Hopefully, there's going to be more than one ring and one Green Lantern.
The galaxy is one huge place, not to mention 'universe', which I wish that they wouldn't because there's no way a few beings can police a universe.
There'd have to be Legions and Legions of them.

While the results weren't posted, it's possible that Paul assigned the percentages to the voting Legionnaires, giving us at least a hint as to how the voting went.

For instance, Earth-Man had two votes, so perhaps that means he had a fairly decent number of people voting for him, and Paul just assigned him the appropriate percentage, which ended up being two votes, which he assigned to Shady and Gates, to avoid making him look even *more* like a creep by depicting him as having voted for himself, or assigning it to any of the Earth-humans, tainting them with racist overtones.

Is there now any doubt that our republic election system has some SERIOUS flaws in it??

Some interesting stuff:

Earth-man votes would seem to be in the "Lets throw a curveball" camp, and really got an impressive number.

Phantom Girl's on-line campaign was pushed hard here and a few other places, and it looks liek it paid some dividends, but not enough to combat Brainy and Mon's popularity.

Gates did quite well, showing probably a mix of the aforementioned "curveball" crowd and people who have affection for the character and the reboot.

Surprising to see Dawny with over 900 votes. She's not someone who's name came up much in on-line discussions.

Not surprising to see Dirk do poorly. Having the character declare his intentions to run in the story itself was the kiss of death.

A bit of a surprise to see Jan so low given his well-regarded run during the Prior Levitz run, but he's also been a non-factor in the series to date, so maybe understandable.

Gates at #5 is the big shock to me. Reboot fans representing? Or the 'curveball' crowd Dave mentions? Tough to say.

Cosmic Boy got 945 votes and came in 6th? God, some people are unimaginative.

The results of that poll just affirm my belief that Reader-Elections are a bad idea.

The most interesting leader the team's ever had (Dream Girl) was (apparently) the result of a fan rigging the election.

I hereby vow that the next time this book has a Reader-Election I intend to stuff the ballot in an effort to prevent a result as boring as this one was.

The character hates the idea of heirarchical leadership, so I'd say 'curveball.'

Making the election online, IMO, made it too easy for people who don't even care about the Legion to push buttons for candidates who would be ridiculously ill-suited to being the leader, 'because it would be funny.'

Limiting it to people who care enough to pay for a stamp might weed out some of the griefers, who just want to mess things up for their own amusement.
