See the PDF preview that you can get here . James Kochalka is contributing to a story that appears to involve Adventure-era Cosmic Boy and Chamelon Kid looking for a lost Proty in the clubhouse. As it is with the previous Bizarro book, different writers and artists are working together on the stories, so there's no indication who wrote the story. I remember when Kochalka was working on the story he posted a query on COMICON.com about issues of Adventure that involved Computo, so maybe we'll see Computo appear as well.
"NO, NO, NO, computer. NO CHEESE. I said, "PLEASE" ... please."

Hi guys, Haven't started reading it yet, but you might want to know there are two Legion stories in the Bizarro World Hardcover released this week by DC. Only read the first one, "Where's Proty", that shows the dangers of shape-shifting in a bathroom

How's the rest of the book, Pariscub? Some of the bizarro stuff is pretty awful ... I'm still haunted by that bizarro Legion story.

Well, i've just had a quick look so far, but it looks as good as the first Bizarro HC and TPB they did 3 years ago... All kind of independant artists and writers working one weird DC stories... It's very similar to the first one, so I expect it to be as good... I'll let you know more once I've read it

the "where's proty" story is very funny, and it involves Proty, Saturn Girl and a bathroom.

the softcover will probably be released in 9 to 12 months time. This is what happened with the first Bizarro Hardcover a few years ago. In the end, there are THREE Legion stories. Thee forementioned "where's proty?", another short story where Cheerleader Lass is rejected by the Legion and she "cheers" the other rejects up to get rid of theclubhouse, and a third where Brainy "corporates" the Legion to cut on costs. very funny

This was much, much better than I expected. There wasn't much "bizarro" presence - one story, I think, had the actual white-faced "Me hate you so much" type of guy. The others were irreverant takes on a variety of DC heroes (Batman, Justice League, Supes, Aquaman, the Spectre and a few others) by creators who seldom (if ever) do superheroes. Actually, the Legion stories weren't the funniest ones, IMO - but they were okay, especially "corporate Brainy". A few of the stories were serious.
Two worthy appearances by Darkseid! And there was a fourth "Legion" appearance, by Proty, beloved of wisecrackers everywhere.

Just reread it today. The final story is a Deadman story with guest appearance by Darkseid (or rather Duskshade???) and his two sons to Limbo. Some of the stories are a hoot, while some are just pedestrian. The Supergirl/Comet could have been a classic silver age story, while the Legion and Cheerleader Lass story was great comeuppence. The "Marvel Family Circus" was great and the Harvey Dent "Dinner for Two" is priceless. The book however, is $29.95.

From Jeff Peckham: BIZARRO WORLD. hardcover
This is not a reissue of the hardcover and later trade paperback from a few a years back. This is an entirely new book. It is a series of short features of the expected variable quality in writing and art, and it features not one, not two, but THREE LSH-specific features.
First: "Where's Proty?" - An Adventure LSH style short written by Abe Foreau, and drawn by James Kochalka in a style that seems to fall somewhere between the Simpsons, and Charles Shulz's Peanuts. The story? Chameleon Boy is trying to find Proty so he can give it a bath.
Second: "Out with the In Crowd" by Evan Dorkin and Andi Watson answers the never asked Adventure-era question 'What if all the rejected applicants got together and ganged up on the LSH?"
Third: "Legion.Com" by Ariel Bordeaux and Rick Aldergott looks at what happens when Acting Leader Brainiac 5 tries to improve the security system around the rocketship clubhouse. The art made me think of the fill-in issues Jim Mooney drew back in the Adventure era.
Also, Proty 2 gets a Silly Putty kind of panel in the "Daily Htrae" 'newspaper' page by Dorkin and R Sikoryak, Krypto has a solo story, and the Legion's Supergirl (Oh, come on: Kara Zor-El, the Silver Age one) has a story of her own which features Comet the Super-Horse.
The big question for you to ask yourself: Is this much Legion content (12 pages plus a Proty panel) worth paying $29.95 (without any discounts you might get at your local shop) for this 200 page hardcover, or will you be better off waiting for the nearly inevitable trade paperback in a year or two? I can't answer that one for you. I'll just say I bought it, but I waited a week before I did. I had no idea that 1) this wasn't a reprint and 2) that it would contain new Legion goodies. Did anyone get this? Pov, if you are watching, what are the chances of getting a copy now through DCBS?

Dang, dang. I knew it was an all-new book, but I bought the $30 hardcover of the first one and never got around to reading it all.
But this sounds very tempting.
Maybe the softcover....

Hey, this sounds cool! I'll have to look for it now. Normally, I would have skimmed right over this too--thanks, Scooter!

Pariscub got this book: http://www.legionworld.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=002954
It's had some excellent reviews, not necessarily for its Legion content but overall quality of the contributions.

I asked about this at my CBS. Its retailing at around £22 which is a bit steep for a few legion pages. The CBS dont know of any plans to release it as a paperback yet, but surely DC will do this?
Or do i just wait for it to turn up on ebay?

If I can't get it at lest at the same discount I could have gotten from DCBS (35%) then I'll wait for the paperback or try eBay myself. Here's a sample of one of the Legion pieces.
