Let's say, for whatever reason, the decision was made to reboot the Legion yet again for the DCNu. However, instead of rebooting with the typical Silver Age Legionnaires, editorial decides to create a Legion plucking its membership from all major eras of the team. Just which Legionnaires will make the cut though?
I've decided for this poll to try and build a traditionally sized roster of 25 Legionnaires. The twist, though, is that this ISN'T the 25 most popular Legionnaires. Instead, I've divided the unique members over the Legion's history into 25 chronological 'groupings' and you must vote for one Legionnaire per group to see on a rebooted team. A Legion where only ONE of the three founders is a member. Only ONE super/Daxamite cousin. Only one of Shooter's Four. Whoever wins, it'll definitely be a Legion we've never seen before. So get to voting!

WoW!!! That was really tough. I generally like to pair up Legionnaires for a balance when I put together a team. Like: Brainy/White Witch (Science/Magic), Saturn Girl/Mon-El (Mind/Body), Colosal Boy/Shrinking Violet (Grows/Shrinks), etc. for most of the team then throw in all the least human looking for the last 5 or so. This poll didn't allow so much for that and made me have to rethink my choices. Cool!

That's one of the fun things about this arrangement, I've found. The team may be a bit impractical and be missing certain power or skill types, but the results are definitely interesting. For example, my Legion within the confines of the poll is actually 80% female! Pretty cool.

I found myself actually keeping track of the gender balance as I went along, as well as thing like "I voted for character X, probably best not to vote for character Y with the same powers".
It would be interesting to experiment with different ways of grouping the Legionnaires, though.

That was a bit of fun there. Some hard choices. At first I though of doing like EDE said with trying to balance, but just decided to go with my gut feeling. I think the end result actually was pretty balanced.
Active LMB character is still Beast Boy.

I really liked this poll. You sub-divided the members very well. Can you post a villain version please?

Awesome poll. Some totally painful choices, for me. (I woulda picked all three Adventure Close-Out Legionnaires, and half of the Academy recruits, if I could have!)
I couldn't find Lamprey in the 'pick two' options at the end, so I voted for her in the Academy section, and then picked Nightwind as one of my 'wild cards.'
I couldn't very well not pick both of them!

Thanks for the compliments! Glad everyone is having fun. Now that Set has mentioned it, I -did- overlook Lamprey, Power Boy, and Shadow Kid in the "Wild Card" section. My apologies for that. Feel free to mention them in comments here if they would have been your votes.

This was a great poll and like everybody else really had me thinking who I would want and who I could actually have..
I did find the first few questions particularly difficult though as how can you really choose two from Tinya, Lu, Thom, Querl and Jo? All five of which would walk into any Legion of mine. Even the final question did not help as one of them had to give way to Laurel as surely everyone wants a Legion with Kara and Laurel fighting over Brainy?

Difficult! I tried to pick just my favourite out of each individual grouping rather than trying to figure out how they all would work together in a team, so I wasn't so much considering power overlap or complimentary abilities so much as just who I like as a character.
If I were gonna do it in terms of what would make the best team of 25, I think I would have different results...

Awesome poll! Really made me think... now this is a Legion that is all-inclusive.
And THANK YOU for the Wild Cards! It was awesomely difficult picking between the Reboot Legionnaires.
I wonder how voting was affected by other choices in the poll? For example, would Dragonmage have gotten more votes if his era had come before White Witch's? Did anyone pick Veilmist as a substitute for Gates?

After picking Veilmist, I did skip on Gates.
But I picked both White Witch and Dragonmage. Dragonmage never really used 'magic' anyway, he just shot really powerful energy blasts and called them magic, it seemed, so he pretty much made up for my not picking Lightning Lad or Lass...

