So, I've been enjoying Wednesday Comics and, as might be expected, I got to thinking what a Legion feature might look like, if chosen to appear in a second volume.
Ultimately, I decided the coolest thing would be to have one write (maybe Paul Levtiz) with each week's page featuring a different Legionnaire and a different artist.
Naturally, each given page could not feature only that Legion member, in order to have a continuous story running the length of the series, but it could be written, I think, such that each issue spotlighted a different L* under his or her own logo.
Anyway, my question is this, if you were the Editor of Wednesday Comics, and were to put together such a feature, which Legion would you choose (preboot, reboot, threeboot, other), and which artist would you pair with each character?

Some of the writers/artists have attempted some clever story-telling skills, Flash probably being the most successful of the "experiments."
But in a first try, with Legion fans? I'm not so sure I'd want to try anything too tricky. They might know my address.
Which Legion?
I'd make up an entirely new one (evil grin).
One artist for all characters.
I would want the story and artist to be someone that REALLY wanted to do a Legion story but hadn't yet had a chance. All those that qualify would be put into a pit for a death match, winners get to write and draw.
I don't know WHAT artist but I do know what type. It would have to be someone that does landscapes and detail well. Legion would take up the WHOLE space. I could imagine one issue (and one only) being a single splash, Legion against the Fatal Five. AWESOME.
It wouldn't have to be painted but I would want a 3-d aspect, none of this flat (see Superman Annual) palate, lack of shadow type stuff.

Working under the assumption that the team would get a single page each week, rather than the whole pamphlet, I think I'd like to see something like the old stories where the team would split up into small groups. First week establish the threat, then each week after follow a different group as they resolve their particular challenge.
If that's too disjointed, then do a "most of the team is in deep space and there's only five of us to handle this problem" story.
Either way, I think it would be better to keep the numbers presented each week to a minimum and tell a more classically styled story--simple, straightforward adventure.

It would be a good opportunity to see Superboy's Legion again.
With classic Legion, I'd go for an Espionage Squad story, with one character each week revealing part of the mystery, building to the whole puzzle fitting together in the final week. Or one character on a mission, joined by a second in week 2, a third in week 3, etc.
Holy Cats of Egypt!
