Has there been any news of their release? I really want a season 2 set.

I haven't seen or heard anything serious yet. I want some DC Superheroes ones, to scale, with a build a figure of Colossal Boy, with plenty of variants. I'd do the whole legion! I'd also have a Limited series of the Fatal Five with build a figure Validus, available at a con or something.
