Yeah-- even with the SA Superboy/Supergirl set. 13 boys, 2 girls, and now 2 villains... sigh...

The Composite Supes....?
Now that's taking the Supes and Bats licensing as far as it can go.
I hear we're also getting a Perez Nightwing sometime. Wonder how that'll look.

Thanks, Gary. Perez Nightwing's coming out in the same First Appearances wave as the Composite Superman, OM. with the new Batgirl ( ) and classic SA Riddler (!) . They should be in the November PREVIEWS solicits.

Thanks for the info, Pov. And thanks Gary for the pic. Looks good.
DC Direct still seems to be after my money, Legion figs or no.

Well, she's not Dawnstar, but she is a Legionnaire! I wonder if we'll get a Battle-Ravaged variant?

Nighty said:Well, she's not Dawnstar, but she is a Legionnaire! Except we already have the SA Kara from the Superboy/Supergirl boxed set, and Crisis/80's version really doesn't fit with the Legion figures we have already.... A shame, really... that figure looks nice.

Yeah! A battle ravaged version would be cool! They could do a beanie version - to add to the lifeless authenticity of the dead-as-a-doughnut Kara!

I know I'm in the minority here, but i didn't mind all the guys being from the same scuplt. For some reason, it reminded me of the early Swan & Plastino Legion, which were drawn sort of th esame way (i.e. same figures, different costumes).
As for the girs, why don't they use the Supergirl mold for them? No new monds, and we'd get the rest of our Legion. At least fill out the silver age roster! Who do we still need? Triplicate Girl, Phantom Girl, Shrinking Violet, Karate Kid, Princess Projectra, Matter-Eater Lad, Dream Girl, Bouncing Boy, Chemical King, Shadow Lass and Light Lass, right?
if they do go to the Kitson desinged costumes, I'll be happy for more Legion figures, but still bummed because we were so close to getting a full silver-age Legion.

Just a heads up (in case anyone missed it and for posterity's sake), DCD will be doing a few more Legion-related action figures. Namely Jimmy Olsen , Super-Pet Beppo , and reoccuring Silver Age villain Lex Luthor !

That means only Comet and Proty are now missing for the complete Super-Pets.
I can't believe that DC Direct really felt it would be too much to include a mishhapen white plastic blob with the Chameleon Boy action figure.

Official word that we will not be seeing any more DC Direct Legion in the near future: Legion of Super-Heroes
Will there be no more Legion of Super-Heroes members as action figures? Cosmic Boy to Invisible Kid are already done, and then no more… ever? Thank you. — Timo
Outside of Saturn Girl, you don't have any of the female members of the Legion of Super-Heroes action figures available (outside of Supergirl, who doesn't match up because she's part of the Superboy set). Don't leave us hanging; we want Dream Girl, Triplicate Girl/Duo Damsel, Shrinking Violet, Lightning Lass/Light Lass, Princess Projectra, and even Lana Lang as Insect Girl. Come on – I've invested a lot of money in buying the available figures. Don't let this collection be incomplete! — Dave Hutchinson
Timo and Dave: The Legion figures did have a loyal – but unfortunately, small – collector base. The line didn't sell well enough for us to continue to the point where we could add other characters, including the girls. We may revisit them at some point but, for now, the line is on hold indefinitely.

I think I'm going to be sick. DC Direct won't make Legion figures (of any kind - even with a tie-in cartoon), but they'll waste good plastic on this crap!

Yeah, I saw those yesterday.
Man, it's odd what gets rushed out sometimes. I practically begged them for waves based on the four pre-Infinite Crisis minis. That went nowhere, but we get this.
The Legion I'm not as worried about - it's likely that some company will pick up the rights to do figures based on the show.

Mattel has right of first refusal for all DC Animated stuff so my guess is they will be making the animated LSH figures. We'll have to see what comes out in February at ToyFair

Can't be too many Power Girl figures, in my opinion, but it's no excuse for dissing the Legion.
I don't understand why DC doesn't try out a series based on the Cockrum/Grell era. If knockers sell, then give us the swingin' Saturn Girl, Shadow Lass, Princess Projectra, and Shrinking Violet. Give us Bustier Cosmic Boy, Bare-Legged Colossal Boy, Oh-So-Dapper Lightning Lad and Stars-in-Your Eyes Star Boy. Give us Hard-Up Brainiac 5 holding malfunctioning Super Girl Robot (with variant robot editions)!
...but you don't have a moment where you're sitting there staring at a table full of twenty-five characters with little name signs that say, "Hi, my superpower is confusing you!"

Funny how the Superman/Batman series of figures has hit all the completed S/B storylines (Public Enemies, Supergirl, etc) except for the Legion of Super Villains arc.
Where are my Eve and Mekt Action Figures? Pacheco's rendition of them and the 70s and adult Legion were smoking.

The DCD people don't have a good grasp of marketing -- and are pretty dumb concerning their customer base.
First off, while starting at the begining with Silver Age versions of the Legion may make some kind of sense -- it was obviously not the version most fans wanted.
I think a good mix of the iconic versions from the 70s and 80s would have done much better. This is the period when Legion ruled.
I wouldn't mind a few of the current team as figures, but the current costumes for Timber Wolf, Princess Projectra and Shrinking Violet aren't much better than the SA costumes.
DCD is aware that Dawnstar scores highly in polls concerning future figures for the Crisis of Infinite Earths line -- so it's likely, she'll be the next Legion figure we see. If her figure sells well, it could result in more figures from this era.
While, I'd love many (all) members from the 70s through the final Levitz story, these are the versions that I think would do particularly well:
Lightning Lad 70/80s (virtually the same costume -- and also used in both reboots)
Wildfire 70s/80s
Timber Wolf (Cockrum era). The original Wolverine. What's not to love?!
Phantom Girl (Cockrum/Grell) Didn't care for Giffen's watered down version. Her 70s look is a disco dream.
Speaking of dreams -- Dream Girl in her 70s/80s metallic costume would be awesome. I'd go with the 70s hair over the stiff 80s do.
Colossal Boy -- oversized sculpt similar to Mongul and Darkseid. His 70s costume lasted until shortly after the Great Darnkess Saga and was used on Justice League Unlimited.
Star Boy -- he could be a variant to a Kingdom Come Starman figure -- or the new Starman debuting in the new Justice Society series.

I got the Star Boy and Sun Boy action figures at a new comic shop I discovered the other day, but only because they were used and half priced. I'm still blown away that the bozos at DCD didn't make the later figures the same scale as the 3 founders. And why did they make Ferro Lad and Timber Wolf who barely appeared in the silver age? I'd rather they did Duo Damsel and/or Light Lass.
