Since Marvel shut down the awesome "Thor: the mighty avenger" book, wouldn't it be great if Roger Langridge and Chris Samnee moved on "Legion of Super-Heroes" after the current storyline is over? I know, I know, it's never gonna happen, but a fan can dream What do you think about that? Would you like to see them onboard? I asked a friend of mine to open a page on Facebook about that, if you like it you could share this link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/We-wa...n-Legion-of-Super-Heroes/126269600768103 My friend got a little carried away and wrote this long description to the page, which I copy to you here so you can read it from here if you don't want to visit Facebook: In 2010, DC Comics' "LEGION OF SUPER-HEROES" book went through its latest relaunch, this time entrusted to the hands of veteran writer Paul Levitz and artists Yildiray Cinar and Francis Portela. This pleasant creative team is (most likely) going to bring its second story arc to a close next april, with issue #12 of the new Legion series. Since Marvel Comics has announced the premature ending of its critically acclaimed all-ages series “THOR: THE MIGHTY AVENGER” - one of the best comic books currently on the stands, bar none - wouldn't it be great if TMA’s creators, Roger Langridge and Chris Samnee, jumped onboard as Legion scribe and artist from issue #13 on?
Of course, this proposal is not meant as an offense to mr. Levitz and his brothers in arms. However, during his long and successful career, Levitz already had multiple occasions to express his own vision of DC's 31st century, also offering some really memorable stories. As a Levitz lover myself, I think it would be great for this author to walk towards new series and characters, leaving the Legion baton in the hands of some new creator.
As for mr. Langridge, I feel that his fresh and character-driven writing taste would be the a perfect fit for DC's futurologist franchise, which always orbited around the strength of his many protagonists' multicoloured personalities. The man is a master in making his charachters shine and empathically connect with readers, even when the scene is crowded, as Langridge also beautifully shown in his other recent work on Boom! Studios' "THE MUPPET SHOW", a perfectly balanced ensamble book -- just as "Legion of Super-Heroes" should be.
On the art side, Chris Samnee is a hugely talented artist, master of visual storytelling and character acting. He's also gifted with a great sense of design - see the nice reimagings of some of the Avengers he did for TMA - which would come in handy to breath life into the setting of the 31st century DC Universe.
At this time, there aren't many creative teams better than this. Even if the internet rumble around TMA's fate should persuade Marvel to bring the series to its natural conclusion with issue #12, as originally planned, Langridge and Samnee are about to become "free agents" soon... just in time to jump on the Legion spaceship next year. In my humble opinion, what the Legion desperately needs the most right now is to open its gates to new readers, rather than staying too tied to its own tradition.
So, what do you people think? Wouldn't it be awesome if Langridge and Samnee were the next authors of "Legion of Super-Heroes"? Leave a comment and let our wish be heard around the net!

Sorry, I want Levitz on Legion as long as is possible. I'm sure with the stink being raised over the Thor stuff that these guys will land on their feet and good luck to them, but i'm liking Legion just fine as is.

We've had decades of other creators on the Legion. Meh.
I'd like Paul to stay on the book as long as possible and to break his previous records. Even if I was familiar with these guys (which I'm not), I don't see any reason why they should be on the Legion. I'm sure they have plenty of other opportunities.

They would have been great on the Adventure book when it was telling secret tales of the early days. Samnee has a nice understated style that's compatible with retro styles without being camp, like Paul Smith or Michael Lark. However, i'm not so convinced he could pull off the futuristic technology needed for the main book.

I have no idea who Samnee or Langridge are (or were before I read this thread) but I don't see how bringing new writers to this team so soon after Levitz's return could be anything but detrimental to this book.
After all the shake-ups this team/book have seen both within and without it's pages over the last few years, what it needs now more than ever is stability. A stable creative team. A stable team of characters. Some good solid story-telling and adventuring. I think readers are sick of seeing all new characters and writers on this team every few months/years. Or maybe just I am.

I love Samnee. He is super talented, and I have seen a great picture of Saturn Girl that he had done, so I would be interested to see what he could do with the Legion.
I might live on the butt end of the world, but I get to see the days before anyone else.... mwaahahahahahaha

if i got you curious about langridge and samnee's art, you should definitely check out at least "Thor: the mighty avenger", whose first trade is already out: http://www.bookdepository.com/book/9780785141211/Thor-Mighty-Avenger-v.-1/?a_aid=LegioneDeiSupereroi consider i'm not a huge fan of marvel's god of thunder, mostly because i get easily bored with all the mythological clichees this kind of comic generally shows. however, this book is all about thor and the other character's human side, and that easily hooked me i also love "The Muppet Show", which is all by langridge (story and art). it's cute and smart, and it makes me laugh and (sometimes) cry. right now i believe boom studios put out three paperbacks of it, this is the first one: http://www.bookdepository.com/book/...ow-Comic-Book/?a_aid=LegioneDeiSupereroi

p.s. I edited my first post adding more info [/b]I'm loving Paul's run, and I've literally been waiting DECADES for a run of this quality with the characters I like. I'm really not willing to trade that for an unknown quantity at this point.

I want to keep the writing and art status quo, too, but I must say, the Thor sample pic linked above looks great and could easily suit a book like the LSH.
If the meek shall inherit inherit the Earth, then I at least want Baffin Island - and a property manager to work for me who is made of sterner stuff than I.

This would be amazing. All I can say about the current creative team is that they are okay. There have been better and there have been worse runs over the years. It just doesn't seem like they're bringing much that is particularly fresh to a comic concept that desperately needs a unique vision.
However, Chris Samnee is an incredibly gifted artist who's linework and sense of contrast are sublime. I will admit to not being super-familiar with Roger Langridge's work, but based on what he's been doing in Thor the Mighty Avenger, I like him a lot. The fact that Marvel is considering canceling/has canceled this fine book is maddening
Is that a moon?
