Picked this issue up today (I was on vacation last week). Pretty good issue, in fact I think it was the strongest one so far (although I could be biased since I just read it so recently). The action was exciting and well paced.
Don't care for Shady's dialogue, she just seemed really off. Also didn't like Imra's fainting spell, but everyone else really equipped themselves well. So solid issue, but I really really hope that they get these costumes fixed because some of them are just really hard to look at.

I vote to have as many Legionnaires as possible. It was disappointing that M-E Lad was dismissed so quickly, and I'll be disappointed if Chameleon Girl, Night Girl, Chuck and Lu are put on waivers as well. Is that silly Tax Rule in place limiting membership to 25? This is a Legion!!! I don't care if it takes a while to see everyone in rotation - it has been only 4 issues so far...
I too believe that Earth Man will have a relationship with a Durlan, not Shady, as portrayed on an upcoming Legion cover. Remember the founder's portrait with the moving eyes? It's just a matter of which Durlan. Any character who would be affectionate towards Earth Man knowing he blinded Color Kid and murdered Double Header loses all support from me. If Yera cheats on my favorite character Colossal Boy, she's dead to me.
I'd buy two issues if we could graphically witness Earth Man as a shattered heap under the heal of Colossal Boy.
With thirty pages of story (yeah, I went thru and counted...) I'd like to see maybe an eight page mini story each issue concentrating on a handful of Legionnaires, a la Cary Bates, with a different roll call each issue.
I'm still buying Legion & Adventure. Thanks, Paul

So... has anyone figured out what happened to the Servant's Dagger of Darkseid? Did the guy destroy the blade himself, or is this another possible Imra TK moment?

After all, he was fooling around with "Violet" way back when, knowing full well that she already had a long-time boyfriend.

Doesn't Avalon have something to do with Amethyst, also?

Amethyst is tied to Sorcerer's World, not directly to Avalon. It was mentioned at one point, IIRC, that Avalon, Orando, Naltor, and several other Magical worlds were actually colonists from the Sorcerer's World.

In fact, up until the point, I think that the real Violet had either just politely rebuffed him or ignored him. So, y'know, I love the character and that particular arc, but A) he wasn't really good at taking a hint or taking "no" for an answer. And B) I'm pretty sure they weren't teens at this point anymore, either. This is Totally different from cheating on a marriage commitment, which my scenario described.
As far as being the 'Sex Police' - I'll pass. I have enough jobs already. This is all just my humble opinion. So, where was it stated that Mon-El and Shadow Lass were either engaged or married? I'm not being snide or sarcastic here. I honestly don't know.
In any case, they'd broken up by the time the new storyline had begun. Shady isn't Lar's property, if indeed she ever was. IRL, not everyone who separates from a partner will automatically put themselves on a shelf while they wait to get divorce papers completed. IMHO, that doesn't make them evil or bad people who deserve either literal or metaphoric "death." Not everyone reacts to a break-up in the same way.
Honestly, a lot of the opinions certain posters have made about this whole thing smacks to me of double standards. It's pretty depressing. For that reason, if no other, I hope that we're being deliberately misled and that Shady isn't going to end up rolling in the hay with EM.

The Naltorian ability to see the future is magic based rather than scientifically based and Myssa (who lacked the dominate trate of being able to see the future) had the recessive gift for magic which she eventually used to become the White Witch. I agree that I would like to see more exploration of the magical side to Naltor though.

When you are my age, kids can be up to 20-something. 3) Shadow Lass cut off part of her pinky finger in what I interpret as some kind of an engagement ceremony at the end of Magic Wars while Mon-El was dying. Whether this remains in continuity (it was a Levitz story) I don't know. More recently, I just stated that I thought Shady was a red herring for the upcoming Earth Man cover. I made no other remarks either way in her regard. Why you attached your statement about me being the 'sex police' to your statement about the Shady/Mon-El relationship I don't understand. 3) This is just a comic book, for entertainment purposes only. Please don't get depressed about the storylines or poster's comments. I recommend you treat it as light-hearted fun.

Well, yes and no, KQ. It is "light-hearted" fun, but it's also (as somebody or other once said) how our culture "talks to itself." So for example, we get the futuristic version of "torn-from-today's-headlines," courtesy of Earth Man and his buddies.
There's nothing wrong with that, and there's nothing wrong with people having opinions. But they don't come out of nowhere, and I don't see anything wrong in talking about that. Or even incompatible with "fun."

I don't even know enough about the GL stuff to get why Yat can't just go out and recruit new members himself. Maybe somebody else can enlighten me...?

In my experience, that has the potential to cause more problems than it solves. Anyway, he really needs a more flattering haircut first.

I reread Legion of 3 Worlds again recently. I hate that Johns killed off a great long time character like Rond and left us with a horrible character like Sodam Yot.

Yeah, what an exchange! Maybe we'll find out that Yat was the one killed and Rond has been ensorcereled to act like Yat. No? I WISH.
For my money, if EM was a woman and Lar dropped Shady to fall in love with Kirta, I'd feel the same way about the situation as I do now. And as I've said, I don't care about the sex, I care about her leting herself 'fall' for a murdering sociopath, who tortured friends and caused them all to run for their lives as hunted animals.
That being said, I feel better. It would be so out of character for her to do that, that either it isn't her or she's really keeping an eye on him because she doesn't trust his 'unpredictability', as she put it.
Shady broke up with Lar AFTER the Lo3W's story and I'd say it was EM related. Perhaps the rings on the table have more of a meaning than first glance might give. She asked about his ring's status, what it's special properties might be. Brainy told her. (And someone as beautiful as Shady touching him is going to make any man slightly loopy, even Brainy, who called her beautiful himself, once upon a time.)
As to the bad guy, was he the former Mneumonic Kid? Someone said that.
I'm pretty sure he lost control of the Dagger's powers when Imra placed Darkseid in his mind and that power killed him, if he's actualy dead. So, techniquelly, she didn't kill him. Although, I don't blame her. With him alive, and building his powers, her kids would have never been safe from him.
But these are just my opinions, the last as a mother and grandmother who's a bit of a lioness where my babies are concerned.
A singin' and a dancin' along the way.

I was never the biggest Rond fan but he is INFINTELY more interesting than boring cry-machine Sodam Yat. He's the most painful Lantern there's ever been IMO.
The annoying thing is that we know nothing is ever going to happen to him (other than get a hideous haircut) in the 21st century Green Lantern stories because he's got to make it to the 31st century alive. Gah! There are about two dozen dead GLs that I would gladly bring back in exchange for him.

I'll have you know 21st century Sodam Yat holds my interest. Particularly his bottom in that skin tight GL uniform.
