they look cool anyway. having a standard look makes sense. and glad they drew from different Boots in building this one - Jazmin and Ferro are there, alongside many of the classic Adventure cast

The lightning scar on Garth is from the animated series, right? I don't think we've seen it otherwise.

Honestly, it looks/feels more like a redo of the Legion of Death from the horrible Justice League 3000 than it does any version of the real Legion.

But I guess beggars can't be choosers.

For some reason I'm cautiously optimistic about this, though I'm not sure why.

Maybe for the same reason I am, which I'm not sure of either.

Honestly it may be because it looks well drawn. That's not Mora's art is it? I didn't think he was attached to this, but it sure looks like his lines.

There is the quality of the artwork, yes.

I'm so out of the loop with current creators that I don't have any idea whose styles are alike.

But if you need to know whether any random Gil Kane Marvel cover from the 70s was inked by John Romita or Frank Giacoia, I'm your girl!

Mora is the penciler for Waid's World's Finest, which is probably the best DC book being produced in the last few years.

There's a Legion flashback splash in JSA #12.

Previews for Superman 19 are out, and the Time Trapper is there right out the gate.

I've kinda soured on Waid in recent years, but if my library system has any of the WF trades, I'll check them out.

On a lighter note, "mora" is Spanish for "blackberry."

I've liked what I've read of Waid's WF. Not the greatest comics ever, but a satisfactory read. Which probably does put it well above much of what DC is producing today!

They do have Volume 1 of Waid's WF. I have some other stuff I want to borrow from the library first, but I'll get to it sooner rather than later.

This is exactly true.

Some good tie ins with Kingdom Come and some of the other DC stuff happening at the time. I'm not as much of a fan of the last big story arc around the extra dimensional mite characters, but that's mainly because I'm not a fan of those characters.

But I do like Mora's art, as it has some of the best Breyfogle-like lines I've seen since reading his Detective.

Sorry for the delay in this question. I had to go to a different city to pick one up. Does that look like a combo of Chameleion Boy and Monster Boy to anyone else? I still don't think we needed him as a Legionnaire, but he kind of grew on me and is one of the few that I felt got any real exposure of the new guys.

Yeah, I've seen others point out that there may be a hint of Monster Boy in the Cham design, and possibly X-Ray Girl in the Brainy design.

As long as they're supposed to be from the Absolute DC universe I don't mind them, but I'm going to be annoyed if they're ALL the Legion focus we get.

Why is Mon-El om the cover of Action 1070?

They're doing a story set in the Phantom Zone and Mon's going to be a main character starting in 1071.

So the recent issue of Action Comics is on a 1-week digital delay. Did anyone get a physical copy? The previews for the next issue are out and Mon-El is right there rocking a space pirate look. I'm assuming he showed up at the end of the previous issue.

That first preview page makes me happy, and is a perfect summary of why Mon-El is an important part of Superman's life that shouldn't be retconned away.
