My collection of Legion post-1994 is spotty until DnA. I never caught most the rebooted characters and episodes.
Seen a lot about Jeckie/Snekie on the board, but I was wondering (besides the snake): who were your least favorite reboots and why?

i think Mon-el/Valor got shafted by the reboot. He had his own comic, he was THE powerhouse of the LSH and he was completely healed of all the crud writers had been weighing him down with for decades. He coulda been a contender!!! In the reboot it seems that he's been defined by other people's perceptions of him and it made him appear weak and indecisive. That's just so wrong. I liked a Valor with a history of personal tradgedy and lasting heroic effort. He was valuable to the Legion and to the UP as a whole but this one got manipulated by everyone and their Khundish cousins.

Kent!
He only appeared on a couple pages toward the very end... no speaking lines, even.
The childhood friend Exnihil never had.

I didn't care for the fact that Dreamer and the White Witch were no longer sisters. They probably had the most believable sibling relationship preboot, and I didn't like losing the connection.

Yeah, but White Witch as the daughter of Mordru was kinda interesting. Don't know if this twist is enough to forgo the sibling thing matlarrk mentioned.
To disagree with Yellow a little bit... Valor still did a thousand years in the Phantom Zone, to me that's personal tragedy and lasting heroic effort. To me his reboot was perfect, and I like his introspective nature of "I'm not a religious deity" and the turmoil it caused him. I think the last five or so years has just neglected that, and beating up on Monel has kinda become the way for writers to establish the "worth" of certain bad guys. In simple words, I like Valor's reboot, I just think he's been misused ever since Karate Kid almost threw him into that sun.

I thought it was really creepy that Mysa went from being Mordru's wife to Mordru's daughter.

It was probably Dirk's powerlessness for me. Especially after Emerald Vi sucked his powers out. Also, for a creepy wish-fulfillment plot twist, the Vi-granting-everyone's-wishes one was the LAMEST. Those wishes were HORRIBLE, especially Gim's death wish. UGH!
White. A blank page or canvas. His favorite. So... many... possibilities.

Mysa as Mordru's daughter sucked.
And Valor was just confusing - he had so mmuch back story after the reboot. Why was he in the Phantom Zone/Bgtsl Buffer Zone this time anyway - I've forgotten.
Jekka and wombats was easily the worst.
On the other hand I thought introducing new characters like XS, Gates and Kinetix was cool. (Repeatedly stuffing up Kinetix's character with the tail, zmobeiness then brown-rock-thing definitely weren't cool though.)
I quite liked Tasmia as a complete pain in the butt. And Gim's new personality was a nice contrast to the others - till they killed him.
Livewire's mega-brat personality, especially early in the series, I could have done without though.

Kon stuck him in the Statis Zone, using a projector STAR labs had confiscated, when he found him dying, essentially.

Yeah, Andrew got to live this time around but Ferro is no Ferro Lad. I wanted him to be, I really really wanted him to be.
The Fatal Five got an upgrade but lost Sarya..I think that one evens out as far as good/bad goes. (I'd ather have the REAL Emerald Empress though)
...and the monkey, Koko had lots of panel time until they finally wrote him out. Good for a 20th century experimental lab animal(I reckon) but good for the faithful? You decide.

For my the worst things in the reboot 1994:
The snake Jeka. The Gim's death. The ugly Empress.(Where is Sarya?) The silly Super Nun Andromeda. Lori Mornig. Cub. Thunder. Monstress. The Jan/Progenitor plot. The horrible Jan/Garth combo. The couple Rok & Jazmin. Kon-el in The Legion. Dirk Morgna without powers. No more Mysa and Nura sisters. Blok? Chemical King? Spider Girl lost in the Limbo. Wildfire two souls in one energy body?
From UK with glamour.

Once you get past the obvious ones like the snake, Koko, and Zoe (I include Zoe because of her current state, she started off pretty likeable), I gotta say Kid Prime's suggestion of the de-powered Sun Boy is probably the worst of the reboot for me.
The lack of Dawnstar is a huge opportunity missed and probably another low point in the reboot. Especially considering she hasn't really been seen since the pre 5 year gap Legion. Bounty hardly counts as Dawnstar.

Laurel. OMG. The Legion had a potential winner in that character. For someone I'd never seen before I instantly loved her. She was like Supergirl and Wonder Woman rolled into one, absolute self confidence and incredible power tempered with an adult's sense of morals and ethics...and one hot mama too...Wow. I would've bought a Valor Girl comic book.
..but not one about a super powered nun...

(reserve right to edit & add others dislikes)
edited to add: Valor worship/ world seeding Emerald VI LeVIathan Mysa's new family

Even though I came in on the postboot, there were still things over time (especially as soon as I learned more about the preboot) that grated on me:
Lori Morning Nura as a beach bimbo Mysa Nal related to Mordru over Nura Emerald Violet storyline (great concept; stretched far too long) "Happy" Brainiac 5.1 & his Anomoly friends Thunder taking so long to join (we had been teased with her membership for over a year both online and in posters) Thunder eventually joining and stealing the airtime (I like the character, especially under DnA, but not as the panel-hog she initially was) Andromeda as a xenophobe Andromeda leaving the team (and the ensuing nun nonsense; I would have rather seen her overcome things while a Legionnaire)

I actually liked Laurel's portrayal as a xenophobe, because it gave her something more difficult to conquer than any supervillain: her own racism. I thought that was a wonderful thing to see. Of course, then the writing went and Nunned it up. A shame, really.

THEN, she vanished for a while and turned up with a personality transplany.

I guess Laurel ended up like anyone who finds religion and gets born again, eh? Of course, it does make one wonder why they didn't push for an all-ages series about Sister Andromeda feeding out charity and Christ amongst the stars... {sorry, i'm shuddering in a ball on my bed now ... bad images taking over my brain...}

Including Thunder instead of using Andromeda was a big mistake. I liked Andromeda's reboot personality but it would have been much more enjoyable to see her change and fit in with the team rather than having a last minute change of heart and ending up a space nun.

hmm... let's try lee moder the "archie legion" too much time spent by the legion in the 20th century too less time trapper koko (i think brainy ended by using it for some experiment... ) the snake projectra steve wacker the jarth thing i kinda liked the rough ideas of lori and the nun andromeda, i just think they weren't utilized in a convincing way instead, i liked very much legion lost and the jan/progenitor story! i remember the ending of LL as one of the scariest things i've ever read...
