note: Element Lad FINALLY graces on the Legion cover!
2nd note: notice that DC no longer used the Approved Codes of Comics, instead of using that, they have gone Marvel-style using "T" for Teen, "A" for All, etc.

My first thought on reading that: Didn't the reboot Legion already do this story?

I love the new look of Nightwind.

With a few posters speculating about the new character being this universe's Zoe, I think it'd be cool to "retell" or "unboot" a few of the reboot stories with twists just like the Reboot did with this Legion. I love the Marvel Family and would have had Captain Marvel Junior and Mary Marvel be members of the Adventure-Era team (on Superboy and Supergirl's days off) if I were writing the Legion.

Given all the continuity changes, it's not clear whether her future is still connected to the reboot Legion or the retroboot Legion...
I for one would be happy for her to make a return!

I for one would be happy for her to make a return! Given the changes after IC,52 and FC, I would imagine that her 'world' will turn out to be and always have been connected to Earth 5. And, that her interactions with the reboot Legion happened like Conner's interactions with the reboot Legion and Supergirl's interactions with the threeboot Legion. Dimensions were crossed as well as time. I hate interdimesional temporal mechanics... gives me a headache. P.S. I would not be adverse to Thunder reappearing, but honestly I'd rather that Marvel Lad from a por. . .ummm . . .slas . . .errr . . . fanfic I read once, would be the Marvel Family representative for the 31st Century.

I wasn't really looking forward to the Legion Academy arc, but now that I know Urk will be in it, I suddenly can't wait.

In other words, not appropriate for kids age 12 and under. In other, other words, if this had been the system way back when, I would not have been able to begin reading DC Comics until after most of my friends had already begun to outgrow them.

If the classic multiverse still existed, it would be pretty cool to see what an Earth-S Legion might look like, especially if drawn by somebody who could ape the Schaffenberger style.

I'd be more interested in seeing a future descendent of Tawky Tawny, Osiris or Isis than any of the Marvels.

I'm thrilled that Legion of the Damned is being collected...and at such a great price!!
Judging by his covers & the preview pages, Phil Jimenez is turning out some of the best work of his career on this Legion Academy arc!! He keeps tweeting about how this series is really churning up his creative juices & it definitely shows!!

Legion Academy has the potential of becoming the early 21st century version of what the original teen Legion of Super-Heroes used to be. I can see how Jimenez would be excited about that. I'm excited about it too.

I am going to predict that the gold-skinned, purple-cloaked young woman some people are identifying with Zoe Saugin is actually the new 31st-century Amethyst. I have not really followed L.E.G.I.O.N. or R.E.B.E.L.S., but I find Tribulus disturbing for a couple of reasons. First, he is obviously a 21st-century take (improvement?) on Validus, who was originally one-of-a-kind. After 1,000 years, is there a planetful of Tribu-Validuses extant? Or do they just show up every once in a while, like a bad cold? Second, why is he named after an ostensible "Testosterone Booster" ? Does he get tangled up in spam filters? Apparently he's been around for a couple of years. But as I say, I don't follow.
Next time we have a DC/Marvel crossover, I want it to take place in the Hostessverse

There has also been a member of the Sinestro Corps that resembles a Validus as well from Green Lantern #25 (2008).

I seriously hope that Levitz doesn't have to make the 31st century he's writing about conform to *anything* published in REBELS. Example 1- the just-mentioned Tribulus. Example 2- the wretched 'update' to Starhaven.
If there's any conforming at *all*, it should be REBELS to LSH. No matter how much back-pedaling's involved.

I sort of like the REBELS take on things. I like Bedard and St. Aubin, quite a bit. Sorry, ML.
Tribulus isn't really Validus in that Trib doesn't really display a brain in that clear skull and he is totally controlled by a telepathic implant placed in the back of Vril's head. Something else else that he probably foolishly showed to and explained to, Blackfire.
And I could love for her to be Amethyst! Zoe or Amy would work for me, or even an amalgam of the two! I'm excited!

No, Candlelight, he displays two brains in a clear skull. Take a look at image 3, opening post in this thread. Maybe he looked different before.

On this cover, yes.
But in the past, as late as .REBELS #24, in a small panel as Vril leaves Blackfire, Trib is shown and the top of his head is flat.
I'll go back and see bigger and clearer pictures, but I know that I looked for and didn't find any brains on the top of his head.
I'll check though.
I think what we see there might be a development of the current story arc, when Tribulus is sent out to free Vril from Starro.
Either the two brains represent the recently born baby starro's, by now small adults or someone inplanted brains from somewhere/grew some brains in Trib to get him off of the inplanted brain control device that Vril has.
Just guesses, of course.
