According to the DC "The Source", Geoff and Francis are off to the new Flash monthly. So cool to see such commitment from DC to this book! :./ At least I hope Legion will get rid of Conner and be the main thing on the book. I can't link it now, but you can find it on DC page...

Well, that's good for the Flash book. Wonder where Ivan Reis is going however since I thought he was a shoe-in for the Flash...
But seriously, freakin six issues for the relaunch and then DC is changing creative teams. Ridiculous

Don't forget that Francis is not even drawing #4 and #5 (these will be Jerry Ordway). Jerry might even be the new writer/artist there, for all we know. Funny though is to see Johns leaving his book so soon. But that's DC nowadays. At least I know Giffen is on Doom Patrol for (his) long haul.

The link . This is depressing. At least on ADVENTURE I had the chance to see an occasional Legion panel from Francis.

Francis already off Adventure with #6. 6 being his last issue as well as Johns'. He's moving over to Flash with Johns. No idea who the new artist is going to be. Here's the scoop: http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2009/09/08/the-dastardly-death-of-the-rogues/

Yikes, that didn't take long. I wonder if Johns is still going to be providing some form of creative direction. He's set up enough plot threads to last through years of these 8-page backups.

I love how the reviewer enthuses about how they knocked us out with their 'amazing work on Adventure Comics.'
Yeah, Adventure Comics #1, that is. We haven't frickin' seen anything else yet, and they've already jumped ship.
That's like showing up for a single class of Algebra 1 and then saying, 'Well, since they passed with flying colors, let's just move on to Algebra 2!'

Hmmm... it sounded to me like Johns had plans for more than just 6 issues of Adventure. Perhaps Dc wouldn't green light some of his long term plot threads?

Didn't we already know that Geoff was going to write the new Flash book? Why doesn't that just take the place of the Flash: Rebirth mini in his schedule?
This is annoying, they are pulling the rug out from under us on this so darn fast!

Johns is clearly leaving DCU to focus more on his films endeavors. You should all have seen it coming. Remember: he is one of the guys (Morrison and Wolfman being the other 2) responsible for the link between DC and Hollywood. He is going to stick with GL, Flash and the 2010 crossover. Hopefully, Robinson will take over Legion sooner than later now he is not writing 2 JL books.

cough.. splutter.. choke.. ^^^ The same Robinson writing Justice League: Whine About Justice And Kill Off Good Supporting Characters? That Robinson?!? No thanks. He can't even keep the handful of JLAers he's writing in that book in character. How's he going to handle a team as big as this one?

Let's put this in perspective. Look at the solicitation for #4:
Superboy Written by Geoff Johns; Art by Jerry Ordway;
Legion: Written by Geoff Johns and Michael Shoemaker; Art by Clayton Henry;
So Johns is leaving Superboy (and hopefully taking Prime with him!). Manapul has already gone.
From the Legion's point of view there is no indication that Clayton Henry is moving and we have yet to see what Michael Shoemaker can do.
What this will do is knock 10K off the sales overnight as Johns fans jump ship.
"Our devotion to each other was unexplainable" "You were kids" "No Batman, we were Legion"

In a recent interview on Newsarama Dan Didio has confirmed that he will be writting an ongoing series from the end of the year so I would not rule out him becoming the new Adventure writer.
I understand he does have a history with Kon-El from writing his previous series.

Robinson coming in might be one of the things that forces me away from a Legion title and I really don't want that.

Yeah, this is completely bizarre. Just when we've convinced ourselves there's a plan, something like this happens. The timing does seem to line up with Didio being the one writing this which is bad and good.
Bad, because Didio would be the one writing this, and good because how low a sales threshold would you need to cancel the EIC's book?
I'm still baffled that he's writing something beyond the Wednesday comics stuff (which isn't bad for a fluff piece actually). If you're the Editor-in-Chief for a line as large as DC comics and you have time to write a monthly on top of that, methinks you aren't spending enough time on your first job.

Other than the obvious sales hit this will mean for a Legion book I'm not too bothered by this news to be honest.
Manapaul's art is very pretty but I'm enjoying Clayton Henry's just as much on the Legion story and that's the one that's the pull for me here anyway.
As for writing, well, some other guy is already the co-writer on the Legion story anyway isn't he? Hopefully he'll have the chops to pick up the slack when Geoff departs.
I will be surprised if this news turns out to be true though. Kon-el is Geoff's favourite character in comics and I was under the impression this project was something of a labour of love for him. I really thought he would be on this one for the long haul.

Just to throw even more fuel on the speculation fire, Bleeding Cool just broke the story that Paul Levitz might be stepping down as Publisher. Since his plate will be clear now....

That would be interesting indeed.
To add to the conspiracy even more Keith Giffen asked at the 50th Anniversary celebration last year whether anybody would be interested in Paul Levitz and himself returning to the Legion.

That sucks...but it wasn't that hard to see it coming looking at John's monthly workload.
It sucks for the Legion because Johns was a key to building a new audience...
And hmmm...the way these two guys bolted, it makes me wonder what the sales were on Adventure #1.
I don't think Robinson will be the new writer...writing the Legion is a herculean assignment(and I'm amazed Johns was able to do it with all the other humongous cast books he is writing) and I can't see them handing the JLA and the Legion to the same writer.
I'm hoping it's JMS...he is a Legion fan and I think his background makes him a good choice..
I don't really know why I consider the writer being some sort of Legion fan as some sort of good omen though...if you think about it, it really isn't. It's just an intuitive connection I guess.
It'll be interesting to see what happens by Adventure #6...I mean, we don't know for sure there won't be a LSH relaunch coming out around that same time....
Johns had a lot of subplots in the works, who knows, maybe he's planning on wrapping them up by issue 6.
I am surprised he's leaving Kon-El though....that is definitely one of his favorite characters and a character he clearly wants to write, that's why I have to conclude the reason he is leaving is clearly workload related....

I actually like Giffen and Levitz working together on the Legion. But maybe that's just me...
I can thank them for some of my favorite stories, at least...
