Simple question. New issue.
She and Ultra Boy sittin' in a tree, doin' a lit-tle more, 'bout to make whoo-pie!
So, Space Hussy!
Yay or nay?

Nay, I say the nay!
I'm not sure exactly where the idea of Imra being a hussy originated. In the preboot, she had one sort-of/maybe encounter with Timber Wolf, which has to be understood in the context of their circumstance. They were trapped on an asteroid: vulnerable and abandoned, separated both physically and emotionally from their partners. That doesn't excuse their behavior (if indeed anything happened), but it can be explained as a moment of weakness rather than indicative of moral shortcomings.
In the reboot, the hussy rep seems to have originated with her manipulation of Ultra Boy during LEGION LOST, when she used her powers to make him think that Apparition was present. Clearly, however, she was trying to keep a teammate who had displayed strong emotional dependence on his significant other from losing it. Imra's actions amounted to a misguided attempt at controlling the situation and, in the end, misjudging Jo. Perhaps she received some voyeuristic pleasure from "watching" her fabricated Tinya make love to Jo, but that's speculation on everyone's part.

The online Free Dictionary gives the following two definitions for "hussy":
1. A woman considered brazen or immoral. 2. A saucy or impudent girl.
It also gives an "old fashioned" definition: "a woman considered sexually immoral or improper."
Judging by rickshaw's post, the first and the third definitions are the ones that apply.

Nah she's always been a hussy. The reader was just too young and innocent to realize what she was doing off panel. For example, imagine the white space before this panel from the Adventure era "Weddings that Wrecked the Legion". As I discussed in the thread "Silver Age Revisionist Hussy, Nice girls would never accept Brainiac's invitation to ride his big green pickle, would they? At least they would have a parent or teacher act as chaperon. This is Brainy we're talking about, his antics with blondes on the 'love pickle' are notorious in revisionist Legion Lore. Even Dirk and Jo were impressed. Also look at her hand casually groping him as she steps off of that thing. THAT HUSSY!

Did Kid Prime start the whole hussy thing? I did a search here, and there were 13 threads shown. The earliest was by KP. Was this a continuation of a DC message board thing?
Anyway, I get the joke. It's fun and all, but I don't think Saturn Girl is a shameless hussy.
Nay.

No. I always hate that word : hussy. She's the heart of Legion Of Super-Heroes. The first female hero who was a leader of a team.
This is a Legion lovers forum. Not The legion of supermoralists.

Definitely NAY. It's the old thing - if a woman fools around, she's a slut; if a guy does, he's just normal. Also, strong women tend to be criticized and called all sorts of names by men and women alike.
Imra's proven herself to be a strong, capable team leader, someone with initiative, who gets things done with a group or on her own and has a good understanding of people. One affair on the side - if that's even what it is - wouldn't make her a hussy anyways.

Actually, i was refering to the latest issue of the regular book.
SPOILERS. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
She and Jo caught naked in the closet by Invisible Kid, while in a close embrace.
And Just What Is Wrong With The Term Hussy?
Would ya prefer Slattern? Concubine?
Space Hussy...just has a great flow to it. Its old timey mixed with ...Space.
Gotta love the humor in it.

Yeah, reboot Imra was more of a space hussy with her puppeteering of Cosmic Boy into marrying her (almost), and her weird Phantom Girl creation/impersonation in LEGION LOST.
At least this SG is having an honest-to-goodnes encounter with interaction leading up to it. Like a human.

I've always been happy to go along with classic SG being a hussy in the "brazen" sense. The world is a better place for its brazen women.
Reboot SG was too much of a good girl to be a hussy in either sense of the word, though her subconscious desires would occasionally slip out.
Threeboot SG's most recent depiction is just more lame than hussy to me. Self-image problems drive her to the legion's alpha male? Not brazen, not immoral, just stupid.

This does kinda make me curious... how many love scenes... okay...sex scenes... have been shown or at least implied, in Legion comics? Not many. And have most of them been Imra and Garth? Or Imra and someone else? Uh oh, hussy evidence imminant!

Pre-boot there were a few: Nura and Atmos, Nura and the "lump in the bed", Gim and Yera-as-Vi in some trashy luv shack in the Himalayas, Dawnstar and Wildfire... I can't recall any bedroom scenes with the other well-established couples, Jo & Tinya, Chuck & Lu, Tasmia & Lar. And, apart from a honeymoon scene, no big passion shots of Imra and Garth in the pre-boot. We know the thing with Brin wasn't romance, regardless of what Ayla thought. Things heated up under DnA and I think that's where Imra first got her hussy status. The poor girl won't be able to look at a guy from now on without the rumours starting ...

Nah, we just love to torture her since she's so uptight. Wouldn't be fun with someone like Dream Girl, lol.

This is why I don't like Shooter and his fixation on sex. The 'real' Imra would never have done anything like that. Too uptight and too in love.

And even if not "in love", she has too much of a need to be in control (especially of herself) to give in to her emotions so quickly.

Yeah, even disobeying your leader and leaving the fate of the solar system in jeopardy! Looks like reading too many minds leaves your own mind distorted. At least Garth gets to call Action Imra, er... Ms. President "Kin'thea".
