Lots of speculation on the voting. - <strike> Why did Dawny Abstain?</strike> Nevermind, she's still in a coma from the events in Adventure. Geez, it's on the next page even. - Why would Gates of all people vote for Earth-Man, unless it's to spoil his ballot? - Quislet voting for Gates is funny. I want a Gates/Quislet team-up, like yesterday! - For all Polar Boy's talk about how great Sun Boy would be, he turns around and votes for himself? Too funny. - Also Polar Boy and Brainy both break tradition and vote for themselves. Guess that tradition really is dead now. - Split politics in the Ranzz household? - Guess Yera's not officially on the team then?

So it's: Legion leader GL Mon-El and deputy Brainiac V?
We will be seeing a lot of green next year... I hope this means big, pro-active, LSH stances, as determined by Querl and with Lar in the frontline (Remember the Conspiracy?). GL Gand should start his tenure by dropkicking Absorbancy Boy's arse to Uranus.
The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds; and the pessimist fears that this is true.

Hmm. Considering PG was doing so well in the poll, I'm surprised that's not reflected by having at least 1 member vote for her.
I wish they would've made former leaders ineligible as they've done in the past.
If the election was held after Mon-El resigned, how did he win? Guess I'll have to read the story.
I would think Earth Man's prejudice would make him vote for a Terran.

The breakdown of who members voted for is interesting, but I'd be more interested in a breakdown of actual reader votes.

This is a very confusing list. - Why is Gates voting for the xenophobe? I get Quislet voting for one of the only other non-humanoids on the team, but Gates' vote is truly baffling.
- Why is Earth Man voting for Polar Boy? Not only isn't Polar Boy Terran, but he's also such a lightweight. I can't see Earth Man respecting Brekk enough to vote for him. Was it a protest vote to show contempt for the process as a whole?
- I'm curious to see a one-panel reason for Ayla's vote. Is she that nostalgic for the period of Legion history that prompted her to leave the team?
- I also don't see Vi having enough respect for Polar Boy to vote for him. Maybe she voted from Florida...
- T-Wolf voting for Cosmic Boy just seems out of left field. Maybe just a vote of confidence in the outgoing leader?
I won't get a chance to read this for a while, but I hope that at least some of these questions are answered.

Wow, I was expecting more than one vote for a Legion lady.
Given Gates classic disregard for the whole concept of leadership in general, his vote makes a perverse sort of sense. Voting for someone to be leader would be a mocking insult, not an endorsement, from him.

I think Earth Man voted for Polar Boy because he's the only one on the team Kirt can relate to. They were both rejected by the Legion... though they went in the opposite direction after that.

Alternatively, if we're supposed to buy the notion that EM is "reformed", then it's conceivable that Gates might be one of the members most willing to give him a fair chance to prove himself. Well, it at least makes as much sense as Shady sleeping with him.

I voted for Tyroc, but of those leading the polls I hoped Phantom Girl would win. I don't follow Flash, but I assume XS is unavailable to vote. No doubt she would've voted for Mon-El (M'Onel) or Cos as she admired them so.

I don't get why any of the membership would vote for Mon-El who had just resigned and left for parts unknown in a galaxy far far away, OR Cosmic Boy, who couldn't resign the position fast enough to suit him.

A) They didn't want him to leave. B) They wanted to stuff it in Earth-Man's face.

Anyone know the final tally for real world votes? I'd be interested in seeing that too.
I was so hoping Tyroc would win.. ah well.

Well, it at least makes as much sense as Shady sleeping with him. [/b]Yeah, and when Gates is having a particularly bad day, he can comfort himself with the knowledge that at least he's not running around in a freakin' thong all the time. I, too, was annoyed to see the women get such short shrift. But what else is new? You know what we're like-- always jumping in bed with creepy dudes or mind-wiping our teammates on a whim or bursting in our friends without knocking and stuff. We're just not fit to rule or whatever.

Well, it at least makes as much sense as Shady sleeping with him.[/b]The thing is, it's not really conceivable that Gates would do that, give EM a fair chance. Gates could give a rat's patootie about stuff like that. His vote for EM would either be sarcastic - stupid Earth gov put EM here, let's make him leader, which is just as stupid. Or he thinks it would be funny to watch EM stiff everybody. Or he thinks, given Rokk's current attitude and everyone thinking Rokk is lucky to have survived his term, that EM might bite the dust. Which is something Gates would like since he's a bit vindictive and EM hates him because he's a bug from another planet. Shady's motivations are beyond me. This vote is not new. Only Iron Butt Imra and The Beautiful Nura have ever been Legion leaders in this boot (original and retro), that I remember. Jasmine was in the reboot, I think. I think in this case, it's because it's Lar, whom the new readers know from the Supes titles and the old readers want to vex EM/Tasmia and maybe, Levitz. I voted for Lar for those reasons, and because he's my favorite and I want him around! Simple

I also find it hard to believe that Brainy came in second in the real-life poll. I thought we were all sick of seeing him on every page.
