastiche.

If it's anything like the Annual he did awhile back with Vi and Ayla and the Emerald Empress, I could dig it. That was a neat style.

One thing I really liked about this issue was that you could feel how much Jan disliked pirates without his coming out and saying "Hey, my entire planet was murdered by pirates", which I thought was pretty sweet writing.
