It's all here, at his wonderful blog:
How many Legionnaires can you name who had letters on their costume?

He asks for answers at his forum, but I'd like to see them here.

Being not a very attentive-to-spandex kind of guy, I just thought of 2, at the top of my head. But Waid and Kurt came up with 5 or 8, technically in the last case.

Hmm,

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Superboy, Supergirl, Phantom Girl, Duo Damsel (I think her cape fastened with a double "D"), Element Lad(?) Shadow Lass...</span></span>

How many universes are we looking at?

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">I'd say Robinson, Waid and Busiek thought of both Supers, Ferro Lad, E-Lad and Phantom Girl. And maybe all other ones are what they discarded as pushing a bit the envelope?

BTW, I thought of Ferro and E-Lad from the top of my head.</span></span>

I think they were sticking with classic Legion, not Reboot onwards, so M'Onel isn't valid, I guess.

I posted mine on Tom Bondurant's blog, which also linked to this. I got these ones, which I will post before looking at any of the other ones in this thread:

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text"> Element Lad had the interlac E at one point
- Phantom Girl had a P on her costume a couple of times
- I think Atmos had an interlac A
- Invisible Kid had an I a couple of times
- Lightning Boy (sic), Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy had their entire names on their costumes in their first appearance
- M'Onel's costume had an M integrated into the design in the reboot
- Did Ferro Lad have an Fe on his costume?
- Superboy, Superboy II, Supergirl (and I'm pretty sure Superman-X from the animated series) had the S-shield, of course
- Oh! Shadow Lass had an S at one point - I think it was a brooch that was like an S with a line through it

Let's see..... I came up with 8

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">
1 - Superboy
2 - Supergirl
3 - Phantom Girl (does she count twice? Original and Earth-Prime)
4 - Element lad
5 - Shadow Lass (original and I think Umbra even had an "S" for some reason)
6 - Ferro Lad (he had two letters and from the wording of the above question I guess it counts)
7 - Sensor Girl
8 - Invisible Kid
</span></span>

I'm not counting SuperMAN or the originals when they had their full names written on their costumes.

Wanted to write down my own guesses, before looking under the spoiler tags to see what others got. smile

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">
Superboy and Supergirl both had the S symbol on their chest.

Element Lad had an E on his original costume, and an Interlac E on a later one, IIRC.

Shady had an S on one of her costumes, but it was stylized.

Phantom Girl's original costume had a big P on the chest.

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Karate Kid's white uniform from Superboy #183. It had a K on the belt.</span></span>

But there's a good reason for that...it was awful! laugh

The black design on Cockrum's Shrinking Violet costume was supposed to be a stylised SV

Sensor Girl has an 'S' on her cape clip

Quislet had some sort of weird symbol on his little ship, but that probably doesn't count as a letter.

The entire Archie Legion had the letter 'L' for Legion on their belt buckles, but maybe that's the same as the flight rings not counting.

Yes, not counting, the buckles.

I got 7 up to the reboot, but I don't know how to do spoilers so I just have my notes here.

sigh
I didn't get Sensor Girl's cape or Quislet's ship or Shrinking Violet.

I think my 7 are pretty solid, though.
