I think that R.E.B.E.L.S. #25 cover with Lobo make his hair look like it's alive. Kinda like Medusa.

We are really due for a poster! One with all of the current Legionnaires (and hopefully Tenzil, Blok, Mysa, and the statues of Ferro Lad, Invisible Kid, Chemical King, and Karate Kid)

I wonder if it's embroidered or silkscreen/iron-on/whatever-they-use-nowadays. If it's the latter, we should definitely put together some orders to have Ceej run off some more of the shirts he had made up for SDCC '08.

Wow what a great collage piece! Is this the official cover for Phil's first Adventure Comics cover then? If so, I ain't complainin'!

His art seems to just jump off the page for me, and the colours all work really well here.
That person between Mysa and Blok is wearing a hoodie so it could be anybody with a glowing face, honestly. LOL

I cannot wait to see Lu in action showing off her new, amped up power (not to mention seeing Chuck again on a regular basis). All this PLUS the academy!? I think it's going to be great!!

Hey- you're right! I thought that was a youngish male with long red hair the first time I saw the art. I thought of Sun Emperor, but decided that was less than likely.

Now that I see the hood and look more closely, that could be either a young man or a woman, possibly with a crown or other headgear of some kind. Or an energy effect. Or a trick of the light.

Mysa is creeping me out. I sense a villainess episode approaches. Blok looks sad. Guess he fears the same thing. That looks like the same species of bird that appeared in Magic Wars, if not the exact same one. That makes the guess of Harlak for the hooded one more likely than not.

Lamprey looks spectacular! I'm surprised how excited I was to see Jed Rikane , who looks great thanks to Phil Jimenez, on a cover. Who ever thought that'd happen post 2000?

Harlack was an apprentice wizard as well, which is keeping with the Academy theme. Remember that magic also alters one's appearance.

Chuck & the Lu's are watching an holographic image of the students training/sparring.
The fist above Jed belongs to the guy flying next to him.(Gravity Kid?)
The bottom middle panel is another shot of the students training/sparring.
Phil mentions on FB that the reason the cover wasn't ready for the initial solicitations were all the intricate lighting effects used. It meant his instructions for the colorist had to be very specific.
