Perhaps the glasses are actually streaming data to CK—in other words giving him the formulas needed for him to make his powers work? Is it vandalism? Is this a necessary function, because 31st century technology is quasi-organic and needs to be trimmed / pruned from time to time, as older systems have to be replaced / removed, and Urk is one of a genetically engineered caste of organisms that roam around devouring and recycling redundant or 'rogue' bits of tech left lying around. This idea is, quite frankly, brilliant!

I hope Urk remains a cypher & in the periphery. It's the mystery that makes him so interesting.

Just caught up on my last three issues of LoSH and Adventure. I just have to say Adv #523 blew me away. It's simply gorgeous and well written. The first time I've really connected to the Legion in years.

Oh. And I want a pair of Chuck's Legion PJ pants. His size should fit me well.

This was such a good issue. It was much better than LSH #10. The Academy members are so adorable, even Chemical Kid, who is a character I will love to hate.

So when will we see Legion Academy get their own title, without Adventure Comics?

I remember being a 14 year old kid writing my only letter to DC. It was to The Legion Outpost and one of the things I pitched was for The Legion Academy to be a spin-off title and get their own book. So I'm rooting for Paul and Phil's efforts to fly and have this ole dad see his boyhood dream come true.

In my eyes, this was one of the best Legion issues since the deboot. It was definitely the best Adventure Comics issue.
The reasons? Well for one point, the artwork. Jiminez does a terrific job, and for me, the artwork is always at least half of the fun reading comic books. I really felt that DC let the Legion down with the mediocre artwork til now, especially on Adventure. I only fear that now it's too late - modern masters like Jiminez should have been on the book from the beginning to boost sales!
Another reason I liked this so much? This is a new story instead of another needless rewrite of some classic yarn nobody wants to read. And it features some new characters which are fresh and feel like the Legion spirit, not to mention their interaction with some classic beloved characters like Night Girl.
For the first time with the thus far ill-fated new Adventure run, I feel like this book
a) has a reason to exist b) is telling a story that is exciting and c) might be going somewhere.
I only fear that, with DC downsizing its current line, Adventure might still be the next victim after Rebels, Freedom Fighters and stuff...

While the "floor" for titles is definitely on the rise, the best selling of the canceled slate (JSA All-Stars) had 17.5 K in sales compared to Adventure's 23K. In between the two lies Gotham City Sirens, Secret Six, Supergirl and Titans. I think Adventure has some rope left, especially considering it, Power Girl and Detective are some of the only DC titles to increase their sales last month. Hoping I'm right on this (and the title continues to add readers).
