Well, I didn't see an official one (not that we don't all predict the plot in every other thread) so let's throw them out there.

I'm going to put my hat in the ring and say that Harmonia Li is the Time Trapper in this boot. I saw someone else mention it and I like the idea, so I'll go for it.

Whatchoo guys think? Any predictions for the coming year? *curious curious*

Sun Boy has some sort of breakdown, or is possessed by a bad guy.

First time for this continuity, barring his ages ago incidence of 'space fatigue.'

He's been acting oddly, and the Simonson-drawn issue had Dreamy predicting something funky about big rocks, and ended with Sun Boy attending a solstice ceremony at Stonehenge, foreshadowing something coming up involving that scene.

Aaaaahhhhh, yes. Yeeeeessss. I remember now! Funny how forgettable some of the storylines in this last year and a half's issues have been.

The Ranzz kids are erased from continuity. At this rate, that would be as surprising to me as Jacques having his costume changed.

I think having the Ranzz kids disappear would bother me about as much as Jacques having his costume changed. XD

I'm still annoyed that Dacey and Dorrit aren't in continuity.

Re: Dacey and Dorrit (and Graym's retconned brother Garridan/Validus);

I can't figure out why Saturn Girl's kids would be A)identical twins and B) not telepaths. Did she contribute any DNA at all to her own children, or did Garth's DNA just sort of push hers out of the way?

Or is the terrible secret of Garth and Imra's marriage that she isn't the mother of 'their' children? And how does that work, anyway? smile

Well, Dacey and Dorrit are telepaths. And Garridan is kind of telepathic (he gets "mental lightning" by crossing his parents powers, at least in the old school continuity). So it's really just Graym that is the oddball.

There are a lot of interesting questions about how the inheritance of powers work, though. In the Adult Legion story, it was suggested that kids only inherit inborn powers, and not ones received by other means, but that rule wasn't applied consistently, even within that story.

I always kind of imagined that powers weaken with cross-breeding, so a half-Titanian would have weaker mental powers than a full Titanian, and, say, an eighth-part Titanian might have no mental powers at all. Which would really put the kink in the Master's kinky plan to breed a super-army from mind-controlled Legionnaire sex slaves.

1) We will witness an interplanetary war between two homeworlds of active Legionnaires.

2) We will see at least two instances of possession of Legion members- one by a malevolent entity, another by the ghost of a dead legionnaire or old friend

3) Khundish Legionnaires

4) For some reason, an essential part of 31st century technology will cease to function. A Legionnaire will give his life in order to restore it.

5) Before the end of the year: Mordru. Again.

Next time we have a DC/Marvel crossover, I want it to take place in the Hostessverse

And that, my friend, is a damn shame. I'm always up for a good kinky sex-ark.

Dacey and Dorritt don't bother me as much as Pol Krinn (Rokk and Lydda's son)

There should be a whole "next generation" of Legion tykes running around (perhaps even old enough to start adventuring on their own), imo.

True, but if they were in their teens that would put our beloved Legionnaires somewhere in their mid to late 30's. NONE of them look to be in their mid to late 30's.

I'm guessing the 31st century has some seriously awesome plastic surgery/botox. XD

We've gone from 40 year lifespans to 70+ average lifespans (and some 60 and 70 year olds, like Arnold and Raquel, being as healthy as most 30 year olds) in the last 1000 years, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if people in the next 1000 years live to 150+ (or, potentially, forever) regularly, and are active and 'young' well into their 50's and 60's.

The 30th century, on the other hand, has never been portrayed as having significant medical advances, such as braintaping or clone backups or machines capable of keeping someone's brain alive despite any level of trauma to the rest of the body (with it perhaps being easier to cut someone's head off and stick it in a jar and take it to have a new body grown than carry the body away...).

On the one hand, I'd like that.

On the other hand, I don't feel like the 'old generation' has even been seriously touched upon. I mean, we literally know crap all about Bgtzl, just to pick one example, and PG has been around since 1961. It's almost ridiculous how little real development some of these characters have seen over fifty-ish years of publication.

Yeah, I've always been a bit confused by the lack of medical advancement in the Legion comics. I mean, they can travel through time but they can't find a formula to slow the aging process?

Then again, wasn't Coluan longevity supposedly artificially produced at some point in the distant past? Like, so long ago that they don't know how it worked? How is it everyone ELSE hasn't figured it out too?

They've flirted with the idea of extended lifespans in the 30th/31st century a couple of times. The MacGuffin in the first Starfinger story was a mineral that reversed the aging process, and Levitz wrote a story during his first run that explained away why they've been using Lad/Lass/Kid codenames for so many years using a extended lifespan = extended adolescence line.

I will return triumphantly and become Deputy Leader within the year!

Okay, maybe not Deputy. I'd settle for custodian of the Legion HQ Tesseract System so I can store my extensive wardrobe.

I predict that Brainy's "original sin" of releasing the original Brainiac in LSH #0 will be revealed when he encounters Tharok. I further predict that we will see some major change in the status quo for Brainy, perhaps leading to his being replaced by the Coluan child from the zero issue.

My Legion Predictions for 2013:

1) Mon-El gets an issue with a story that focuses on him.

2) As per the upcoming cover spoilers, we get some serious Legion Espionage Squad action

3) Glorith assumes almost regular appearance status

4) No appearances by Black Witch, Blok, XS, Quislet, Matter-Eater Lad or Colossal Boy.

5) Mekt returns, but no mention about his possible twin.

(First post on the new board - woo hoo!)
