Did any one else's copy have a printing error through the middle pages of the book? It was like the pages were printed half and inch lower than they should've been.

[/b]It's like the entire middle half of the book starting the page after Dragonwing and Chemical Kid are talking about if they'll ever be Legionnaires. And it ends on the ad for the Flash: Dastardly Death of the Rogues trade. (Specifically it starts on page 7 if you don't count ads and page 9 if you count the Dragon Quest ad.) It looks like that group of pages were cropped wrong before being added to the book because they don't line up at the top of the page. There's a short space between where the outer pages of the book start and where these pages start. And then the top of those pages has a white space that the outer pages don't have (I'm assuming it's normally cropped off). And then the bottom of those pages look like they have too much cropped off. So I'm missing parts of word balloons on the bottom of those pages (like the end of Variable Lad's sentence when he changes: "Perfect. Primitive--But a" and then it's cut off). It's not that big of a deal, but it's annoying.

Loved this issue. Night Girl really shone in her role as instructor. Loved the Lu and Chuck interaction. They seem like a naturally supportive couple.
The multiple Luornus looked beautiful too. I'm so glad she has a book that she can be featured in as it didn't look like she was going to get any face time in the LSH book.
I would still LOVE an explanation as to how her powers got bumped up. Even if it's as simple as her uniqueness among her people. Ie. she doesn't die when one body dies. Maybe when all bodies were killed off she naturally evolved to her current state.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the deal with Chemical Kid (not King!) is. In fact, I'm running over to my CBS right now!
But man oh man--does the art ever look good even online. Very Lightle-esque, and clean! By the way, didn't Jiminez say somewhere that he'd like to be the full-time egion artist, or was it someone else (other than Giffen)?
If the meek shall inherit inherit the Earth, then I at least want Baffin Island - and a property manager to work for me who is made of sterner stuff than I.

No offense, but I much prefer Jiminez to Lightle. Lightle's figures are too stylized for my taste.
The artwork was gorgeous, but I see they're back to coloring Luornu's eyes 2 different colors. I really hate that.
The story was okay.

So, it looks like we're being introduced to a new same-sex couple in the LSH universe...

I see where you're coming from now. And we're all in agreement - bad writing sucks! Yes, bad writing sucks. As for my oppinion on Magic being real, I am guessing that you have never checked out my profile (such as it is)?

Nice issue. It appears that this series will be driven my character moments. That's just fine with me. Just about everyone got a moment to shine. Oh, these new kids are going to have to learn to behave. Hopefully not too soon, though. This issue is officially my favorite Night Girl appearance in Legion history. It also makes me want to see Jed and Lamprey promoted to the main team pronto.

[/b]I hadn't - but I just had a quick look now. That's a great looking shop you've got. Even though I don't believe in 'magic' as such (I'd love to, but my mind is too hard-wired to look for proof/reason in things), I really like the whole culture around it - and the more people into counter-cultural/against the mainstream suff, the better IMO.

How do you figure that? Didn't you see Jed snuggling with Lamprey?

Mine looks fine, not like you described in your follow-up post. It might be worth seeing if your CBS can get you a better copy.

Click Here For A Spoilerunless Jed and Tel are just roommates, of course... I think that may be reading too much into that panel. They could have been stepping out of the kitchen, the gym...who knows. And Jed is often shown shirtless when he's not in uniform. But it may indeed be an intentional tease by the storytellers. What about Chemical Kid's taste for high-spending and clothes? Gotta be gay. :-)

Gorgeous art, cool story, nice characterizations.
Lydda, as others have said, is beautiful.
I'm intrigued by Mysa's poetic benediction: "Dark destiny calls you, Glorith... Guard her well, oh Night [Girl?]...for much rests on her choices."
Cute - Gravity Kid showing and pointing to his Legion flight ring in the class holo.
Sweet - Jed and Lamprey's reflective conversation. Are they good buddies or something more?
I hope this is the start of a great new ongoing story.

I Loved the last line of the interview, (So you're going to see a Legion of Legionnaires before we're done.)
I tried to rip their soul out.I tried to make them forget Superman. But they won't.

Such a beautiful issue, in every way. I think that it would make sense that Jed and Lamprey are close because they've been classmates and are similar in age and desires. And I liked them huggling. I just don't know what it means, couple wise. I couldn't see the letters that Glorith was writing back home, on the preview pages but they were quite clear in the actual book. I think the group picture was gorgeous, one of my all time favorites. And to me, Chemical Kid totally reminds me of Adam Lambert, looks and actions wise (not that I think that Adam is a thief, but rather that he has a wild side, is arrogant and likes going against authority. I noticed that Luornu's costume stays the same when she multiplies, even though it's bicolored. I suppose it couldn't really, since she's not just two anymore. The side swipe hairdo is one of my least favorites for her over the years. sigh
A singin' and a dancin' along the way.

Really enjoyed the issue. The art was very detailed yet not overly rendered. Enjoyable introductions and re-introductions to the characters. This book immediately jumps to one of the top spots on my pull list. One thing though, as usual I have a hard time understanding something that Comet Queen said. What does "Durgo" mean, as in "Durgo fakes being meteor metal, but she's really all gas cloud"? (Comet Queen is getting a spotlight issue soon, oh joy of joys).
So what.

"Durgo" is the last name of their teacher, Duplicate Girl - Luornu Durgo. Interesting that she's not using husband Chuck's last name, even in hyphenation, like Saturn Girl.

No offense taken, especially since I agree with your observation about the difference between the two artists. Still, something about the way Blok in particular was rendered by Jiminez reminded me of Lightle's style, too. And even though I haven't really seen much of Mr. Jiminez's art before, I have a very bold declration to make: this issue may have been one of the best drawn Legion stories ever, IMO. Seriously. Needless to say, I can't wait for the next issue to come out.

I like that Luronu's using her maiden name. Shows she's independent.