My choices, for what's it's worth (and while I still remember them)...
Click Here For A Spoiler 1. Cosmic Boy 2. Triplicate Girl 3. Invisible Lyle 4. Brainiac 5 5. Superboy (Clark) 6. Shrinking Violet 7. Matter-Eater Lad 8. Nemesis Kid 9. Shadow Lass 10. Tyroc 11. White Witch 12. Quislet 13. Nightwind 14. Infectious Lass 15. Calamity King 16. Spider Girl 17. Veilmist 18. Catspaw 19. Kinetix 20. Gear 21. Theena 22. Night Girl 23. Comet Queen 24. Bouncing Boy 25. Er... Crap! I already forgot the last one! Dream Girl, maybe?

Aargh! I had to choose between Element Lad and Dream Girl! I was slightly traumatized till I saw the last section of 'pick ups'. I still ended up leaving Infectious Lass out- the shame!
I did pick Veilmist and Gates-- she for planet-to-planet teleportation and Gates for line of sight teleporting, a distinction that I think is pretty interesting.
I toyed with picking both Cham and Chameleon Girl, but didn't. I still think reading about how they're different would've been interesting. Her identity as an actress expressed through changing shapes would've been fun. She *really* should've rarely been one to stretch her limbs, etc. Oh, well- a lost opportunity.
I also thought about picking both Chemical King and Kid, but decided not to.
I kind of assumed that picking either of Saturn Girl or Lightning Lad would mean the other's not an official member, but is off the roll call taking care of the kids.
An illuminating exercise. It's fun to imagine Nightwind or Lamprey or Gravity Lad as official Legionnaires... until I realize it means no Shrinking Violet or Wildfire or Ayla.

Well, technically Flederweb wasn't actually a Khund (although come to think of it they never did say where he was from). That said, I voted for Veilmist, mainly because having her around would make for some interesting interpersonal issues.
First comic books ever bought: A DC four-for-47-cents grab bag that included Adventure #331. The rest is history.

What fun!!
I appreciated the 2 Wild Cards, because I got to choose:
DREAM GIRL (deciding between Dreamy & Tenzil was hard, but I had to select my good ol' MEL)
and ULTRA BOY (I had to select Brainiac 5 over him because I feel the B5 character- or someone like him- is indispensible.
Others I chose (that I recall)
Saturn Girl, Triplicate Girl, Veilmist, Andromeda, Infectious Lass, Computo, Polar Boy, Night Girl, Power Boy, Gravity Kid, Impulse (Kent), Kinetix, Princess Projectra...
Yeah, looks like my LSH would be heavy on the chicks and include the gays!
ETA: I also remember now selecting Colossal Boy and Sun Boy in their categories.

Fun poll! A few clear favourites in the results.
I was choosing based on powers, but wound up with 14 females. It was hard to get the Johnsboot version of Storm Boy out of my mind, but I chose him because I like his power and, hopefully, he wouldn't go all evil and crazy.

I couldn't get past choosing between element lad and dream girl .... I think they are both essential to what *is* the legion .... I picked andromeda which was almost tough ... And briainac five won over ultra boy but I think ultra boy is also essential .... I'll have to gather my strength to finish the quiz later ! I'll have to strategize my wild cards and return to the quiz .

Ok I did it .... Seems like there are some strong trends but .... Phantom girl and kono winning their races ?? I had some shocking results ... I chose lightning lass over dream girl partly because I chose Saturn girl over lightning lad ... And then I got to choose dream boy so my wild cards went to ultra boy and element lad ! Some groupings were harder than others for sure ... I picked flederweb cause I didn't pick any athletes until then besides strength . I didn't get shrinking violet in there . I usually like to lay out all my choices and then arrange instead of doing it separated like this. Great poll !!!! No kid quantum 1 ?or did I miss that ...

Fascinating results, and many not that surprising to me. There is definitely some love for characters like Kent Shakespeare, Infectious Lass, Andromeda and Kid Quantum. DC seems to continue to struggle with direction for Legion. It just seems so obvious that readers would be interested in seeing some of the characters who are trending well here utilized in the actual books.

Power Boy is doing incredibly well. I knew there was a lot of love for Lamprey and Nightwind out there, but I never expected to see votes for Jed!
Heh. I'm intrigued that I'm not the only person who picked Nemesis Kid, of the 'Shooter Four.' I wonder how much of that is because of the cartoon characterization?
